Sri Varaha Dvadasi, 6 February 2020, part 1
Translated from Bengali

মূকং করোতি বাচালং পঙ্গুং লঙ্ঘয়তে গিরিম্ ।
যৎকৃপা তমহং বন্দে শ্রীগুরুং দীনতারণম্ ॥

mukam karoti vachalam pangum langhayate girim

"The dumb can speak, the lame can climb a hill—all it takes is mercy from Gurudev."

(Bhavartha Dipika)

First of all, I am offering my full obeisance at the holy lotus feet of Om Vishnupad Jagad-Guru Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj, begging him for his causeless mercy, after that I am offering my obeisance to all Guru-varga, to all my God-brothers and sisters, to all the listeners, to all the motherly lady devotees, to all devotees, and I am praying to you all for your mercy to this low soul.

Today is the adhivas of Sriman Nityananda Prabhu's holy appearance day, and today is also Varaha Dvadasi—the appearance day of Lord Varahadev. You have heard the kirtan Dasavatara Stotram; there are ten incarnations of the Lord. Krishna assumed the form of Varahadev, a boar. The Supreme Lord can take different forms. The Lord manifests first as four-armed Narayan, then Vasudev, Mul-Sankarshan, then Aniruddha, Pradyumna, Sankarshan. From there, the Lord manifests Himself also as Garbhodakasayi Vishnu, Ksirodakasayi Vishnu, and Karanodakasayi Vishnu. There are all these various incarnations of the Lord. On today's day, we perform Varahadev's archan. Lord Varahadev likes very nice sweet rice, so we make and offer special sweet rice today after the archan. After that, we all break the fast.

You have come here as a result of a very great fortune. You have come here after so many births. Even having got a human birth—we have been born as humans many times before finally getting this birth here in Bharata Bhumi (India)—if we cannot serve the Lord, if we cannot worship the Lord, which is possible only in a human birth, if we cannot live this human birth properly, then we do not know where we will be demoted to next lifetime.

When you study at school or university, you must study the whole year—if you study only at the time of the exam, you will not pass; it is necessary to study regularly, little by little during the whole year. If you study regularly, every day, then you will definitely pass the exam. Our life is also like that. We serve every day, eternally. If you come for the festival, dance, chant kirtans—if you come once a year, chant, "Nitai! Nitai!"—but then you go back to your home and to your material life and forget everything, it will not work. Students study a little by little every day and at the end of the year they take an exam, when it is understood whether or not they have been studying diligently or not. In our spiritual life also, we must study and learn little by little every day.

Many of you cannot sing kirtans. Why? The Lord Himself says that it means you do not practise properly at home...

Ganga Mata Goswamini
'There was once a young girl, a daughter of a good Odisha king, who got much mercy from Jagannath. She always served in the Jagannath temple—made garlands and did whatever other service there was..'

Namo namah tulasi maharani
'The Lord does not accept even one of fifty-six grain offerings or thirty-six vegetable offerings without tulasi leaves.'
নমো নমঃ তুলসী মহারাণি

'Give me some power, some energy, some devotional activities, some devotion
so that I can serve your lotus feet until death.' That is our only hope and prayer
to the Guru. Nothing else.
