(1) Nityananda Consciousness His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
Jay Om Vishnupad Jagad-Guru Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami
Maharaj ki jay. Devotee: Jay Om Vishnupad Paramahamsa Jagad Guru Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj ki jay. Harinam sankirtan ki jay. Gaura premanande Hari bol [His Divine Grace's voice is hoarse] Looks like Nityananda Prabhu has taken my voice. I can hardly speak. When I went back to my room after the noon programme, my voice suddenly disappeared. The festival went very well today. We will be still here tomorrow also. The Lord arranges everything – by Nityananda Prabhu's mercy, everything can be possible. Such is Sri Gurupadpadma's mercy, Sriman Nityananda Prabhu's mercy. Everybody has taken prasad today, tolerating quite a lot of austerity. Nothing is possible without Sriman Nityananda Prabhu's mercy. His glories are now spread all over the world, and everybody has got a place at His holy lotus feet. This is something we must all pray for. 'O Nityananda Prabhu, I commit so many offences at Your holy feet and at the holy feet of Your devotees – please forgive my offences. You have rescued such great sinners as Jagai and Madhai, but I am an even worse sinner than them (I have committed even more offence than they), so unless You bestow Your mercy, where else am I to go? Please give me a place at Your holy feet.' So many souls have got a place at His holy feet – so many souls have been rescued and have gone away. If we all pray to Sriman Nityananda Prabhu, it is good for all of us. We must pray at the holy lotus feet of Sriman Nityananda Prabhu. Without His lotus feet, we have no other way, no other shelter. Without His mercy, we cannot have any devotion – everything will ruined. Therefore, we must always appeal, pray and cry out to His holy lotus feet. We must always hanker for His mercy. This mood, this hankering must always be there. Always chant kirtan in this mood. Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur composed a very beautiful kirtan:
কবে হবে বল, সে দিন আমার ।
kabe habe bala, se dina amara Tell me, when will that day be mine? When, by mercy, will my offences go away? When will I get taste for the pure Holy Name?
তৃণাধিক হীন, কবে নিজে মানি,
trnadhika hina, kabe nije mani, When will I feel lower than a blade of grass, when will I bring the quality of tolerance to my heart, become eager to honour everyone without any desire for honour from anyone and relish the essence of the Name's nectar?
ধন জন আর, কবিতা সুন্দরী,
dhana jana ara, kavita sundari, When will I say that I do not want any wealth, friends, family, poetic gift or any other sources of bodily happiness? O Gaura-hari! Please let me have unconditional devotion to Your holy feet birth after birth!
(কবে) করিতে শ্রীকৃষ্ণ-নাম উচ্চারণ,
(kabe) karite sri-krsna- nama uchcharana, When will my hair stand on end, my voice falter, my complexion turn pale, my body tremble, and tears pour incessantly from my eyes as I loudly chant the Holy Name of Lord Sri Krsna?
কবে নবদ্বীপে, সুরধুনী-তটে,
kabe navadvipe, suradhuni-tate, When will I wander along the banks of the Ganges in Nabadwip, calling out with all sincerity, ‘Gaura-Nityananda!', dancing, singing and running about without any thinking, as though mad?
কবে নিত্যানন্দ, মোরে করি' দয়া,
kabe nityananda, more kari' daya, When will Nityananda be merciful to me and make me leave all material attachment? When will He place me in the shade of His lotus feet and grant me a place at the marketplace of the Name?
কিনিব লুটিব, হরি-নাম-রস,
kiniba lutiba, hari-nama-rasa, When will I buy and jubilantly scatter around the nectar of the Lord's Name? When will I become intoxicated and swoon with that nectar? When will I, coming in touch with the lotus feet of those who relish it, dive into that nectar again and again?
কবে জীবে দয়া, হইবে উদয়,
kabe jive daya, haibe udaya, When will compassion for all souls arise in Bhaktivinod? When will he forget his own happiness and wander house to house preaching the divine order with a meek and humble heart? Like Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur did, we must cry in this way... He says, 'Kiniba lutiba, hari-nama-rasa.' Do you understand the meaning of this kirtan a little? You have been listening about the Lord, about Sriman Nityananda Prabhu, about the glorification of Sri Guru, about the glorification of Gaura and Nityananda past few days; you have been chanting the Holy Name and kirtan – but it is not enough to only do it yourself. It is necessary to also extend it to others – it is necessary to tell others about all this. I have got something from my gurudev, and I am telling you as well – chant the Holy Name of the Lord. So many devotees come here, and if each of you tells one more person about it, then next year we will have two times more devotees here. It will be a very happy thing. Therefore, you must promise that next year you will tell one more person about Nityananda Prabhu and bring them with you to the holy abode of Nityananda Prabhu and to the holy feet of your gurudev. This is the meaning of 'Kiniba lutiba, hari-nama-rasa. I will buy and jubilantly scatter around the nectar of the Lord's Name. Nama-rase mati' haiba vivasa. I become intoxicated and swoon with that nectar.'
