No Such Thing as Personal Affairs

His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj
Kolkata-Worldwide, 3 May 2020, part 4

Question: To what extent should we involve Your Divine Grace into our personal material affairs?

You must be open—you must give everything to your Guru. Keep all your 'personal material affairs,' personal things, everything at your Guru's lotus feet. If you want to be an engineer, if you want to be a doctor, if you want to be a physicist, if you want to be a scientist, that is not a problem, but everything can be used for the service of the Lord. You should think how to transform these things into service to the Lord.

For example, before, in my childhood, I used to read so many story books. I always liked to read detective books, but now I am reading Upadesamrita of Srila Rupa Goswami. I have a habit to read books, and I read many books. You can see that they have stolen my books three-four times—I had to buy the books again, I collected many books through many ways.

So, I read and read, read and read, and I am realising what is written in books, I am getting the taste through that. The more I read, the more taste is coming—I feel more and more, more and more taste. It is beautiful. I relish more and more interesting things through reading, and I am enjoying with that.

Then, we must realise how we can involve ourselves, involve our own things in the service of the Lord. This is the main thing.

Path To Bhakti-Rasa
'Guru is always merciful. I do not want to drink the bhakti-rasa, I do not want to do Hari-bhajan, but he forcefully keeps me, at his lotus feet, at the lotus feet of Lord Krishna, this is his power.' What is the path to such mercy and how to walk it?.

Sujanarvuda-radhita-pada-yugam
'He is the best of the paramahamsas and the guardian of the supreme wealth (Krsna-prema). He accepted the robes of a sannyasi to deliver the fallen. His feet are served by the best of the sannyasis. Eternally I offer my obeisance to my master's feet.'
