We explained yesterday how we can improve our practising life, how we should practise. Adau sraddha, tatah sadhu-sanga, tatah bhajana-kriya, tatah anartha-nivrtti, tatah nistha, tata ruchi, prema, bhava, maha-bhava (first comes faith, then good association, then practice beings, then offences are removed, then comes steadiness, then taste, love, divine love, and great divine love). This is the way how we can can proceed and improve our practising life, our spiritual life. These are the main things in our spiritual life.

Sometimes, we can be distributing preaching in the proper way, but we ourselves cannot reach our goal, cannot reach our destination. This happens because of our mind. Sometimes some disturbance comes from our mind and the mind starts going in another direction, in its own way, that is why we cannot properly proceed towards our destination, we cannot practise properly. You must be firm in your mind—your mind must be determined. Your firm intention must be, "I must reach my proper destination!"

I told that day also [on His Divine Grace's Vyasa Puja day] that Gurudev has already given you the ticket to go to Goloka Vrindavan, but sometimes the train stops somewhere on the way and your mind tells you to get off the train. As a result, you cannot get to your destination at the proper time. Some disturbance happens, we follow our mind and we end up deferred.

Another time comes also when we become lazy, we want to live at leisure, and we want to get some relief from the service we are doing. As soon as we get that relief from service and there appears some vacancy, Maya Devi can attack us.

Therefore, practitioners must be always careful. We must be always alert so we may any time not fall prey to such circumstance. We must always stay attached to our service, we must always stay attached to our practice.

Perfect Character
'We sing [these songs], but it is not only singing. We have to practise it. Without practising we cannot become perfect.' Main qualities that are necessary for a sincere practitioner to nurture, and the main source of problems that is necessary to carefully avoid.
