'The dumb can speak, the lame can climb a hill—all it takes is mercy from Gurudev."

(Bhavartha Dipika)

First, I am offering my full obeisance at the lotus feet of my Divine Master Om Vishnupad Jagad-Guru Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj, begging him for his causeless mercy and aspiring to serve him. After that, I am offering my full obeisance to two of my guru-varga present here today – to Srila Bhakti Pavan Janardan Maharaj and Srila Bhakti Kusum Ashram Maharaj. I am also offering my obeisance to all my godbrothers, godsisters and devotees who have come, who have done this Sri Nabadwip Dham parikrama and assembled here to observe the festival of Sri Gaura Purnima. Offering obeisance at the holy feet of you all, I want to say a few words.

Those who have come for this parikrama and for the appearance festival of Sri Gauranga Mahaprabhu are truly fortunate. Having travelled through many universes, we have got this human birth now, and through some connection and relation with this Nabadwip Dham, we can get the association of our gurudev and Vaishnavs. This relation is not like the relation you see in the external world. The relationship with your guru, the relationship with devotees is not at all the same as the relationship you have with your father, mother, friends, brothers, sisters or other relatives.

In Bhagavan Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur's time, when they did this parikrama, everything was fine, but when the parikrama finished, Srila Prabhupad was very sad and would always hide somewhere. He was very sad because all the devotees had joined the parikrama, but after that, they would take out their return tickets and immediately leave – they were again going to the illusory environment and nobody knew if they were practising there properly or not. That is why, Srila Prabhupad always prayed to all the devotees, 'Please do not forget Krishna. Do not forget me. I have entered into some relationship with you during these seven days of the parikrama. Please remember that.'

Many of you took prasad today in the afternoon and wanted to leave. I hid in my room and locked the door because I could not imagine that they would leave immediately as soon as the parikrama finished. It is Gaura Purnima tomorrow, but many have already left. I was in my room at that time because everybody goes to rest after the parikrama, and I had to go to the market later, at two o'clock today. Everybody began knocking on my door at eleven–twelve o'clock – they were going back to their house, so they wanted to give me some pranami (donation). I was a little disturbed and annoyed by that because I was thinking, 'We have just done the parikrama. What is happening at their houses that they have to leave now all of a sudden?'

We all came back from the parikrama and went to rest. I also changed my clothes and stayed in a gumcha (I like wearing it when I am resting), but then people went crazy – they suddenly wanted to go home! They started knocking on my door to give me pranami. I told them, 'Stay at least for one more day, for Gaura Purnima. You have stayed here for five days, what will happen if you stay for at least one more day? Do you think somebody is going to take your house away during this time?' Suddenly, they became anxious to go back – so much Maya! Maya Devi and her influence are so strong! What can I say? Srila Prabhupad said, 'You do not need to go to your house! Is your house on fire? Even if it is on fire, then let it burn – even then you do not need to go there!'

Sincere Joy
'We are sad when others are happy and we always tells lies, but actually if somebody is preaching Krishna consciousness, it is good for us!'

Guru can turn a crow into Garuda. Guru can do anything—such faith is necessary
for our spiritual life.
