I am giving initiation to you now. You know that it is a fortunate soul who gets this connection:

ব্রহ্মাণ্ড ভ্রমিতে কোন ভাগ্যবান্ জীব ।
গুরু-কৃষ্ণ-প্রসাদে পায় ভক্তিলতা-বীজ ॥

brahmanda bhramite kona bhagyavan jiva
guru-krsna-prasade paya bhakti-lata-bija

"Having travelled throughout the universe and got the mercy of Guru, Krishna, a fortunate soul receives a seed of the devotional creeper."

(Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita, Madhya-lila, 19.151)

"Brahmanda bhramite kona bhagyavan jiva:" we are coming and going, coming and going in this world, but those who are fortunate souls can get the association, can get connection with a Guru. That is why I am saying that it is very rare to get this association. I am giving you what Gurudev gave me, I am giving that connection to you. By the mercy of Gurudev, by the mercy of the Lord, I have got that kind of a bona fide Guru. By his tolerance and patience, he accepted me as the next acharya of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math all over the world, I am very fortunate.

This connection comes from Krishna to Brahma, from Brahma to Narad, from Narad to Vyasadev, from Vyasadev to Madhvacharya—it comes in this way to Madhavendra Puri, then from Madhavendra Puri to Ishwar Puri, from Ishwar Puri to Mahaprabhu. Mahaprabhu Himself took initiation from Ishwar Puri—He showed to people and devotees that it is necessary to take a proper, bona fide, Guru who will think about your spiritual matter. A bona fide Guru will think about your spiritual matter—he will not think about your material matter, material desires or material enjoyment. He will think about your spiritual life, and this connection comes directly from the Lord (I have told you just now that it comes from Krishna). In this way this connection comes to Srila Jagannath Das Babaji Maharaj, Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur, Srila Gaura Kishor Das Babaji Maharaj, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur, and then comes to our Param Gurudev who is the Founder Acharya of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math, Om Vishnupad Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj. After that, it comes to our Gurudev, Om Vishnupad Jagad-Guru Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj. Srila Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj chose him and Gurudev, in his turn, chose me as his next successor. I am still following Gurudev's order, and for this reason I am giving that connection to you now.

You can chant this Holy Name everywhere: "Grhe thako, vane thako, sada 'Hari' bole dako (গৃহে থাক, বনে থাক সদা 'হরি' বলে ডাক), whether you stay in a house or in a forest, always call out the Holy Name." You can chant this Holy Name without beads also, but the beads are given for your obligation, or bond—you must remember, "Gurudev has given these beads to me, I must chant the Holy Name." You must chant the Holy Name on the beads every day. The number of rounds depends upon your service, upon how busy you are—if you are very busy with service, then it is not necessary to do so many rounds, but you can chant with your mouth while you are working with your hands. You can chant with your mouth anywhere—even while sleeping or lying down. The main thing is that you must chant the Holy Name of Krishna.

First, you should touch the sumeru bead and chant Pancha-tattva's Name. I think you know Their name, you may have chanted it before:

শ্রীকৃষ্ণচৈতন্য প্রভু নিত্যানন্দ ।
শ্রীঅদ্বৈত গদাধর শ্রীবাসাদি গৌরভক্তবৃন্দ ॥

sri-krsna-chaitanya prabhu nityananda
sri-advaita gadadhara srivasadi gaura-bhakta-vrnda

This is Pancha-tattva's name. Chant first Their name, ask Them for mercy, "I am a fallen soul, I have no quality or qualification to chant this Holy Name. Prabhu, You have brought this Holy Name to this abode, please give me some mercy so that I can chant this Holy Name." After that, you can start chanting from the big beads to the small beads:

হরে কৃষ্ণ হরে কৃষ্ণ কৃষ্ণ কৃষ্ণ হরে হরে ।
হরে রাম হরে রাম রাম রাম হরে হরে ॥

hare krsna hare krsna krsna krsna hare hare
hare rama hare rama rama rama hare hare

Chant in this way from the big beads to the small beads, then turn the beads and chant from the small beads to the big beads.

Chant in this way sixteen rounds or more every day. If you are busy with service, then not less than four rounds—four rounds must be chanted every day. Take the Nama-aparadh book also. The ten offences against the Holy Name are there, you must read what these offences are and you must avoid them. Chant without offence and Krishna will reveal Himself in your heart, you will succeed in your spiritual life. Chant and you will get the result quickly.
