At Sri Nandan Acharya Bhavan (3) His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
I remember Pujyapad Srila Goswami Maharaj's greatest disciple, Srila Bhakti Suhrid Akinchan Maharaj. Gurudev sent me to this temple in 1995 (that year was the centenary anniversary of Srila Sridhar Maharaj) to bring Srila Akinchan Maharaj from here and Srila Bhakti Kumud Shanta Maharaj from Srila Bhakti Pramode Puri Goswami Maharaj's Math (Srila Bhakti Kumud Shanta Maharaj was a disciple of Srila Prabhupad Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur, and at that time he did not have his own temple—it appeared later). I still remember Srila Bhakti Kumud Shanta Maharaj's Hari-katha—he would speak very happily. He lived as a brahmachari from eleven years old, and later (when he was twenty-one years old) he took sannyas. Also, Srila Bhakti Kiran Giri Maharaj was a disciple of Srila Bhakti Saranga Goswami Maharaj but later he took sannyas from our Param Guru Maharaj, Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj. He often lived at our temple and Gurudev gave him the charge of Sri Nabadwip Dham parikrama. I learned from him how to do this parikrama. It is impossible to do this parikrama unless you go together with devotees. When I went for the parikrama my first year, I would bring prasadam, I would learn how to do this parikrama, what Hari-katha is spoken. You cannot learn these things unless you hear attentively—it is necessary to hear what your Guru says attentively. Gurudev sent me to go on this parikrama together with Srila Giri Maharaj, "Go, do the parikrama with them. Learn how everything is arranged." At that time, Haricharan Prabhu used to manage this parikrama, I learned from him. In those days, the temple did not have a big car, so I would bring prasadam in a bullock cart. The temple would send some devotees to the temple of Jagannathdev one day ahead with a bullock cart—Haricharan Prabhu came with them and they started cooking the day before the parikrama came there. They did not cook anything much, just kitchuri. When they went to Rudradwip (this is our last stop for today, you will see this place), then they would also come one day ahead—they would take everything by boat and then bullock cart. At that time, there were not so many people at the parikrama, maybe 100-150 devotees, and they would feed them all kitchuri during the parikrama. Now, by the mercy and wish of Gurudev, we have a car and we bring prasadam from the temple... Anyhow, I have seen how they do parikrama, how they walk from our Nabadwip temple, and many of you were there too at that time. I had the fortune to see all these great personalities, but they have left this world now leaving this fallen soul here with you all. I am trying as much as I can to arrange everything...
