Beyond Blind World His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
Everything depends upon faith. You have all got mercy from Guru Maharaj—you have got the bhakti-lata-bij,
ব্রহ্মাণ্ড ভ্রমিতে কোন ভাগ্যবান্ জীব ।
brahmanda bhramite kona bhagyavan jiva "Having travelled throughout the universe and got the mercy of Guru, Krishna, a fortunate soul receives a seed of the devotional creeper." (Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita, Madhya-lila, 19.151) You can see that we are Indian, somebody is American, somebody is Brazilian, somebody else is Russian—actually we all come from the same place, but we do not see it. "Aprakrta vastu nahe prakrta-gochara (অপ্রাকৃত বস্তু নহে প্রাকৃত-গোচর, Cc, 2.9.195): you cannot see the transcendental world with material eyes." Our eyes are full of dust and we cannot see with our eyes who anyone is—I do not know, I cannot see who you are, who he is, and so on. That is why in this Kali-yuga, Krishna comes Himself as Radha-Krishna's combined form, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. He came here and went door to door saying, "Do not sleep now! I have come to take you to My home! This is not your home! You have lost your house! This here is not your real address, your address is My home. You must go back to God, back to home! Come to me! Come back to me!" We are searching for Krishna, and Krishna is searching for His friends. We are all His friends, but since many days, years, since many births, we left Him and we are now going round and round in a cyclic order because of our karma. We are now scattered everywhere—you are in Saint Petersburg, somebody is in Siberia, somebody is in Bangladesh, somebody is in Pakistan, and so on—but we are actually all friends, we have come from Him. We are searching for Krishna, and Krishna is searching for us. You saw in Chaitanya-charitamrita (2.4.39), "Kabe asi' madhava ama karibe sevan (কবে আসি' মাধব আমা' করিবে সেবান)? When will Madhava come to Me, when will he come to serve Me?" Krishna Himself wants service from His servitor. That is why Radha-Krishna and Mahaprabhu came Themselves to Saint Petersburg—to this jungle, forest area near the Baltic sea—in a Deity form to take your service. Beauty always attracts us, always charms us. The Deities' form is Reality the Beautiful. There are five channels of perception—rupa, rasa, gandha, sabda, sparsa (form, taste, smell, sound, touch)—and we always go everywhere looking for beauty in this world. What we experience is not eternal—we must go for the transcendental, for the eternal things. Ants always go to the place where there is sugar. If you keep somewhere bags full of sugar, you will see one small ant going there to take this sugar. It eats some sugar and in fifteen minutes it is so full but still it cannot stop, "I will eat more! I will eat more! I will eat more!" We are like this too. We live and enjoy with these material worlds and think that this is so much joy and pleasure, we do not know anything more pleasant than this world. Guru Maharaj always says, "Who am I? Why am I suffering?" We must know this.
জীবের 'স্বরূপ' হয়—কৃষ্ণের 'নিত্যদাস' ।
jivera 'svarupa' haya—krsnera 'nitya-dasa' "By its intrinsic nature, the soul is an eternal servant of Krishna; souls come from the marginal energy of Krishna and are simultaneously one with and different from the Lord." (Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita, Madhya-lila, 20.108) "He is my Lord, and I am His servant." We can see light here in the temple room, but this light comes from outside, from one source that gives light (electricity) to so many other places. Imagine a dark house. If sun light comes to that dark house, the whole house will immediately be filled with light. Krishna is like the sun, and we, the jiva souls, are like sparkles of that light.
ঈশ্বরঃ পরমঃ কৃষ্ণঃ সচ্চিদানন্দবিগ্রহঃ ।
isvarah paramah krsnah sach-chid-ananda-vigrahah "Krishna, who is known as Govinda, is the supreme controller. He has an eternal, blissful, spiritual body. He is the origin of all. He has no other origin, for He is the prime cause of all causes." (Sri Brahma-samhita, 5.1) He is the cause of all causes. We do not know Mahaprabhu, we have not seen Mahaprabhu, but through our Gurudev we have got service to the Lord—to Sri Sri Guru Gauranga Radha Madhava-sundar—and this is our good fortune. He is so merciful to us, his ahaituki-krpa (causeless mercy) is like that of Nityananda Prabhu.
পৃথিবীতে আছে যত নগরাদি গ্রাম
prithivite achhe yata nagaradi grama "My Name will spread to every village and town on this earth." Mahaprabhu said, "My Holy Name will be preached everywhere, in the whole world, in every village," and we can understand that His Holy Name is now chanted all over this large world, from corner to corner. We could not conceive before that so many Russian people, like you all, are always chanting the Holy Name...
