ঠাকুর বৈষ্ণব পদ অবনীর সুসম্পদ
শুন ভাই হঞা এক মনে ।
আশ্রয় লইয়া ভজে তারে কৃষ্ণ নাহি ত্যজে
আর সব মরে অকারণে ॥

thakura vaisnava pada avanira susampada
suna bhai hana eka mane
asraya laiya bhaje tare krsna nahi tyaje
ara saba mare akarane

"Brother, listen one-pointedly about the holy feet of Vaishnav Thakur, the greatest wealth there can ever be on earth. Krishna never leaves those who have taken shelter in them and worships them; everyone else simply dies in vain."

বৈষ্ণব চরণ-জল প্রেমভক্তি দিতে বল
আর কেহ নহে বলবন্ত ।
বৈষ্ণব চরণ-রেণু মস্তকে ভূষণ বিনু
আর নাহি ভূষণের অন্ত ॥

vaisnava charana-jala prema-bhakti dite bala
ara kena nahe balavanta
vaisnava charana-renu mastake bhusana binu
ara nahi bhusanera anta

"The water that washes the holy lotus feet of Vaishnavs can grant transcendental love; nobody else possesses such power. If you do have the dust from the holy lotus feet of Vaishnavs decorating your head, there is no value in any other ornaments."

তীর্থজল পবিত্র গুণে লিখিয়াছে পুরাণে
সে সব ভক্তির প্রবঞ্চন ।

tirtha-jala pavitra gune likhiyachhe purane
se saba bhaktira pravanchana

"The purifying qualities of the water from holy places is mentioned in Puranas, but all this is just a way of cheating yourself out of devotion."

It is written here that holy places are pure, and when you all go to the Ganges, you bathe or put some water on your heads, thinking all your sins will go away. It is written in Puranas that holy places can purify you, but it will cheat you out of devotion. You will not get devotion by putting water on your heads. Devotion comes from the dust from the holy feet of Vaishnavs. You must serve the feet of Vaishnavs, and it does not mean you must wash or massage their feet (literally serve their feet)—it means that you must live following the guidance of Vaishnavs. All the purifying qualities of holy places that are described in the scriptures are actually obstacles to attaining devotion...

বৈষ্ণবের পাদোদক সম নহে এই সব
যাতে হয় বাঞ্ছিত পূরণ ॥

vaisnavera padodaka sama nahe ei saba
yate haya vanchhita purana

"All this can never compare to the water that has washed the holy feet of Vaishnavs, which fulfils all wishes."

People always want to wash my feet—when I become a Vaishnav, then I will give you my feet. I have not been able to become a Vaishnav so far, so how can I let you wash my feet? I do not even allow anyone to touch my feet, what to speak of washing them... If you do such things (allow others wash your feet, touch your feet, etc.), then you will become proud. A Vaishnav will never say, "You must wash my feet," "You must worship me." All the water from holy places cannot compare to the water that has washed the holy feet of Vaishnavs.

বৈষ্ণব সঙ্গেতে মন আনন্দিত অনুক্ষণ
সদা হয় কৃষ্ণ পরসঙ্গ ।

vaisnava sangete mana anandita anuksana
sada haya krsna para-sanga

"In the association of Vaishnavs, my heart rejoices and I feel the association of Lord Krishna Himself."

When you associate with Vaishnavs, you feel joy. Even though we are struggling so much doing this parikrama, but because we are doing it together with you all, it gives great joy. When this parikrama finishes and you all leave, I always feel sad and think, "When will this day come again?"

বৈষ্ণব সঙ্গেতে মন আনন্দিত অনুক্ষণ
সদা হয় কৃষ্ণ পরসঙ্গ ।
দীন নরোত্তম কান্দে হিয়া ধৈর্য্য নাহি বান্ধে
মোর দশা কেন হৈল ভঙ্গ ॥

vaisnava sangete mana anandita anuksana
sada haya krsna para-sanga
dina narottama kande hiya dhairya nahi bandhe
mora dasa kena haila bhanga

"In the association of Vaishnavs, my heart rejoices and I feel the association of Lord Krishna Himself. Poor Narottam is crying, his heart can no long endure it. Why has my situation (my life) become broken?"
