Sure Is Only Death His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
** Prabhu does not come so much these days, does he? —Yes, he is taking care of his safety... Ai, Prabhu, do you know what is sure in this world? Only death is sure for everybody! Once—it is not a story, it is a true fact that happened in India—an astrologer told one family that their grandson would die from a snake bite. The family was so much afraid for their grandson that they decided to make a wooden cage to make sure no snake could reach him. They kept him in the cage and never allowed him to go outside. Near the house, the family had a big garden with many fruit trees, and one day the grandmother picked some fruit called kul (কুল, jujube—it is sour and comes in the winter season; I also like that fruit) and brought it to the child, who was about two years old by that time. The boy ate the fruit and a few minutes later died. Everybody was surprised because the astrologer had said that he would die from a snake bite, why did he then die after eating the fruit? They took the boy to hospital and after the post-mortem examination the doctor said that the boy had eaten something that contained poison of a snake. So, what happened is that a snake had bitten and left its poison in the fruit and the grandmother picked it from the tree and gave it to the boy... That is why, Prabhu, "মারবি রাখবি—যো ইচ্ছা তোমার, marabi rakhabi, yo ichchha tomara": Krishna will protect you, Krishna will save you. If you are meant to die, you can go to even a rathole and die there. Nobody can protect themselves, you know that. There are so many big personalities—the Indian prime-minister Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Bangladesh president, Mahatma Gandhi—they all had so much protection and security but still they were killed by the gundas, terrorists.
