Sri Nityananda's Supreme Mercy

His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj
Adhivas of Lord Nityananda Prabhu's Appearance, evening class
Sri Ekachakra Dham, 24 February 2021, part 11
Translated from Bengali

This is a very beautiful book (Sri Nityananda Mahimamrita)—there are writings of Gurudev, Guru Maharaj, Prabhupad here. I have told you all of the pastimes described here, including how Sri Nityananda Prabhu rescued Jagai and Madhai...

(His Divine Grace reads from Sri Nityananda Mahimamrita, 2nd expanded edition.)

Sri Nityananda Prabhu is my only hope. He is supremely magnanimous, He is merciful, and it is easy for us to receive His mercy. Sri Gaura Hari cannot reject somebody who has been approved by Sri Nityananda Prabhu, and when we get Sri Gauranga's mercy, Sri Radha-Krishna and Their pastimes that take place in Vrindavan will easily come to us. Our highest and innermost aspiration is to attain service to Srimati Radharani. To fulfil this aspiration, it is of foremost necessity to attain the servitude and service to Sri Nityananda Prabhu and Sri Nityananda Prabhu's representative, Sri Gurupadpadma, which is the foundation of our highest aspiration. When you make a house, it is necessary to first have a foundation. If the foundation is not good, then the house will not stand. Therefore, the mercy of Sri Nityananda Prabhu and the mercy of Gurudev are the real foundation. Our only duty is to attain the mercy of Sri Gurupadpadma.

Sri Nityananda Prabhu's mercy is such that He takes even the lowest meat-eaters on His lap. It exceeds even the mercy of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu! One may consider it superfluous or excessive because it is seen that Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu was reluctant to accept very heavy offenders. That is because He must always keep an eye on everything and maintain balance. However, there is no such consideration when it comes to Sri Nityananda Prabhu. Sri Nityananda Prabhu does not pay any attention to this, does not judge all these things—He gives divine love without any consideration! Mahaprabhu always considers who to give mercy and whom not to give, but Sri Nityananda Prabhu has no such consideration. He tells to chant the Holy Name to whoever He sees. Sri Nityananda Prabhu accepts with raised arms even those whom Mahaprabhu is reluctant to accept. Even Mahaprabhu becomes helpless then: Nitai wants to give mercy to somebody, then where will Mahaprabhu go (how can He avoid it)?

Mahaprabhu told to the followers of Sri Nityananda Prabhu:

মদিরা যবনী যাদি নিত্যানন্দ ধরে ।
তথাপি ব্রহ্মার বন্দ্য কহিল তোমারে ॥

madira yavani yadi nityananda dhare
tathapi brahmara vandya kahila tomare

"Even if Nityananda Prabhu takes a drunk lady by Her hand, He is always worshippable even for Lord Brahma."

Mahaprabhu said to the effect, "My mind, My heart is always at the lotus feet of Nitai. I eternally offer My obeisance at His feet." We have fallen into this illusory environment becoming slaves of Maya, and to rescue such fallen souls as ourselves, to save the souls from the clutches of the witch Maya, Mahaprabhu took sannyas. He ran behind fallen souls making them hear Krishna-nam and severing the noose of Maya. And Sri Nityananda Prabhu followed Mahaprabhu everywhere like a shadow and one by one took over all the great responsibilities of Mahaprabhu...

Sri Radhastami: Worship with Extreme Care
How to worship Radharani—how? Gurudev said, 'You must walk in Radharani's place on your head, not on your legs.' It is that kind of place, but how can we see it?

Thakura vaisnava-gana
'O worshippable Vaisnavas, I offer you this prayer. I am very fallen and misbehaved. Destiny has immersed me in the fearsome ocean of material existence. Please grab me by the hair and pull me to the shore.'
