Give Your Life for Service His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
Devotee: Today is also the day when Sripad Parvat Maharaj left. Yes, it is very sad. He did so much service in Kolkata, he did collection for Gaura Purnima and that collection is still going on. Last year, Sripad Mahayogi Maharaj and Sripad Parivrajak Maharaj did it, and this year Sripad Parivrajak Maharaj and Sripad Sajjan Maharaj. Sripad Parvat Maharaj's receipt book is there and they go now and give the news that Sripad Parvat Maharaj is no more now, and they do some collection in his name. Sripad Parvat Maharaj had a cancer, and I am very sad to have lost his association. Srila Gurudev was very happy with his service, and I am also very happy with his service mood. He did a lot of collection, and he would not take a car—he would go by the metro and bus. He would go office to office, collecting donations for Gaura Purnima. He did this service every year, only last two years he could not come. He told me he was very sick and could not come. What can we do? It is Krishna's will—if Krishna takes somebody, who can stop Him? Sripad Parvat Maharaj's service finished here and Krishna took him to His place. We must always remember his service. I was very happy when he would come—he always came before Gaura Purnima. He would be present for Sriman Nityananda Prabhu's appearance day—he stayed with me in Ekachakra, then stayed in Sevak Bhavan in Kolkata, did some collection and joined the programme at Gaura Purnima. What can we do? Everybody has to leave this world, but for as many days as we stay in this world, we must serve the Lord, we must serve Vaishnavs and devotees, we must give love and affection to devotees. We must give our everything for the service to our Gurudev—we must give our heart, mind, body, speech, everything for the service of devotees and Srila Gurudev. This is how we must continue our spiritual life. Also, on this day of chida-dahi mahotsav, Raghav Pandit came there. He saw the festival was going on and Nityananda Prabhu was taking prasadam—he said to Nityananda Prabhu, "O Prabhu! I have cooked so many things for You at my house. Who will take it?" Nityananda Prabhu replied, "Raghunath is making this festival here now, I will stay here, but I can come to your house in the evening and take prasadam at your house then." Raghav Pandit's sister Damayanti made so many kinds of achar, kasandi, etc. (Now many devotees also send some achar to me.) Achar means pickle. She would make various kinds of pickles for Sri Chaitanya Mahaparbhu, and Raghav pandit would make one big box, put all the pickles in it, and carry it on his head all the way to Puri—he would walk there with Nityananda Prabhu and Sivananda Sen. They would reach Puri by Ratha-yatra time. Those preparations were famous as "Raghaver jhali" (Raghav Pandit's bags). When I go to Jagannath Puri and come to Gambhira, I also always get that prasadam from Raghav Pandit that they bring from Panihati to this day. I pray to Lord Nityananda Prabhu today that everybody, all of our devotees may be safe and secure because all over the world people are suffering so much. I saw today in the news that we have lost 2,500 of our fellow companions in Brazil and Mexico—2,500 people have expired today. In India also, 300-400 people expire every day. This virus is spreading now much to Mexico and Brazil, and here also it is increasing day by day. We must be careful with our health, especially those who are very old, who have some diseases and who do not have a very strong immune system. We must be always careful with this situation because this disease is increasing very much. Anyhow, by the mercy of Gurudev, we cannot stop our service. We still have to go to different places. What can we do? I have been today also to some devotees' house and I tried to keep some distance from them. This distance is not a distance from the heart or mind, it is only some distance from the body.
