Proper Preaching His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
Last programme I said something about *** taking Gurudev's hair, but some misunderstood it thinking that *** has made an offence. Both he and his wife have so much attachment because they both personally served Gurudev in Gurudev's last days, and when they and I were taking Gurudev's eternal body in the ambulance from Dum Dum Park to Nabadwip, there was very much separation, so after that they did something with a lock of Gurudev's hair. It is not actually an offence. Gurudev allowed it in his lifetime, so it is not a problem. You do not need to think, "Oh, he has made an offence! This is such a big offence!" No. I read what is published at Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math International website. Somebody can think, "Oh, we are taking that hair to the bathroom, it is not good," at the same time we sometimes also clean Gurudev's stool, and that is also service. Actually, it is not necessary to gossip about all this. [Addressing devotees in London] ...Can you not make brahmacharis in London? Devotee: It is not so easy! I do not know why... Because there is too much maya. If you practise Krishna consciousness without the guidance of Gurudev, then your practise will be the practise of Maya (worship of illusion). Always have chastity, always be sincere. You must be a sincere seeker, you must have chastity. I am telling this not only for the London devotees, but everybody. It is necessary to be a sincere seeker and to have chastity, then there will be no problems—if you make a temple or preach in this way, Krishna will send people. Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur opened sixty-four temples, and so many brahmacharis and sannyasis joined at that time. So, if you preach properly, it will not be necessary to hire anybody from outside. It is necessary to practise Krishna consciousness. Sravanam, kirtanam, smaranam, pada-sevanam, archanam, vandanam, dasyam, sakhyam, atma-nivedanam—hearing, chanting, remembering the Lord, serving the Lord's lotus feet, worshipping the Deity of the Lord, offering obeisance, rendering service as a servitor, as a friend, and self-submission. Sravan and kirtan are the main necessary practices. It is necessary to practise sravan and kirtan through good association. "Guru-mukha-padma-vakya, chittete kariya aikya ara na kariha mane asa (গুরুমুখ-পদ্মবাক্য চিত্তেতে করিয়া ঐক্য আর না করিহ মনে আশা)—make the teachings from Sri Guru's lotus mouth one with your heart, and do not desire anything else within your heart." You must follow what Gurudev tells 100% otherwise problems can come. It is necessary to following Gurudev's order, Gurudev's will 100%, we must do what he wants us to do. We must be open with everybody, it is not necessary to hide anything. This is the main thing. Question: We know from the texts like Gaura-ganodesha-dipika, that the associates and servants who accompany Lord Chaitanya are also present in His pastimes as Krishna. My question is whether these associate and servants recognised their own and each other's transcendental personality. Yes, all those who perform pastimes in Krishna-lila, come as associates of Sriman Mahaprabhu,
শ্রীকৃষ্ণচৈতন্য প্রভু জীবে দয়া করি' ।
sri-krsna-chaitanya prabhu jive daya kari' Being merciful to the souls, Sri Krishna Chaitanya Mahaprabhu descends with His associates and abode. Can they recognise themselves? Is that your question? Even if they do, they will not tell about it in front of everybody. The point is that we can recognise them. Srila Sanatan Goswami once said to Mahaprabhu, "There are some symptoms of the Lord described in Srimad Bhagavatam, and I see all those symptoms in front of me right now. I think that Kali-yuga's avatar has already come." Hearing this, Mahaprabhu said, "No, no, no! You are just very attached to the Lord, that is why you are saying this. I do not know anything about that."
