(2/2) Internal Purity
His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
I am wearing these clothes today, but tomorrow I will change my clothes and wear new ones. In the same way, we change our bodies. Today I am in a goat's body, tomorrow I will be in a cow's body, a cat's body, and so on. Travelling through all the various species, we have got a human birth this time. The Lord has not given us this rare human birth so that we can only eat, dress up and sleep. You can do this in all the other species – even dogs that live on the street can sleep, eat and increase their posterity. There is no end of enjoyment – no matter how much you enjoy, you will always want to enjoy more and more. But enjoyment belongs to Krishna (He is the proprietor of all enjoyment). I read in the newspaper the other day that CM Ramesh (a member of Parliament) arranged his son's wedding in Dubai. Both the groom's and the bride's families live in Delhi, but they went to Dubai to celebrate their wedding. To take everybody from India to Dubai, they hired fifteen aeroplanes! Where is the end of enjoyment? In our country, if a husband celebrates his wife's birthday, everybody will laugh at him, but Nita Ambani was presented by her husband with a huge aeroplane on her birthday! The aeroplane costs five–six billion rupees, and it is so big that you can even play badminton in it! So, there is no end to desires – you will always want to enjoy more and more and more. The Supreme Lord is the proprietor of all enjoyment. He lives in Vaikuntha and enjoys in an unlimited way. This is where we belong – we are all children of that home. We are all children of that Lord, and we must all come back there. It is possible to do this in this very human birth. If you can surrender fully to the Lord and, taking shelter of a bona fide guru, chant His Names, think about Him, chant His glories, then you can come to the Lord. There are many gurus in this world, but it is very rare to find a genuine disciple. One does not become a disciple just by taking a mantra from a guru. Genuine disciples are those who follow their guru's instructions, guidance and orders and who live serving their guru and Vaishnavs. If we can all become such genuine disciples surrendered at a genuine guru's holy feet and serve the Lord, we will attain supreme benefit and can return to the Lord. You must come for festivals. Nityananda Prabhu's festival is coming soon. After that, there will be Sri Nabadwip Dham parikrama. This parikrama is especially important for new devotees. Going to Nabadwip is not about going to see some beautiful buildings and other sights. You must come and do parikrama in the association of pure saints. Come and do Sri Nabadwip Dham parikrama every year. I have been doing this parikrama for thirty years or more already. There is also Sri Puri Dham parikrama for those devotees who have progressed in their spiritual lives; and Sri Vrindavan Dham parikrama is for those who have progressed even further. Come. Everybody should come for Sri Nabadwip Dham parikrama. Take care of yourselves. If you do Sri Nabadwip Dham parikrama, it will remove all dirt from your hearts. Why do you think you feel no taste for chanting the Holy Name? Why do so many desires and thoughts come to your mind instead? Because there is a lot of dirt accumulated in our hearts. For example, if you have fever, you will not have any appetite – everything will taste bitter. Similarly, we do not feel taste for chanting the Holy Name because we have so much dust accumulated in our hearts and neither the Lord nor Bhakti Devi will come to stay in a filthy place. To clean the place for them, we must chant the Holy Name in the association of sadhus. This is the reasons why I come to invite everybody to join Sri Nabadwip Dham parikrama. We had a very big programme yesterday. Local devotees work very hard at stone and marble factories, but they still tried hard to gather so many people and made a big festival. I came here last year, and I am coming here now the second time, and I can see how many more people there are here now. Many have become disciples, they come and stay at our temples. So, everybody can and should take advantage of this opportunity. I would like to finish here.
