Eagerness and Enthusiasm

When, becoming captured by the vision of the land of service, where the Lord is the master and jiva souls are His servants, jiva souls engage in Nama-sankirtan as instructed by Sri Gaura and their hearts become cleansed and filled with pure goodness. The Lord is my master, and I am His servant—we must always remember this. We are His eternal servants. You must not forget it. We are not masters, we are not controllers—He is the controller. He is always controlling everything and doing everything.

If those who have no offences and are close followers of Gauranga Mahaprabhu chant the Holy Name following the rules and regulations set by Gurudev, they can very quickly become spiritually successful and receive the mercy of and divine love for Lord Sri Krishna. If you can establish yourself in the land of service, you will receive the right to chant the Holy Name and chant the glories of the Lord. You must have eagerness for service. Eagerness and enthusiasm are the main qualities.

It is those who have eagerness and enthusiasm that have come. You cannot get Nityananda Prabhu's mercy by sitting at home and doing nothing—it is necessary to step forward. You must come forward. If you only think about material things—about your wife, sons, friends, relatives—if you waste your time on this at every moment, then your days will pass in vain, what will you do? If you only think about body (deha) and home (geha), where will that take you? We follow and live in subservience to that which is related to this body—if we always run behind the body that dogs and jackals will feast on, then we will not be able to understand anything. My heart and soul will not go to Krishna, my soul will not be able to become attracted and pulled to Krishna.

If you practise and practise—if you keep listening Hari-katha—memory of Krishna will arise within you. If you listen to Hari-katha from the holy mouth of sadhus and the Guru, then it will arise. Therefore, you must all come for Gaura Dham parikrama. You know, Srila Guru Maharaj told me, "You have made such a big nat mandir, but where are your people to fill it?" I can see today that the whole nat mandir is full of black-haired heads—there is no place even for a mustard seed to fall (the place is crammed). Now the nat mandir is full, and you all are very fortunate: you have come here by the mercy of Nityananda Prabhu. You have enthusiasm, you have eagerness. You do not get all this with money or any wealth. All this does not come by any money or wealth...
