Keep the Fire On

I heard that you are preaching very nicely. Also, Gurudev's Vyasa Puja, appearance day, is coming soon... You are trying so hard there and I am also praying to Gurudev that you can preach there. It is jive daya—if you can engage people in service, if you can engage and bring new people from there in connection with our temple, it will be good for us.

You are preaching properly and trying, but it is good if you sometimes do some kirtan, go outside on a parikrama, make some flyers, leaflets, some brochures and tell people about Hari-katha. In this way, you all can go door to door, house to house. I heard you may open a centre there, that is good, but actually opening centre means sometimes people must go door to door, must do street sankirtan, then people will be so much attracted—more people will come through the street sankirtan, through parikramas. I do not know what the rules in your country are, but you can go to some park, for example.

I heard you are trying so much, and I am very happy with that. Try to come to India also from time to time, send some devotees here—they will get energy from here. That will be good. Vaishnav seva and Nama sankirtan are the main things. Vaishnav seva means you must follow the instruction of the Vaishnav and Gurudev, do what they tell you to do. I am very happy with ***, she is engaging others in service, inviting people to come to the temple and preaching Krishna consciousness, that is good for our mission.

You know that and you must remember it also—you think there are only a few people, but one day people will come. When Srila Sridhar Maharaj opened the temple he was alone, Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur also started alone, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Maharaj went to America alone and then a big mission, ISKCON, came out. So, as Srila Sridhar Maharaj used to say, "Start the fire, the wind will come (agun jvala vatasa asbe, আগুন জ্বালা বাতাস আসবে)." Start the fire and keep the fire on, the wind will come. Do you understand? Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur also said, "Even if your boat is going to sink, you must still continue rowing." So, do not stop, you must continue going forward. Suppose you are swimming; you think, "We cannot do it, we will sink!" but no! Until you get to the bank you must continue swimming!

You are preaching, going to open a centre, I am very happy to hear that. I can also sometimes send a preacher to you, and you can come here from time to time, you can send some devotees here to Nabadwip—they can stay with me for a few months, a few days and they will get energy through that. It will be good.

"Out of ten million karmis there is only one wise person..." If somebody (be it a man or a lady) is a good practitioner, then such a great devotee, great personality, great Vaishnav can rescue all planet. Do you understand it? It is possible.
