Festival: Vision and Focus His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
Gurudev's disappearance festival is very soon, and we must arrange some festival, some service to the Vaishnavs. There will be Vaishnavs from Mayapur, many householder devotees will come from different towns of India, also Gurudev's disciples will come. Gurudev's disappearance festival means Vaishnav seva. Vaishnav is the main focus for us. Appearance and disappearance look different, one is avirbhav and the other one is tirobhav, but following Vaishnavs' vision we think that on these two tithis (days) Gurudev always takes puja from us and on these days we can worship Gurudev properly. We worship and do everything properly every day, but if we make Gurudev happy—if we make a festival of the Lord's personal associate, if we offer him worship on this day—the Lord also becomes happy. As we know, the worship of the Lord's devotees, of a Vaishnav, is greater than the worship of the Lord, it is actually the highest. We believe that and this is why first we always do Guru puja—we always first give "jaya" to Guru and Vaishnavs, when we recite gayatri mantras, we always recite Guru-mantra first, and Krishna-mantra later. It is said in the scriptures that if someone serves Gauranga without serving the Guru, such sinner goes to hell. We say, "Guru-mukha-padma-vakya chitete kariya aikya (গুরুমুখ-পদ্মবাক্য চিত্তেতে করিয়া ঐক্য): make the teachings from Sri Guru's lotus mouth one with your heart," but we do not listen to Gurudev, we do not follow what he says. That is our bad fortune—this is Guru aparadh, seva aparadh, Vaishnav aparadh. What does it lead to? You have heard about Ramachandra Puri—he also became a very big offender of Mahaprabhu, he was rejected by Madhavendra Puri. Gurudev also rejected some of his brahmacharis and some of his sannyasis, and Guru Maharaj also said, "If somebody does not follow Govinda Maharaj, I drag them out"... We must understand what we have come here for. Have we come here only for food and a room?
