Internal Relationship with Sri Guru

His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj
Speaking online to devotees in Singapore and Malaysia
1 January 2020

Actually, Gurudev's property is not his temple, buildings, car, etc. All this is not Gurudev's property. Gurudev's property is his heart, his love and affection. Gurudev has given me some of that property and I must distribute it to you all. This is very important.

Guru is the core of the disciple's heart. The relation between Gurudev and his disciple is very close, it is like paramour love. Such relationship must come. We always do what Gurudev wants. I always—every day, every minute—get some instruction or inspiration from my Gurudev, and I am trying to distribute that to you all.

I am very happy to see that some new devotees are also present here today. I am very happy to their mood and their smiling faces, it give me remembrance of Gurudev. I know that the Singaporean and Malaysian devotees do a lot of service, they also run a temple in Malaysia, they make all festivals. This is very important because it gives enthusiasm, utsaha. Utsaha is very important in our life. Sometimes, we feel we took initiation many years ago, but we are not getting any result. We should not think about the result. For example, when we offer bhog to the Deities (we offer a flower, some fruits, or rice, dal, some subji—it can be anything), we do not know if the Deity takes it or not, but we still keep offering bhog every day with love and affection. Actually, we do not know the Lord, but we know His representative (our Guru), and we can give our Gurudev what he likes; it can be anything—some fruit, rice, dal, subji, anything. Moreover, we can also at any moment supply whatever help he may need. It can be any service. For example, Gurudev sometimes reads a newspaper, and if somebody supplies that newspaper, it is also service, and at that moment Gurudev becomes very happy, "Oh that devotee has brought a newspaper for me!" It is a very simple service, it is virtually nothing, but even small service can make Gurudev happy. It is important to understand this.

There are many ways how you can give happiness to your Gurudev. We know how to make Gurudev happy—we can feed him, we can serve him, etc. and when Gurudev takes our service, that is our happiness. Gurudev is the representative of the Lord. We will not get any letter from the Lord, but we can tell everything to our Gurudev, and Gurudev will send our message to the Lord and convey to Him what we need. If some disciple does something wrong but then, realising his or her mistake, surrenders again and asks for forgiveness of his offence, Gurudev will never reject or hate them. Gurudev will again give them an opportunity to serve the Lord. This is the nature of a proper Guru. Not everybody is pure, we have so many faults and we make so many mistakes, but if we tell Gurudev about it openly, Gurudev will never reject us—he will give everything to us. This is the most important thing for us in our life.

Chanting: Maha-Mantra and Bhajans
'A girl came to me yesterday and argued with me: Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math follows mostly Guru, and Iskcon follows mostly Krishna; we chant so many bhajans, and they mostly chant Hare Krishna maha-mantra. I told her..'

Jaya 'guru-maharaja'
'Unanimously all of your godbrothers see within you the revelation of Sri Rupa and Srila Saraswati Thakur.'
জয় ‘গুরু-মহারাজ’

We have to pray to our Gurudev, 'So many people are going to Goloka Vrindavan, there is
so much place there. If you can keep me there as a blade of grass, that would be good.'
