Me-Eating His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
[Addressing a new devotee:] I am very happy to see you, it is very nice that you are joining good association—some sukriti will come to you through that. Because you have faith (sraddha), you are joining this programme, and that is very good for you. Later, you must take shelter of a bona fide guru (gurupadasraya), continue practising, and then you can come to your real home. Our real home is in Goloka Vrindavan. We are all children of nectar (amritasya-putra)—we come from nectar (amrita) and we must go back to that nectar. This is what he scriptures, Srimad Bhagavad-gita in particular say. We all must go to the place where we come from. Do you have any questions? Is there anything you want to know? Question [from another devotee]: We have one question. Some new devotees are coming to the programmes, but they eat meat and we tell them to give up meat. How can we better explain it to them? Yes, it is necessary to give up meat, fish, etc. If you eat any meat, it means you are a sinner—you are committing the same sin as when killing your own mother, father, killing brahmans, etc. In another way, if you eat meat, it means you take your own flesh. Do you understand what I am saying? You must avoid fish, meat, etc. otherwise when you eat meat, fish, mutton, etc. it means you are taking your own meat because when you leave this body, you will take a body of a chicken or sheep, etc. Eating meat means eating your own body. This is the scriptures say.
mam sa bhaksayitamutra "That creature whose flesh I am eating here and now will consume me in the next life.' Thus meat is called mamsa [mam—me, sa—he, I am eating him, he will eat me], as described by learned authorities." Very big Puranas say this. If you eat meat, chicken, mutton or any other kind of flesh, you are taking your own flesh, your own meat because when your body rots or is burnt, it will be mixed with soil and then another body of a chicken, a dog, a cat or some other animal will be produced from that soil. So, if you eat meat, you eat your own flesh and you commit the sin of killing brahmans, killing your mother, father, etc. It is the same as when you eat grains on ekadasi—when you eat grains on ekadasi, you also commit a sin equal to the sin of killing your own mother and father.
