His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj
Sri Nrisingha Palli, evening class
19 March 2019, part 4
Translated from Bengali

What problem did you have? If we chant kirtan here for ten–fifteen minutes and you come and chant with us, it is good for you. I do not wish anything bad for you. We went to Srila Vrindavan Das Thakur's holy place in Mamgachi, Modadrumdwip, with the parikrama today, but I wanted you to take prasad first. We could have come to the temple and eaten here, but we brought prasad for you there in lorries. It was a little late, that is why I first gave you prasad. The buses had already come to pick us up, but I told you, 'Come to Srila Vrindavan Das Thakur's temple after taking prasad, I will tell you about Mamgachi.' Even if we cannot speak there, but we can come and pay our obeisance at his holy place – Srila Vrindavan Das Thakur and Sriman Nityananda Prabhu will know that we have come there.

We were in Chapahati today. You heard about Jayadev and Padmavati there. You have also heard many lila-kirtans about them. It was there that Jayadev wrote the verse 'Dehi pada pallavam udaram (দেহি পদপল্লবমুদারম্). I place Your soft feet on My head.' He was going to write it, but suddenly he forgot what he was about to write. He told his wife, 'I am going to have a bath. Please keep some prasad for me, I will take it when I come back.' He left to have a bath. In the meantime, assuming the form of Jayadev, Supreme Lord Sri Krishna came to the house and said to Jayadev's wife, 'Is prasad ready? Let Me eat now.' Having taken prasad, He then went to the room where Jayadev was composing his Gita Govinda. We sometimes sing the 'Dasavatara Stotram' and another very high-level song composed by Srila Jayadev Goswami. Jayadev is a madhura-rasa devotee, so he wrote about very high things, such as Krishna-prema. 'Where am I to go to find Krishna?' Srila Madhavendra Puripad also lamented, 'Where am I to go to find Krishna? Where shall I find Kana?' His chest was bursting in the agony of divine love. They feel as if their heart was being stifled because they could not get the darshan of the Lord! So, when Jayadev hesitated to write those words in his song, Lord Krishna personally came there and wrote them. After a while, the real Jayadev came home and told his wife, 'Is prasad ready?' Padmavati Devi was surprised, 'What are you talking about? You have just taken prasad! You took prasad and went to your room...' Jayadev Goswami thought, 'What is the matter? I have not come... What are you saying?' Then, he took some prasad and went to his room. There, he saw that the line he could not finished was written down... We spoke about this pastime when we went to Chapahati, situated in Ritudwip.

I began telling you about a brahman's service and the result of service. There was a brahman in Dvapar-yuga who would serve the holy lotus feet of Radha-Govinda with champa flowers. One day, Lord Krishna gave him His darshan in the form of Gaurahari. The Lord told the brahman, 'I will come in this form in Kali-yuga.' The brahman became anxious, 'When will that Kali-yuga come? I will not live to see it! I will not stay much longer in this world...' Then the Lord again told him, 'Do not worry, do not cry. When I come as Gaurahari, you will also come as My associate.' In Mahaprabhu's time, that brahman appeared as Dvija Vaninath. This Dvija Vaninath installed the Deities of Gaura-Gadadhar. At the same time, this Dvija Vaninath was also a gopi (a sakhi, girlfriend, of Radha) in Dvapar-yuga. His name was Kamalekha...

We chant in one of the kirtans:

শ্রীকৃষ্ণচৈতন্য প্রভু জীবে দয়া করি' ।
স্বপার্ষদ স্বীয় ধাম সহ অবতরি ॥

sri-krsna-chaitanya prabhu jive daya kari'
svaparsada sviya dhama saha avatari

'Being merciful to the souls, Sri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu descends with His associates and abode.'

(Saranagati, Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur)

This is how the Lord comes in this world – together with His associates and divine abode.

When Dvija Vaninath, who installed Gaura-Gadadhar's Deities, left, his Deities' worship became eventually neglected, and the Deities were kept in a jungle. Then, Prabhupad Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Saraswati Thakur rescued those Deities, built a temple for Them and re-established Their worship.

Devotees' Love
'In this age, people live in family life, they love each other, but in this world when somebody loves somebody, it is for their own selfish interest, but Mahaprabhu's interest, Mahaprabhu's love and affection is not like that.'

Follow Gurudev's instruction, with sincerity, humility, and dedication. If you have humility, sincerity, and dedication, then automatically you can become attached to your Guru.
