Question: Why do I see others' faults?

Answer: Being unable to rectify my own mind, I look for faults in others.

Question: Where is a holy place?

Answer: Srila Prabhupad told in this regard, "A holy place is where there is Hari-katha." A holy place is wherever a Vaishnav is.

Question: Why does Maya attack us?

Answer: Srila Prahupad said, "The moment we lose our guardian, the enemies surrounding us will attack us. Our protector is Hari-katha from the mouths of real devotees."

You must always remember this. Listening to Hari-katha from the holy mouths of genuine sadhus is what is called sadhu-sanga. Sadhu-sanga is not about sleeping with the person on the same bed or eating with the person from the same plate. Sadhu-sanga means listening to Hari-katha (discourses about the Lord) from the holy mouths of saints.

[A phone call comes.] Dandavat, Maharaj. No, why would you think I am angry? I am busy right now – on that day [on Srila Prabhupad's appearance day], I had a programme in Hooghly district attended by a few hundred devotees. Maharaj, I am busy preaching Srila Prabhupad's teachings. Why will I go there only out of duty for my own fame and establishment? I am always with you all, Maharaj. I am always with you all. Please do not worry. Tell everybody that I will always be with you all. As long as I am alive in this world, I want to spend my whole life staying with you all; otherwise, it is better to die. ‘Vaisnava sangete mana anandita anuksana (বৈষ্ণব সঙ্গেতে মন আনন্দিত অনুক্ষণ). My mind is always joyful in the association of Vaishnavs’ (Srila Narottam Das Thakur). I have not seen the photographs from the programme yet, I have not got the time, but I will have a look.

Question: If Sriman Mahaprabhu is Krishna Himself, then if we worship Sriman Mahaprabhu, everything is achieved—what is the necessity to worship Krishna separately?

Answer: Those who think like this discriminate between Krishna and Gaura. There are many people who pretend to be followers of Gaura and say things like this in delirium—this is not worship of Gaura, it is nothing but deceit and pretence. Imagining something is bigger than Krishna is a concoction or illusion. Actually, a servant worships Gaura before worshipping Krishna, and when the eternally liberated souls worship Gaura, it is the same as worship of Krishna.

We must always remember this. If you do not understand this, you will never be able to achieve anything.

We have been averse to Lord Krishna since time immemorial. We forgot the Lord, and as the result of this forgetfulness, we are attacked by Maya. Only those who can genuinely practise Krishna consciousness despite all the great unhappiness and trouble are truly fortunate – such fortunate souls become released from the illusory environment and get a chance to take part in the service to the Lord in Goloka Vrindavan. We are all children of one father. We all come from the Lord. The Lord is the father and the mother of all living entities. 'Krsna mata, krsna pita, krsna prana dhana (কৃষ্ণ মাতা, কৃষ্ণ পিতা, কৃষ্ণ প্রাণ ধন). Krishna is my mother, Krishna is my father, Krishna is my very life and wealth.' We must always take part in His service. We must never forget about it. Because we forget the Lord we suffer from the burning agony of the threefold miseries, and the only way to get out of this suffering is to surrender at the holy feet of the Lord. Other than that there is no other way. So, service to Lord Krishna is our main purpose in life, and we must all take part in it.
