(3/7) Gist of Guru-Mahima

Sriman Mahaprabhu told about Sri Nityananda Prabhu,

মদিরা যবনী যাদি নিত্যানন্দ ধরে ।
তথাপি ব্রহ্মার বন্দ্য কহিল তোমারে ॥

madira yavani yadi nityananda dhare
tathapi brahmara vandya kahila tomare

‘Even if Nityananda Prabhu comes drunk, with a Muslim lady by His side, He is always worshippable for Lord Brahma.’

(Sri Chaitanya-bhagavata, 3.6.123)

When one brahman was saying some bad things about Nityananda Prabhu, Mahaprabhu gave him this advice. He said, ‘If Nityananda Prabhu takes whiskey (some alcohol) and goes to a Muslim lady, Brahma will worship Him even then.’ This is what Sriman Mahaprabhu said about Sriman Nityananda Prabhu. Not only that, Mahaprabhu told that brahman, ‘Go and tell all your friends, all citizens of Nabadwip and everybody in this world what I have told you about Nityananda Prabhu!’

Try to understand the meaning of these words. That is guru-mahima (the glory of the guru), coming from Mahaprabhu’s lotus mouth. He told for everybody,

Even Lord Brahma also worships Nityananda Prabhu. And now so many devotees have come to the holy appearance place of this Nityananda Prabhu…
