মূকং করোতি বাচালং পঙ্গুং লঙ্ঘয়তে গিরিম্ ।
যৎকৃপা তমহং বন্দে শ্রীগুরুং দীনতারণম্ ॥

mukam karoti vachalam pangum langhayate girim
yat krpa tam aham vande sri-gurum dina-taranam

‘The dumb can speak, the lame can climb a hill – all it takes is mercy from gurudev.’

First of all, I am offering my full obeisance at the reddish holy lotus feet of Om Vishnupad Jagad-Guru Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj, begging him for his causeless mercy. After that, I am offering my obeisance to all guru-varga, to all my God-brothers and sisters, to all the listeners, to all the motherly lady devotees, to all devotees. I am praying to you all for your mercy to this lowly soul.

By the mercy of Sri Gurupadpadma, by the mercy of Sriman Nityananda Prabhu, we are present here today. Today is the final day of our festival. We have been observing the festival of Sriman Nityananda Prabhu’s appearance for the past four days. We came on the dasami day (the tenth lunar day), and today is chaturdasi (the fourteenth lunar day). We make this festival of Sriman Nityananda Prabhu in Sri Ekachakra Dham every year, from ekadasi to chaturdasi. Our two biggest festivals are here in Ekachakra (the appearance day of Sri Nityananda Prabhu) and in Nabadwip (the appearance day of Sri Gauranga Mahaprabhu).

It is very good that you all keep connection. Without Nityananda Prabhu’s mercy, we cannot enter the kingdom of spiritual life. It is first necessary to have Nityananda Prabhu’s mercy, and Nityananda Prabhu means Gurupadpadma. They are asraya-vigraha (worshippable embodiments of shelter). Without asraya-vigraha, we cannot get the mercy of visaya-vigraha (the embodiment of the object of worship). So, if you want to practise Krishna consciousness or serve the Lord without strict adherence to gurudev, it is means foolishly bypassing the right channel (ghoda dingiye ghas khawa; ঘোড়া ডিঙিয়ে ঘাস খাওয়া). You cannot worship Gauranga bypassing the guru.

We always want to stay close to the mercy of our guru, Vaishnavs and Nityananda Prabhu.
