'I offer my obeisance unto Sri Gurudev, who has opened my eyes, which were blinded by the darkness of ignorance, applying the kajal of divine knowledge on my eyes.'

Jay Om Vishnupad Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj ki jay!

I am very fortunate today because after many years I am again able to come here to meet with you all: my well-wishers, godbrothers, godsisters, assembled devotees, the sannyasi-vrinda, the brahmachari-vrinda. I am very fortunate to meet with you all here in South India, near Guntur, near Kovvur (the city where Raya Ramananda's place is). Before Mahaprabhu settled in Puri, He also came here and visited all the holy places here in South India. We have also been here before and now this year we are again able to come. It is impossible to come here without a great fortune.

We are sitting here, joining this programme, meeting with you all, and in this way we keep connection. This is actually our real family. Our Param Gurudev Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj's Guru is Bhagavan Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur, and he said that this is actually an examination place. After you complete your study at school, college, or university, you take an exam—similarly, Krishna has sent us to this human body and we should think that this is our examination time.

You know everything. We have gone through eighty-four lakhs (8,400,000) of bodies—we have gone through aquatic species, trees, we lived as beasts and birds, goats, cats, snakes, frogs, monkeys, we have got all kinds of bodies—and now Krishna has mercifully given us this body. It is rare to get a human body, but we have finally got it. What is the difference between those previous birds' and beasts' bodies and this human body? Krishna has sent us to a human body and He is examining us, He wants to see what we do after that.

Some may see no difference. What do we do in family life? Having got this human body we are doing the same thing that we did when we had a cat's body or a dog's body. But this is not the point. Having got a human body just to do all the same things—ahara, nidra, bhaya, maithunamcha (eating, sleeping, defending, and enjoying)—this is not what human life is for. We should not live like cats and dogs. Yet we live like that because at present we are covered by illusory environment, Maya.

We should understand this. We should know it and we should search for the answer to the question, "What is our duty in this human body?" First of all, we should understand and know that my body and myself is not the same thing. Actually, in this human body we have some parents (just as when we had a cat's body, a dog's body, we also had a father and a mother). We only get a body from our parents, but our identity is that we are a jiva soul (jivatma), and the soul does not come from any parents—it comes from the Lord.

When we get a material body (a human body now or some other body previously), the body comes from our parents, but when the material body dies—when we leave our body—the body is burnt and destroyed, and it returns to the same place where it has come from (the material body is made of five elements: earth, water, fire, air, ether). This is a material body. You think that you will live a hundred years, but your life is eternal, it is ananta-kal (infinite), and these only hundred years is nothing.

I have mentioned Maya just now. What is Maya? Maya means illusory environment—Maya is created by the Lord Himself and she always gets her power from the Lord. If Maya Devi sees that you are surrendered to the Lord, she will run away from you.

We change our clothes every day, day after day, and we also change our bodies every few years. For example, a mosquito's lifetime is sometimes fifteen days or two months, somebody's lifetime is a hundred years, somebody's lifetime is five years, somebody's lifetime is ten years, and so on. There are different kinds of jiva souls in this world. This is how the world is running. Just as we change clothes every day, we also change bodies depending on our karma-phal (result of our actions). 'As you sow so you reap.' As I have just told you, this is an examination place. You do some karma (actions) in this human body, according to your actions (it can be sukarma, vikarma, or akarma—good actions, bad actions and inaction), you get some result, and depending on that result of your actions (karma-phal), you get another body.

What is our duty at this moment? We are alive in this world, but do you realise how many thousands and millions of jiva souls we kill every day just to stay alive in this house or in this world? We kill millions and millions of jiva souls every day—even when you drink some water, even when you breathe or take your food. How many jiva souls do you kill in your lifetime? What kind of result will you get after that? You should think about it. You commit so many sins, but how can you overcome it? How can you recover from all these sins?

You know that 'every action has an equal and opposite reaction'—whatever you do, some reaction will come to you. We should understand what is necessary to do in this lifetime, and all solution is there. You can read Srimad Bhagavatam, you can see Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita. You can also read Srimad Bhagavad-gita. Srimad Bhagavad-gita is the primary stage—if you read Srimad Bhagavad-gita and understand what it says, then you can see that all the solution is there.

Power of the Holy Name: Abode of Sweetness
'If you chant this Name of Krishna so many times but still there is no love, there are no tears streaming from your eyes, then as I understand there are too many offences and the seed of Krsna's Name does not sprout.'

Janama saphala ta'ra
'Beholding Krishna's form, which surpasses the beauty of a sapphire, beneath a kadamba, my heart was overwhelmed. My feet could not move. I forgot the world.'

What is coming from Gurudev's lotus mouth, we must believe that.
