SRI GAUDIYA GITANJALI : SRI SRI RADHA-KRISHNA VANDANA
virajara pare suddha paravyoma-dhama
tad-upari sri-gokula vrndaranya nama [1]
Crossing Viraja, there is pure Paravyoma Dham, and above it there is Sri
Gokula and a place called Vrindavan.
vrndavana chintamani, chidananda-ratna-khani,
chinmaya apurva-darasana
tahi majhe chamatkara, krsna vana-spati-sara,
nilamani tamala yemana [2]
Vrindavan is a wish-fulfilling jewel, a transcendental ecstatic gem. If you
behold this inconceivable transcendental abode, you will see there an
astonishing large black tree resembling a tamal tree.
tahe eka svarna-mayi, lata sarva-dhama-jayi,
uthiyachhe parama-pavani
hladini-saktira sara, ‘maha-bhava’ nama yara,
tribhuvana-mohana-mohini [3]
A golden creeper, defeating the beauty of the whole abode and supremely
purifying, has grown on it. She is the essence of hladini (the Lord’s
internal potency) – Her name is maha-bhava (deepest love). She
captivates the Enchanter of the whole three words.
radha-name parichita, tusiya govinda-chitta,
virajaye parama anande
sei lata-patra-phula, lalitadi sakhi-kula,
sabe mili’ vrkse drdha bandhe [4]
Known as Radha, She exists to satisfy Govinda’s heart, and She is very happy
in Her life. The leaves and flowers of this creeper are Her friends (Lalita
and others). All together, they firmly bind the tree.
latara parase praphulla tamala
lata chhadi’ nahi rahe kona kala [5]
Feeling the touch of this creeper, the tamal tree begins to blossom –
it cannot exist without this creeper even a moment.
tamala chhadiya lata nahi vanche
se lata-milana sada-kala yache [6]
The creeper, too, cannot live without the tamal tree. The tree always
prays for the union with the creeper.
bhakativinoda milana dohara
na chahe kakhana bina kichhu ara [7]
Bhaktivinod does not ever want anything else except for the union of these
Two.
