Today is the appearance day of Vishnupriya Devi. You know that Vishnupriya Devi, who is Maharabhu's potency, appeared in Nabadwip Dham as a daughter of Sanatan Misra. It is also the appearance day of Srila Raghunath Das Goswami, Pundarik Vidyanidhi and Srila Raghunandan Thakur, and the disappearance day of Sri Visvanath Chakravarti today.

Sri Vishnupriya Devi sacrificed so much in her life. If she had not given Maharabhu, would we have known Mahaprabhu today? She gave Mahaprabhu to us. She knew that Mahaprabhu would take sannyas, but even knowing it, she was extremely dejected. She left everything to providence... Mahaprabhu comes in Kali-yuga as a combined form of Radha-Krishna. Krishna takes the heart and halo of Radha. One of the Names of Radharani is Gaurangi ("golden-limbed"), and there is a famous pranam-mantra:

তপ্ত কাঞ্চন গৌরাঙ্গী রাধে বৃন্দাবনেশ্বরী ।
বৃষভানু সুতে দেবী প্রনমামি হরিপ্রিয়ে ॥

tapta-kanchana-gaurangi radhe vrndavanesvari
vrsabhanu-sute devi pranamami hari-priye

"I offer my obeisance to the dearmost of Lord Hari. Daughter of King Vrisabhanu, She is known as Radha, the Mistress of Vrindavan, and Her limbs are of the molten golden colour."

After Mahaprabhu left Nabadwip, Sri Vishnupriya Devi would every day chant the Holy Name and with every Name chanted, she would keep aside a grain of rice. Then, she would cook whatever rice she had kept in this way, offered it to the Lord and took prasad. She spent her life in a very quiet way—she did not go to see anyone. She received Maharabhu's mercy and got the place of Mahaprabhu's potency (sakti)...

Today is also the appearance day of Srila Raghunath Das Goswami. You know that he appeared in Saptagram in the house of his father, Govardhan, and uncle, Hiranya. One day, Srila Raghunath Das Goswami came to see Mahaprabhu at the house of Advaita Prabhu—he actually wanted to stay with Mahaprabhu, but Mahaprabhu told him, "No, not now. Go back to your home, do not become crazy. Do not show monkey renunciation to impress others." Why did Mahaprabhu say "monkey renunciation" (markata-vairagya)? Because monkeys stay in the forest naked, eat fruits and roots and show no attachment to anything, but they have attachment in their minds—in Vrindavan, if they see you wearing glasses, they will steal them; or if you walk carrying a bag of fruit, they will come and snatch it. It is like that not only in Vrindavan—in other places also. So, Mahaprabhu said:

স্থির হঞা ঘরে যাও, না হও বাতুল ।

sthira hana ghare yao, na hao batula

"Go back to your home, do not become crazy."

(Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita, 2.16.237)

মর্কট-বৈরাগ্য না কর লোক দেখাঞা ।
যথাযোগ্য বিষয় ভুঞ্জ' অনাসক্ত হঞা ॥

markata-vairagya na kara loka dekhana
yatha-yogya visaya bhunja' anasakta hana

"Do not show your false renunciation to people. Serve accepting material things, but without attachment."

(Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita, 2.16.238)

"Your father comes to bring you back again and again, then do not show your father anything."

অন্তরে নিষ্ঠা কর, বাহ্যে লোক-ব্যবহার ।
অচিরাৎ কৃষ্ণ তোমায় করিবে উদ্ধার ॥

antare nistha kara, bahye loka-vyavahara
achirat krsna tomaya karibe uddhara

"Be fixed internally, and behave like everyone else externally. Krishna will rescue you soon."

(Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita, 2.16.239)

Becomes steadfast internally, but externally behave like everyone else—do not show to others the strong eagerness that has awakened in you towards the Lord." Srila Raghunath Goswami asked Mahaprabhu, "Then how will I come to You?" Mahaprabhu replied, "When the time comes, Krishna will reveal everything to you. If Krishna has bestowed His mercy on somebody, who can stop them?"...
