It is our great fortune that our Sri Gurupadpadma has established a temple here. Srila Prabhupad Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur wanted to open a temple in Ekachakra, but he stayed in this world only for sixty-four years and could not do it. However, with the blessing of our Sri Gurupadpadma, this very beautiful temple has now been open here, and the service to Nitai-Gaura is continuing here every day properly.

You have come here for a few days, so please stay here giving up all gramya-katha, avoiding listening to any gramya-varta. Do not have any material, 'village' talks, do not to listen to any material, 'village' news, do not discuss the matters of your material family or home. All such talks will not help you in any way, will not give you anything. You have much time to discuss all those things, but today it is necessary to talk about Nityananda Prabhu. This is what we must talk about and listen to.

Srila Narottam Das Thakur sang:

নিতাইয়ের চরণ সত্য, তাঁহার সেবক নিত্য,
নিতাই-পদ সদা কর আশ,

nitaiyer charana satya, tahara sevaka nitya,
nitai-pada sada kara asa

'The lotus feet of Nityananda Prabhu are the truth, and His servitor is eternal. Always aspire for His lotus feet.'

অহঙ্কারে মত্ত হৈঞা, নিতাইপদ পাসরিয়া,
অসত্যেরে সত্য করি মানি ।

ahankare matta haina, nitai-pada pasariya,
asatyere satya kari' mani

'Maddened with pride, forgetting Nitai's feet, I accept untruth as truth.'

'My house', 'my room', 'my son', 'my family', 'my wife' – we are aways engrossed in all this. People always live satisfying their senses. Instead of thinking about the interests of the temple, they think about the interests of their own home: instead of serving the temple, they live engrossed in the service to their homes. People are always serving Maya, illusory environment. Becoming servants and maidservants of Maya, they always serve Maya...

I told you yesterday about it. What is Maya's play like? If you put a piece of iron into fire, the iron will become red, which means that the iron takes on the power of fire, and if you touch that red-hot piece of iron to somebody's body or a cloth, it will burn it. Where does iron get this kind of power? From fire. In the same way, getting her power from the Lord, Maya deceives us and takes us away from the Lord's service, she moves us away and keeps us far away from the Lord's service. But the Lord is the master of Maya Devi, and He is the master of devotees. So, if some fortunate soul surrenders to the holy feet of Nitai, to the holy feet of the Lord, then Maya Devi will slowly run away, she will not be able to attack again. But even then she will still continue looking for a hole through which she can enter. Just as ants always look for a hole through which they can enter, just as snakes always look for a hole in the ground through which they can enter; in the same way, Maya Devi always looks for a hole in our lives through which she can enter and stop us, through which she can enter and cheat us out of the Lord's service.

If you do not want to fall prey to Maya, if you do not want to live in Maya's bondage, then you must always chant kirtan. Not only once a day, not only one time! You must always chant:

নিতাই-পদকমল কোটীচন্দ্র-সুশীতল
যে ছায়ায় জগত জুড়ায় ।
হেন নিতাই বিনে ভাই রাধাকৃষ্ণ পাইতে নাই
দৃঢ় করি ধর নিতাইর পায় ॥

nitai-pada-kamala, koti chandra-susitala,
ye chhayaya jagata judaya
hena nitai bine bhai radha-krsna paite nai
drdha kari' dhara nitaira paya

'Cooling like ten million moons, Nitai's lotus feet soothe the world with their shade. O brother! Without Nitai, you cannot reach Radha-Krishna. Firmly grasp Nitai's feet.'

It is necessary to 'firmly grasp Nitai's feet' – we must genuinely hold onto His feet. It will not do if you just clasp His feet and then sit aside. It is necessary to have firm, the firmest faith (sudrdha-sraddha). We must worship Nitai's feet with the firmest faith. You must understand the meaning of this kirtan.

নিতাই-পদকমল কোটীচন্দ্র-সুশীতল
যে ছায়ায় জগত জুড়ায় ।
হেন নিতাই বিনে ভাই রাধাকৃষ্ণ পাইতে নাই
দৃঢ় করি ধর নিতাইর পায় ॥

ধর নিতাইয়ের চরণ দুঃখানি ॥

ahankare matta haina, nitai-pada pasariya,

nitaiyer karuna habe, vraje radha-krsna pabe,
dhara nitaiyera charana duhkhani

'Intoxicated with ego, I have forgotten Nitai's feet and taken untruth for the truth. If you get Nitai's mercy, you will get Radha-Krishna in Vraja. O miserable soul, hold onto Nitai's feet!'

You must always sing this in your mind.

নিতাই গুণমণি আমার নিতাই গুণমণি ।
আনিয়া প্রেমের বন্যা ভাসাল অবনী ॥

nitai guna-mani amara nitai guna-mani
aniya premera vanya bhasala avani

'O jewel of all good qualities, Nitai! O my jewel of all good-qualities, my Nitai! You have brought and flooded the whole world with divine love for the Lord.'

প্রেমবন্যা লয়ে নিতাই আইল গৌড় দেশে ।
ডুবিল ভকতগণ দীনহীন ভাসে ॥

prema-vanya laye nitai aila gauda dese
dubila bhakata-gana dina-hina bhase

'You have come to the land of Gauda with a flood of divine love and have immersed in it all devotees and fallen and bereft souls.'

আমারে কিনিয়া লহ ভজ গৌরহরি ॥

amare kiniya laha bhaja gaura hari

'I will be sold to you, please accept and serve Gaurahari!'

(Sriman Nityananda Prabhu)

Nityananda Prabhu says, 'You can buy Me! You can buy Me if you serve Gauranga!'
