SRI GAUDIYA GITANJALI : SRIMAN MAHAPRABHU VANDANA
kabe gaura-vane, suradhuni-tate,
‘ha radhe ha krsna’ ba’le
kandiya bedaba, deha-sukha chhadi’,
nana-latataru-tale [1]
When will I leave all bodily pleasures and cry, ‘O Radha! O Krishna!’,
roaming the places of Gaura’s pastimes on the banks of the Ganges, at the
foot of various sal trees?
svapacha-grhete, magiya khaiba,
piba sarasvati jala
puline puline, gadagadi diba,
kari’ krsna-kolahala [2]
I will eat by begging food from the houses of dog-eating chandals and
drink water from the Saraswati. I will roll on the banks of the Ganga,
creating a tumultuous vibration of Krishna’s Name.
dhama-basi jane, pranati kariya,
magiba krpara lesa
vaisnava-charana- renu gaya makhi,
dhari’ avadhuta-vesa [3]
I will offer obeisance to the residents of the holy land and beg them for a
drop of mercy. I will smear the dust from the holy lotus feet of Vaishnavs on
my body and wear the garb of an avadhut.
gauda-vraja-jane, bheda na heriba,
haiba varaja-basi
dhamera svarupa, sphuribe nayane,
haiba radhara dasi [4]
Seeing no difference between the associates of the Lord residing in Gauda and
Vraja, I will become a resident of Vraja. The Lord’s abode will manifest
itself before my eyes, and I will become Radha’s maidservant.
