(4/14) Reaching Out to Nityananda Prabhu

His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj
Sri Ekachakra Dham, evening class,
16 February 2019, part 4
Translated from Bengali

During our parikrama tomorow, we will speak about Lord Jagannath also. There is a temple of Lord Jagannath, Baladev and Subhadra here.

When Hadai Pandit was already old, he wished one day to visit Jagannath Dham Puri to have the darshan of Lord Jagannath. Nityananda Prabhu told him, 'Father, you are old now, you should not go. I will bring Jagannath to you.' So, Nityananda Prabhu brought Lord Jagannath here. The servitors of the Deities have now made a beautiful large temple – the service is going on there nicely.

There are a few more places in this area – there is Radha Kunda, Shyama Kunda also, but they are a bit far. There is also Kundaltala. We do not get time to go to all these places, and there are a lot of devotees – it will not be possible to find the transportation. If there were ten people, we could hire a car and go, but it is not possible to take everybody on that kind of parikrama. The places are too far. Kundaltala is the place where Nityananda Prabhu's earing (kundal, কুণ্ডল) is kept. Kotasur is the place where Bhima fought the demon. There is Nityananda Kunda, Padmavati Kunda. They have made boundary walls at these places now, so I do not know if we will be able to go there or not. Anyhow, we will do the parikrama of the nearby places tomorrow. It should take one–two hours, so you will not have to walk much. Everybody must come and do this parikrama with us – we will walk chanting kirtan and stop at a few places to speak about their glories briefly. If I get time, I will speak more during the class after the parikrama.

Stay here for a few days, tolerate the austerity. This is for your own benefit. You have taken so much trouble to come here, so try to stay together with everybody. What to do? Do not worry about the families you left at home – you have lived and will live with them your whole life...

You have been living in your family your whole life, wasting time. We ended up in this world because we chose to live in Maya's family, but we must try to come out of it and become members of Krishna's family. That is why we must cry:

কবে নিত্যানন্দ মোরে করি' দয়া ।
ছাড়াইবে মোর বিষয়ের মায়া ॥

kabe nityananda more kari' daya
chhadaibe mora visayera maya

'When will Nityananda be compassionate to me and relieve me from mundane illusion?'

(Saranagati, Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur)

'When will Nityananda Prabhu take pity on me? When will this illusory environment let go of me?'

আর কবে নিতাইচাঁদ করুণা করিবে ।
সংসার-বাসনা মোর কবে তুচ্ছ হ'বে ॥

ara kabe nitaichand karuna karibe
samsara-vasana mora kabe tuchha ha'be

'When will Nitaichand give me His mercy? When will my material desires become trifle?'

(Prarthana, Srila Narottam Das Thakur)

Ego: a Play of Kali
Ego does not depend on age, neither does one's status matter—the problem is the same, the remedy is the same.

We always search for fault in others, but we do not think that we have our own faults—our ego is our problem.
