(5/7) Scriptural Evidence of Mahaprabhu's Advent His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
[After Srila B.P. Janardan Maharaj and Srila B.K. Ashram Maharaj speak about the glories of Sriman Mahaprabhu's appearance, His Divine Grace resumes his address.]
Jay Om Vishnupad Jagad-Guru Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami
Maharaj ki jay. [One of the present sannyasis prays to His Divine Grace for his blessing. Hearing it, His Divine Grace chuckles.] May Krishna always and Gurudev always bless you. I am always with you all. Is this sufficient? Depend upon me, and I am always with you, heart and soul.

mukam karoti vachalam pangum langhayate girim 'The dumb can speak, the lame can climb a hill—all it takes is mercy from Gurudev." (Bhavartha Dipika) First, I am offering my full obeisance at the lotus feet of my Divine Master Om Vishnupad Jagad-Guru Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj, begging him for his causeless mercy and aspiring to serve him. And I am also paying my obeisance to my guru-varga who are present here today: Srila Bhakti Pavan Janardan Maharaj and Srila Bhakti Kusum Ashram Maharaj. I am paying my obeisance to all of my sannyasi- and brahmachari-godbrothers, all my godbrothers and godsisters as well as all the devotees. I am paying my full obeisance to you all; please forgive my offences. Today is the holy appearance day of Sachinandan Gaurahari. We are present here today by His mercy.

sri-krsna-chaitanya-daya karaha vichara 'Just consider Sri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's mercy! If you do, you will feel astonished in your heart.' (Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita, 1.8.15) We have heard some things from the holy mouths of our guru-varga as well as from Srila Krishna Das Kaviraj Goswami and Srila Vrindavan Das Thakur, who composed main scriptures about Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. We are always indebted to them because they have described Mahaprabhu and Nityananda Prabhu in such a beautiful way. There is much evidence in various places, beginning from Mahabharata and Srimad Bhagavatam, that the Supreme Lord (Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu) comes in the Age of Kali. If we see those sources, we can understand that the Supreme Personality of Godhead personally makes His advent in Kali-yuga.
mahan prabhur vai purusah sattvasyesa pravartakah 'This personality is a great Lord, or Master. He reveals the path of wisdom. By His mercy, the purest, that is devoid of any faults, happiness can be attained. He is illustrious, that is inexhaustible, although He appears as a worshippable personality; He does not experience any loss or weakness (He is not perishable) like an ordinary embodied being.' (Svetasvatara, 2.12) Some say that Mahaprabhu was killed by the pandas in Puri, some say that Mahaprabhu was thrown into the ocean (have you never heard such things?), but this verse is the proof that Mahaprabhu does not possess an ordinary human body, He is not an ordinary human. It is said in the aurally transmitted scriptures that beautifully lustrous Sri Gaurasundar possesses golden bodily complexion.

yada pasyah pasyate rukma-varnam 'When one gets to see the Golden Creator of the Universe, the Master of the World, one attains, as the result of gaining transcendental knowledge, a pure and liberated state, washing away all conceptions of sins and piety born of mundane, worldly intelligence.' (Mundaka, 3.3) It is also written in Srimad Bhagavatam:
কৃষ্ণবর্ণং ত্বিষাঽকৃষ্ণং সাঙ্গোপাঙ্গাস্ত্রপার্ষদম্ ।
krsna-varnam tvisakrsnam 'There are always the two syllables of Krishna’s Name on His lips, His halo is non-black (that is, golden), and He is always surrounded by His limbs, secondary limbs, weapons and associates. Intelligent persons will worship this Great Personality through the fire sacrifice of congregational chanting of the Holy Name.' Full interpretation: 'In this Age of Kali, intelligent souls will always worship Sri Gaurasundar through sankirtan-yajna (the sacrifice of chanting the Holy Names). He appears as dark-complexioned (Krishna) but with a non-dark, or golden, halo (couched in the heart and halo of Sri Radha). Together with His associates, He searches for Krishna by chanting His Holy Names. His limbs (anga) are Sriman Nityananda Prabhu and Sri Advaita Prabhu; His accessory limbs (upanga) are Srivas Acharya and all pure devotees; His weapons (astra) are the words of the Holy Name; and His associates (parsada) are Sri Gadadhar, Sri Svarup Damodar, Ramananda, Sanatan, Rupa and others.' (Srimad Bhagavatam, 11.5.32) Srila Krishna Das Kaviraj Goswami also writes in Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita:
'কৃষ্ণ'—এই দুই বর্ণ সদা যাঁ'র মুখে ।
'krsna'—ei dui varna sada yan'ra mukhe 'The two syllables "krs-na" are always in His mouth; or, He constantly describes Krishna with great pleasure. His complexion is certainly not blackish. Indeed, His not being blackish indicates that His complexion is yellow (golden).' (Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita, 1.3.53, 56)
asan varnas trayo hy asya '[Garga Muni told Nanda Maharaj] Your son appeared in the other three ages assuming a form of white, red and yellow colour. And in this current Age of Dvapar, He has appeared in a form of a blackish colour.' (Srimad Bhagavatam, 10.8.13) The same is also said in Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita:
শুক্ল, রক্ত, কৃষ্ণ, পীত—ক্রমে চারি বর্ণ ।
sukla, rakta, krsna, pita—krame chari varna 'In each of the four ages (Satya, Treta, Dvapara and Kali), the Lord incarnates assuming a form of white, red, black and yellow colour, respectively. Assuming each of these four colours, Lord Krishna comes each time to reveal the religion for the age.' (Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita, 2.10.330)
