"They Cannot Steal Our Heart"

By the mercy of Srila Guru Maharaj, by the mercy of Gurudev, we have gathered here today at the Sevak Bhavan in Sri Chaitanya Krishnanushilana Sangha, Dum Dum Park, Kolkata.

You have all heard that since a few days ago when we were doing dham parikrama in South India, some critical situation has been going on now here. A sadhu's nature will be such that we must see happiness or sadness, good times or bad times as the same, as equal. No matter what, we must celebrate, we must chant, we must pray and do everything every day. These are our main things.

When some problem comes to our life, it means Srila Guru Maharaj and Srila Gurudev are testing us to see how much we can tolerate. Mahaprabhu's conception is to be humble, tolerant and give honour to others, then it is a test for us all to see how much we can tolerate in this kind of situation.

When we went to the fort of Hiranyakasipu, a demon, an asura, we saw also the place where Nrisinghadev appeared from. Actually, we do not have the eyes to see that place, but we went there to pay our obeisances. In the meantime, some demons came here (Sevak Bhavan, Kolkata) and took some of our material things. They can steal our material things—clothes, shoes, etc.—but they cannot steal our spiritual things, they cannot steal our heart, they cannot steal our preaching focus and that which is main for us. Material things are not important for us. Some people in this world want some money, want some things, want this and that, and they always search for material things, but we are not like that. They want to enjoy Krishna's things, devotees' things, but devotees do not enjoy such things—devotees always enjoy their practice. That is the main thing.

As you all have heard, when I left Nabadwip, I left as I was and did not bring anything with me. Since then, I have been staying here at Sevak Bhavan and by the mercy of Gurudev many temples have appeared in many places (Nabadwip, Mayapur, etc.). We go preaching to many places all the time, but now we are facing these problems and the time has come when we must recover the temple of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math.

Many devotees all over the world are helping me, and I am thanking them. Actually, as Gurudev said, to say thanks is very simple, but I am giving my cordial affection—from the bottom of my heart I am giving my humble obeisance at the lotus feet of those who are helping us at this critical moment. I am very glad that such help is coming to me by the mercy of Srila Gurudev and mercy of Srila Guru Maharaj. I am facing this kind of situation, but so many devotees are there with us at this time. There are also some devotees here who are staying with me. They too are tested to see how much we can tolerate.

Actually, they have been pushing and pushing me and I am now pushed against the wall, so I have come to last stage and now we have to do something. We are preparing now and trying to do something, but we still have to tolerate it a few days more. They think that me tolerating everything is a sign of my weakness, and now they have directly attacked the Sevak Bhavan here although we never disturb them—we do not take anything from them and do not know or even think what they do there. All those demons who disturbed our Mission in Srila Guru Maharaj's time and Srila Gurudev's time have now come together and disturb us, but I am very happy to be getting so much support from all of my well-wishers and friends all over the world.

Actually, I decided yesterday and told the devotees here that even if we have nothing we can take one flower and a Tulasi leaf and offer that to our Srila Gurudev and Srila Guru Maharaj, that is sufficient for us. I have told all the temples also (Ekachakra, Nrisingha Palli, Tarakeshwar, Vrindavan, Puri, Govardhan, etc.) that they should make a festival everywhere, and they are doing as much as they can, and so am I here in Sevak Bhavan. I could not make a programme in the media hall downstairs today, but I am making the programme in my room. When they broke in, they stole everything, even my shoes and bathroom soap [His Divine Grace chuckles]. I have to see a doctor every four months, and they have stolen my medical records too. You can see how much I am tolerating. In Nabadwip time, they also stole my danda, and I say, "No problem."

Anyhow, the main thing today is Srila Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj's glorification, and we should do that.
