A New Lease of Life

I am happy to see you all today. We are very fortunate because Krishna is always with us, Gurudev is always with us. We must practise Krishna consciousness properly because we have got this human body to serve the Lord.

We have got a son, a daughter, we got the husband, or the wife—Krishna gave this to us, but unfortunately sometimes we forget Krishna, and because of that we suffer so much austerity. Krishna has given us everything, but we forget Him—it is not good, we must always remember Him.

Krishna's associate has come in this world as a Guru and always engages everyone in service to the Lord—it is the Guru's duty to bring new members to Krishna's family.

When you get association of a sadhu you understand that you have been wasting all your time on maya. Maya has always been taking our time, and we have been always listening to her instruction, but now, by sadhu-sanga, we understand that we did wrong. Now we have got good association and we know Krishna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead and we must serve Him.

When we take initiation, we must accept membership in Krishna'a family. We follow the orders of Maya, we follow the orders of our children, husbands, wives, and many others, but now we see, "They have no sympathy for me. Now I understand Krishna is very merciful to me." At last we have got this human body and we have got good association, sadhu-sanga, so we should understand what is necessary for our spiritual life and become a member of Krishna' family.

দীক্ষাকালে ভক্ত করে আত্মসমর্পণ ।
সেইকালে কৃষ্ণ তারে করে আত্মসম ॥

diksa-kale bhakta kare atma-samarpana
sei-kale krsna tare kare atma-sama

At the time of initiation, when a devotee fully surrenders unto the service of the Lord, Krishna accepts him to be as good as Himself.

Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita, Antya-lila, 4.192

When you take initiation, Krishna thinks, "This jiva soul, this conditioned soul, is a part of Me," and He accepts that soul as a member of His own family.

So, now that we have become a member of Krishna's family, we must practise properly and follow Krishna's instruction—not just put on tilak, but we must serve the Guru properly, with full chastity.

Jive daya: you must give benefit to the jiva souls. When you see some conditioned souls you should tell them, "Hare Krishna," and if one time "Hare Krishna" comes out of their mouths, it is a great benefit for them. Name ruchi, Vaishnava seva: you should get taste through practising Krishna consciousness and serve Vaishnavs.
