Acme of Service His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
It is necessary to have faith, the strongest faith.
'শ্রদ্ধা' শব্দে—বিস্বাস কহে সুদৃঢ় নিশ্চয় ।
'sraddha'-sabde—visvasa kahe sudrdha nischaya "Sraddha is firm, determined faith that by service to Krishna all actions are accomplished." (Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita, Madhya-lila, 22.62) As I was telling the other day, sometimes, you may serve Lord Krishna and also worship Lord Ganesh, Lord Kartik, Lord Siva—you worship so many demigods, but you actually make ghuskar (bribe-takers) out of them because you always ask them to fulfil your material desires. This is not right. All demigods can only give you material happiness, but Kali and other demigods cannot give you eternal happiness; only Krishna can give you eternal happiness. That Krishna came in this Kali-yuga as Radha-Krishna's combined form, Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, and that Chaitanya Mahaprabhu practised what Radharani was practising—He experienced the separation from Krishna that Radharani feels.
শ্রীরাধায়াঃ প্রণয়মহিমা কীদৃশো বানয়ৈবা-
sri-radhayah pranaya-mahima kidrso vanayaivasvadyo "'What is that great glory of Sri Radha's love? What is My extraordinary loving sweetness and charm that Sri Radha enjoys? And what is the joy Sri Radha feels by experiencing My sweetness and charm?' Yearning to taste these three sentiments, the moon—Krishna-chandra—was born from the ocean of the womb of mother Sachi." (Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita, Adi-lila, 1.6)
কৃষ্ণবর্ণং ত্বিষাঽকৃষ্ণং সাঙ্গোপাঙ্গাস্ত্রপার্ষদম্ ।
krsna-varnam tvisakrsnam "Those of sharp intellect will worship Krishna who appears with a non-black bodily hue, who is armed and surrounded by His associates and servants, and who always chants the Holy Names." (Srimad Bhagavatam, 11.5.32) Mahaprabhu experienced the same feelings that Radharani felt when Krishna left Vrindavan. Mahaprabhu practised this in Puri, in Kashi Misra's house. Such separation should come to you also through your service. You can examine yourself and understand whether devotion is coming or not—ask yourself if you want to chant the Holy Name, if you want to chant kirtans or if you want to do gramya-katha, gramya-varta (hear and talk about gossips). If you practise properly, then that kind of condition—that kind of highest devotion—can also come to you. Following the guidance of a bona fide guru, through the service to Vaishnavs, you can get liberation, and through that you can go to your real home—it will be not necessary to be born and die, to come and go again and again; it will not be necessary to suffer from adhibhautik-, adhidaivik-, adhyatmik-jvala, আধিভৌতিক, আধিদৈবিক, আধ্যাত্মিক-জ্বালা (agonising miseries caused by your body, by the nature, and other souls)—you can go to your real home and be happy.
