'I offer my obeisance unto he who perfectly fulfils his Gurudev's most cherished desires; who is fully adorned with the blessings of his Gurudev’s associates; who is expert in all aspects of Vedic knowledge, both conceivable and inconceivable; who is the pre-eminent follower of Srila Rupa Goswami Prabhu's line; who is known as 'Govinda'—Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj; whose beautiful, effulgent, exalted form is infused with pure devotion; who is the Guru of the entire universe; and who is the giver of the seed of divine love for the Supreme Lord.'

We are very fortunate today. With the help of you all, we are observing the holy appearance day of Sriman Nityananda Prabhu. This is a very happy day. Please say one time with me:

হরে কৃষ্ণ হরে কৃষ্ণ কৃষ্ণ কৃষ্ণ হরে হরে ।
হরে রাম হরে রাম রাম রাম হরে হরে ॥

hare krsna hare krsna krsna krsna hare hare
hare rama hare rama rama rama hare hare

Sriman Nityananda Prabhu, whose appearance day is today, is non-different from Sri Gurupadpadma (guru-tattva). We are praying today at His holy lotus feet. First, I am offering prayers at the holy feet of my gurudev, at the holy lotus feet of Sriman Nityananda Prabhu and all worshippable Vaishnavs. I am also offering innumerable obeisances at the holy feet of you all. I am praying to you all that you may hear something from this lowly soul. Actually, I have no quality or qualification to say anything – I am not capable of speaking about the divine glories of Sriman Nityananda Prabhu...

[Too much clamour] Please do not speak. This is not a place for speaking. This is bhakti-siddhanta sravan-sadan (ভক্তি সিদ্ধান্ত শ্রবণ সদন): a place where we are to hear about devotional teachings. Do not speak here about anything else. Do not speak about anything except Nitai. Only listen to what is being said now.

We have all gathered here today on the occasion of Sriman Nityananda Prabhu's holy appearance day. There are many sannyasis who have come from various countries (Venezuela, Malaysia, London and other countries); there are many devotees also coming from all over the world, from South Africa, Russia and other places; and many devotees have also come from Bihar (Jharkhand) to help out with various services. If any of you are too tired to sit here and listen, you can go to the outbuilding kitchen and help them cut the vegetables. If a few of you can come and help there, they will finish faster also. Do not worry that you will cut too many vegetables – people will be coming till the evening; so, cut as much as you can. Those of you who have come for this festival before know how many thousands and thousands of people come here for this festival... Everybody comes here to hear about Nityananda Prabhu's glories, to chant His glories. Do not come only to see this festival – come to serve this festival. Only a fortunate soul can actually do service here. Somebody can sweep, somebody can wash the Deities' dishes, somebody can cut vegetables. All of you can help in some way or another. But not everybody is so fortunate as to serve Nityananda Prabhu – not everybody is ready to serve, not everybody is ready to engage themselves in service. Somebody uses Nityananda Prabhu, and somebody serves Nityananda Prabhu. Hari-bhoga (enjoying the Lord, using the Lord) is not Hari-seva (serving the Lord).

I keep asking you not to speak. Why are you talking so much? What is there to talk so much about? Are you at a fish market or at a vegetable market? Why are you talking so much? Please keep quiet. How can you offer your obeisances to the Deities whle talking so loudly? There are places where people chant lila-kirtans and pala-kirtans, and there you can hear all kinds of material talks, nonsense talks and gossips. This is not a place like that. Please keep quiet. If you are sitting upstairs and talking, then please leave – you do not need to be staying here then. And if you cannot keep quiet, then come here and take the microphone – you can speak and I will listen. If you know something good, then come and tell us about it. I agree to sit and listen to you. Come and tell us about Nityananda Prabhu's glories; come and tell us what you know.

You must all pray at the holy feet of Sriman Nityananda Prabhu today – cry to Him, pray to Him. We have been going here and there for a very long time, we have been wasting a lot of time, but we must always listen to the glorification of Sriman Nityananda Prabhu...

Managing or Damaging?
'We have all come here because we want be a servitor—we do not want to become a manager. I came here as a sweeper, and I want to die as a sweeper.'

If you feel even some little material desire is coming to you, you must remove it immediately, otherwise it will increase day by day and demolish, spoil your spiritual life.
