All sannyasis should go for preaching from time to time, and actually not only sannyasis—brahmacharis, householders, everybody must engage themselves in service and go for preaching, go for sankirtan, go door to door.

You must not think that people are not giving even one rupee—it is not necessary to collect rupees. Even if you (a sannyasi or somebody else) go to some householder house and the householder kicks you out of their house, you must not be disheartened, you must not be discouraged because thanks to them your power of tolerance will improve. Sometimes when you go to collect for the temple, for the service of the Guru, some people will not give you anything, they will tell to get out, but that is not a problem—if they do it, then your power of tolerance will improve. These are the main things. Everybody should go for preaching, should go for sankirtan. If a sannyasi only sits and everybody serves him, that is not a sannyasi—a sannyasi must preach, must go out and do sankirtan. This is necessary.

Sannyasis must understand that they are the captains in our society. I often see that sannyasis always use their time sitting in tweeter, facebook, etc. They limit their activities to only facebook, tweeter, etc., but they do not go outside to preach, they do not go village to village, door to door. That is the main problem. Everybody is now busy with their computers, with their iphones, android phones, they only sit in tweeter, facebook, and youtube. These things are necessary, but it is also necessary to go preaching outside, village to village, door to door, house to house, college to college, university to university. This is how our preaching programme will increase. If it is not possible to go preaching outside every day, then you must go at least two-three days a week.

There was a rule, or a habit, in Gurudev's time that whenever somebody took second initiation, even if they came from a big rich family, or from the family of a big landlord, they had to go begging door to door. When we took brahman diksa (second initiation), we received this teaching from our Guru.

It is necessary to preach. If a sannysi only sits in the temple, does some management and puja, this is not right—it is also necessary to preach. Sometimes I see that brahmacharis and sannyasis are now becoming very independent—they want to stay alone because if you stay in a temple, the temple life has some rules and regulations (you have to wake up early in the morning, go for the mangal arati, chant kirtans, give the class, then do service, then again attend the programme at noon and in the late afternoon, then again go to arati in the evening, give the class, then rest). However, if you do this programme every day, if you live like this, then they will not get time to gossip—you will not have time to talk so much on the phone and you will not have time to be busy with your iphone. In Mahaprabhu's time, there was no iphone, in Mahaprabhu's time, there was not anything, and Gurudev also went preaching himself all over the world. I have some problem at present and I cannot come out of India in this position, but I am trying to get it solved very soon, and I think it will be resolved quickly. It is a very lengthy court process, and it is very difficult for me, otherwise I am not a man who likes to sit in one place—I always go to all our temples all over India, in Bengal and everywhere else; I go for preaching, I give Hari-katha, give classes, etc. Even being unable to travel abroad, I still do everything here.

I was busy today too, but Sripad Tyagi Maharaj requested me to give initiation to some devotees, otherwise I have some job outside and have to leave soon. I came back yesterday in the evening. It was Sunday. I left on Friday and visited many temples, many branches, then I was busy with some legal matters on Saturday, I had another meeting on Sunday, I was also busy. Everything is going on smoothly.

Srila Gurudev has now showed us how much tolerance we have, and Srila Gurudev wants me in the Nabadwip temple now. It is going to happen soon. I am waiting for that, and the time will come very soon. At this moment, I want the blessing from the devotees all over the world because I need to go to the Nabadwip temple. This is my heart and soul's desire, and that is my intention, that is my determination. One way or another, I have to go to the Nabadwip temple—even if they kill me, I will die there, it is not a problem.
