Mind Your Own Faults His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
I am telling this to all the devotees all over the world. What for have you come to Krishna consciousness? What for have you become a disciple of your Guru? Becoming a disciple, you must serve your Guru. I see that at a young age boys and girls do not think about their future life. They do something emotionally, but after that, when they become 22-26 years old, they change automatically—somebody washes their brain, they change and after that they do not think what is Krishna consciousness, what is practising life. Gurudev said that if you live for twenty years in this world you must think that your life is actually ten years because you have been sleeping for the other ten years. There is no time!
উঠরে উঠরে ভাই আর ত সময় নাই
uthare uthare bhai ara ta samaya nai "Wake up, wake up, brother, there is no time! Worship Krishna!" You can die, you can leave your body at any moment! You must think that time is very short. Raghunath Das Goswami served twenty-two and a half hours and spent only one and a half hours on sleeping and bathroom, but we sleep for twenty-two hours and do something during two hours. It is very bad for our Krishna consciousness life. We must engage ourselves full time:
কি শয়নে, কি ভোজনে, কিবা জাগরণে ।
ki sayane, ki bhojane, kiba jagarane Whether you are sleeping, eating, or resting, always chant the Name of Krishna. (Sri Chaitanya-bhagavat, Madhya-khanda, 28.28) You must understand what is Krishna consciousness, what is service. Do not criticise anybody. It is not your duty to see who is doing what. Always searching others' fault, when will you get time to serve others, to serve your Gurudev? When will you get time for that? You are thinking somebody's nature is bad, somebody's nature is this, somebody's nature is that, but Gurudev said that those who eat coal will pass black stool—if somebody does wrong, they will suffer. Do not worry about others. Vaishnav must be adosa-darasi—Vaishnav will not see others' fault. Vaishnav always thinks that he is guilty. Close your eyes and do not see so many bad things. Gurudev told also not to say bad things, not to hear bad things, not to see bad things (ku-bolibe na, ku-sunibe na, ku-dekhibe na). You must always think about other's good qualities; you must always pray for everybody to be good. Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur also taught this. One time, two brahmacharis were fighting with each other. He called them and they started to complain about each other in front of him. Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur said, "Stop. Stop! You have told so many bad things about him. I think, and you probably also think, that he has some quality. Tell me about his good qualities, I am giving you ten minutes." This is what Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur told. Learn from this.
