It is necessary to understand what chastity is. No matter what happens, no matter what anybody does, we must always stay chaste. Our Guru Maharaj (Srila B.S. Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj) also went through this. When Srila Sridhar Maharaj declared Gurudev the next acharya, many doubted him, many were malicious towards him. Later all those people left the temple—they derailed from Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math's line. That is why, we always show patience, we always practise 'wait and see'. Patience is a great power.

Those who can live following Gurudev's words and instructions, become entitled for Gurudev's property. Gurudev's property is not the temple, great buildings, etc. Gurudev's property is Gurudev's love, affection, loving connection, his heart. Who can one chastise? When you love someone, you can chastise them. You cannot scold or rebuke someone if you do not have affection for the person, and when you have affection for someone, you have a heart for them. We must always think in this way. Anyhow, we will chant kirtans now, and after that, I will speak again about the relationship with the Guru. I will tell you what Gurudev told. We will talk about Gurudev's words, about the relationship with the Guru.

Gurudev is the centre of the disciple's heart. Always remember this. You can never get anything without the Guru. No matter what you do and how much you do, if the Guru is angry, nobody can protect you. I must understand, "I have a person who is my shelter. I have a place of shelter. I have taken shelter in a person, and as long as I stay in that shelter, even the Lord cannot do anything to me." We must always remember this.

Prahlad Maharaj is the witness of this. He was five years old. His mouth was closed, but he thought about the Lord all the time in his mind without saying anything. So many things happened to him—he was thrown into a pond, he was tied to an elephant's leg, he was thrown from a hill—but nothing happened to him.

Always remember these things. Become surrendered. Remember what I am telling you all the time. You are always busy with material talks, material news: this is material life...
