(6/9) Vishnu, Krishna and Nitai His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad
We have spoken about Varahadev just now, and you have also heard about the Lord's incarnation as Vamanadev and how He rescued Bali Maharaj. I have told you about this pastime many times. In this way, the Lord again and again appears in this world to rescue such fallen and lowly souls as ourselves and to perform various pastimes. But the Lord does not always come Himself. You have read in Srimad Bhagavad-gita, and I have also told you about it many times:
যদা যদা হি ধর্ম্মস্য গ্লানির্ভবতি ভারত ।
yada yada hi dharmasya, glanir bhavati bharata 'O Bharata, whenever there is a decline of religion and an uprising of irreligion, I personally make My advent.' (Srimad Bhagavad-gita, 4.7) There are two kinds of Svayambhu Bhagavan (the Supreme Personality of Godhead), Svayambhu Krishna and Svayambhu Gauranga. Everybody else are His parts and particles. Brahma, Vishnu, Siva are all particles of particles of the original Supreme Lord. For example, Narayan is Bhagavan, the Lord, but the Supreme Lord of this Lord, the Supreme Lord of everyone and everything is Lord Sri Krishna and Lord Sri Gauranga Mahaprabhu. You must understand this, and if somebody asks you something or says, 'Oh, Vishnu and Krishna are the same!', 'We worship Narayan! Who is your Krishna?' you must say, 'No! This is wrong!' and be able to explain it. I have just told you that there are many kinds of Vishnu (Garbhodakasayi Vishnu, Ksirodakasayi Vishnu, and Karanodakasayi Vishnu), and apart from that, there are also ten incarnations of the Lord – They are all Vishnu. If you understand this, nobody will be able to defeat you. Otherwise, people will say, 'Oh, Vishnu and Krishna are the same', or, if you go even lower, people say, 'Oh, Kali and Krishna are the same!' What kinds of things people say!
একলা ঈশ্বর কৃষ্ণ, আর সব ভৃত্য ।
ekala isvara krsna, ara saba bhrtya 'Lord Krishna is the only supreme controller, and all others are His servants. They dance as He makes them do so.' (Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita, 1.5.142) The Supreme Lord, Controller, or Master, is one, and He is Krishna, and everyone else is His servants. There are 330,000,000 gods, and they are all Krishna's servants. They do not actually want to be gods – they want to return to this human birth again because having taking birth as humans, they want to able to worship Nityananda and return to Goloka Vrindavan. Even gods do not want to stay in heaven. Even they pray, 'Our life time is one kalpa [a day of Lord Brahma, or 4.32 billion years]! When will it be over? When will we at last get a human birth and worship Nitai-Gaura?!' All gods and goddesses worship the Lord to get this human birth again. Therefore, when you have got this human birth now, do not waste it. There is no time left! You think, 'I will practise spiritual life when I get old, but now it is time to enjoy life.' The only enjoyer of life is Krishna! You can say that you want to enjoy life as much as you want, but your enjoyment can be taken away within one moment. The Lord possess such power. So, think about the Lord. I have told you about Srila Krishna Das Kaviraj Goswami, and I started telling you about Srila Raghunath Das Goswami. Srila Raghunath Das Goswami had tried to come directly to Mahaprabhu so many times, but it is not possible to come directly to Mahaprabhu. Do not go to Krishna or Gauranga Mahaprabhu bypassing or avoiding Nityananda Prabhu. 'Nitaiyer karuna habe Vraje Radha Krsna pabe (নিতাইয়ের করুণা হবে ব্রজে রাধাকৃষ্ণ পাবে): you can come to Radha-Krishna in Vraja if you get Nityananda Prabhu's mercy.' If you worship Gauranga bypassing Nityananda, if you worship Gauranga bypassing the guru, you will be a sinner and end up in darkest hell. What did Ramdas Minaketan say? 'If you respect One but not the Other, this is a half-hen logic (ardha-kukkuti-nyaya, অর্ধকুক্কুটী-ন্যায়).' What does 'half-hen logic' mean? When I heard about it, I could not understand it, so I ask Gurudev about it, 'Gurudev, what does this ardha-kukkuti mean? Half what?' Gurudev said, 'You come from the environment where everyone eats chicken, and you do not know what kukkuti is? It is a hen!' Suppose you have a hen: eggs fall from its backside, and it eats with its mouth. You think, 'Let me keep the backside as eggs fall from there, but the other half is not necessary, so let me throw it away!' If you do this, will the hen stay alive? It will not. In the same way, you cannot worship Gauranga bypassing Nityananda – you cannot worship only one half. There is no Gauranga without Nitai, and there is no Nitai without Gauranga. Remember this! We must worship Gauranga and Nitai together. There is no Nitai without Gauranga, and there is no Gauranga without Nitai. If you worship Nityananda, you can come to Gauranga – if you worship Nitai, Gauranga Mahaprabhu will be pleased with you most of all, and if you worship Gauranga, then Nitai will also be please with you. Therefore, we must worship both.
