Gurudev has opened so many factories—there is so much service available at the Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math Factory, but it is necessary to have some fortune to be able to do this service. The Lord eats from the hand of those whom He chooses, He does not eat from anyone and everyone's hand. The Lord accepts those who have devotion.

ভক্তের জিনিষ প্রভু লুটিপুটি খায়
অভক্তের জিনিষ প্রভু উলটি নাহি খায়

"The Lord eats anything and everything when a devotee offers it, but the Lord does not want to take anything from a non-devotee."

(Based on Sri Chaitanya-bhagavata, 2.9.185)

The Lord accepts service only from devotees. Nondevotees cannot give anything to the Lord—they only say, "I am giving You this, and I want to get something in lieu of that." This is shopkeeper devotion. You tell a shopkeeper, "I am giving you fifteen rupees, give me a hundred grams oil," and the shopkeeper will give it to you. There is even a common saying, "Take anything you want—as long as you pay for it" (ফেলো কড়ি, মাখো তেল). This is how not it is with Gurudev. You must submit everything—your heart, soul, mind—at the holy feet of Sri Guru and Vaishnavs; otherwise, you will not get any result.

I heard something recently when was doing a programme in Basirhat. You know, the Lord is so beautiful and so merciful. When He was just a few days old, a demoness Putana was sent by Kamsa to kill Him. Have you heard about it? When Putana came to Krishna dressed as a gopi, Krishna became charmed and gave her the right to feed Him her breastmilk! He gave her the place of a mother. Putana had smeared poison on her breast, and Gopal knew everything. Do you think Gopal will die by taking poison? If we take poison, we cannot digest it and will die, but Gopal grasped her breast and began to suck it so hard (He had to take life out of her after all) that Putana cried, "Leave me! Let me go!" The Lord showed then, "I do not catch anyone so easily, but if I do catch someone, I do not let them go!" Eventually, Putana fled from the room. Gopal knew that He had to take her away from the house because if she had died in the room, it would cause a problem. So, Putana ran to a nearby field and collapsed there, dead. Putana had come to kill Krishna, and not only simply kill—she had come to murder a baby (it is an even worse crime), but Lord Krishna still bestowed His mercy on her. How can we understand that she received His mercy? Before Putana died, she assumed her enormous demoniac form. When we die, our bodies are burnt, but her body was too big to be burnt, so the Vraja-basis chopped it into pieces. When a human body is burnt, it smells very bad, but when Putana's body was being burnt, it emanated very nice fragrance of camphor and sandalwood in all four directions. This is how we can understand that the Lord had given Putana a transcendental body.

So, if the Lord catches somebody, He does not leave them. But it is necessary to become fit for being caught. Gurudev has given us the Holy Name, but can we keep this Holy Name? Our hearts are full of ego, our hearts are full of lust, anger, greed, illusion, madness, envy, jealousy. What Gurudev gives can never stay in such a place. That is why you must say: "I am extremely poor, I have no strength of intelligence—please hijack me (ami sakti-buddhi-hina, ami ati dina, kara more atmasatha)! O Gurudev! Please take me out of this material world and use me for the service of Radha-Govinda!"

Did you understand what I have been saying? This is how you must practise Krishna consciousness.
