Mission in Sri Ekachakra Dham

Nityananda Prabhu bestowed his mercy all over the world. Our Param Gurudev Srila Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj was first to recognise that Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Maharaj Prabhupad was a saktya-vesha avatar of Sriman Nityananda Prabhu. He gave this title to Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Maharaj Prabhupad.

We can see the influence of Sriman Nityananda Prabhu even in Srila Sridhar Maharaj's life also. When he got a message from Srila Prabhupad Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur and finished his bhajan in Nandagram, Pavan Sarovar, he came to Koladwip, Nabadwip, and opened a centre, Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math. After that, many godbrothers and many followers wanted to receive (sannyas or diksa) initiation from Srila Sridhar Maharaj, but Srila Sridhar Maharaj did not agree. Then, one day he went to Ekachakra to ask Sriman Nityananda Prabhu whether he should give initiation or not. When he came there an asked Sriman Nityananda Prabhu for His mercy, Sriman Nityananda Prabhu told him, "You have already got so much mercy from Bhagavan Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur. First distribute the mercy you have got, then you can come and ask Me for mercy." After that, Srila Sridhar Maharaj came back to the temple and started to give initiations and sannyas.

We can understand from all of this how glorious Sriman Nityananda Prabhu is. I have also heard from Gurudev that in Srila Sridhar Maharaj's time the temple condition was very poor—at that time, Sakhi Charan Prabhu Bhakti Vijay (a disciple of Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur and godbrother of Srila Sridhar Maharaj) used to give Srila Sridhar Maharaj ten rupees per month for the expenses of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math. Srila Sridhar Maharaj used to save something from that money and send a five rupee money order through the post office to Ekachakra on every appearance day festival of Sriman Nityananda Prabhu. I have heard about this from Gurudev.

I came to Ekachakra for the first time in 2004, and Gurudev also visited Ekachakra before that. Before starting his world tours, Gurudev went to preach in some village near Ekachakra, and at that time he came to visit Sriman Nityananda Prabhu's appearance place—he came to pay obeisance there. Gurudev started his world tours in 1992, so this was 1989 or 1990. Later, when I came with some foreign devotees to Ekachakra in 2004, I decided to make a branch of Chaitanya Saraswat Mat there, but at that time Gurudev did not agree so much. However, when Gurudev went on his last world tour in 2007, he was very sick in America. He phone called me from America and gave me permission to try to buy a land in Nityananda Prabhu's place and start the mission branch there.

I bought the land where our temple stands in January 2008. That year, the land was vacant, and we made a festival programme in a pandal. Gurudev saw the programme through live video broadcast, and he was very happy. He was always very eager to come to Ekachakra, but due to his health condition he could not come. He saw the guesthouse building though. He told me, "Before making the temple, you must first make a guesthouse for devotees, and its name will be Sri Sri Hadai Pandit Padmavati Smriti Kunj." This is how Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math happened in Ekachakra.

The temple was finished and the Deities were inaugurated after Gurudev left this world. The Deities there are Sri Sri Guru Gaura Nityananda jiu (Gaura Nitai). They are very beautiful and very big deities. Everybody knows it, everybody has seen Them. Actually, Gurudev gave the measurement for the Deities, it was not my idea. Gurudev made the Deities of the actual measurement as Gauranga and Nityananda are. Gurudev also personally chose the person who would make the Deities and gave the measurement to that man. It is all Gurudev's vision—everything is coming from Gurudev. The Deities in Ekachakra manifested Themselves in a very beautiful form. All acharyas from various Gaudiya Maths, from Iskcon also, have seen those Deities and they were all very impressed to have the darshan of Sri Sri Gaura Nityananda jiu. This is how Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math in Sri Ekachakra Dham appeared...
