internal pain of separation from Himself (Krishna). Gadadhar Pandit supplied
the wine of Krishna-lila to intoxicate his afflicted friend and give Him
relief. As he read, tears would fall from his eyes like flower offerings onto
the pages of Srimad Bhagavatam. May the pleasure of that brilliant

In honour of Sri Sankar Acharya's appearance:

"From here, see how far Sri Sankarpur shines along the bank of the
Ganga. When Sankar Acharya was conquering all directions, he came there to
conquer Nabadwip. At heart, Sankar Acharya was a great Vaisnava; only
externally was he acting as a nondualist and servant of Maya. He was a highly
empowered manifestation of Siva who was expert at preaching a conception of
veiled Buddhism. According to the order of the Lord, Siva performs this duty.
When Sankar Acharya came to Nadia, Gaurachandra revealed Himself to Sankar
Acharya in a dream and mercifully spoke sweet words to him. 'You are My
servant, and following My order, you are very cleverly preaching illusionism.
Nabadwip Dham is very dear to Me, and illusionism will never have a place
here. Here, Vrddha Siva and Praudha Maya propagate imaginary interpretations
of the scriptures. They deceive, however, only those who oppose My devotees.
In general, My devotees reside here. This place is not for preaching
misconception. Therefore, you should go elsewhere. Do not trouble the
residents of Nabadwip.' Understanding the position of Nabadwip through this
dream, Sankar Acharya went elsewhere, inspired with devotion."

Utility of Life
"You are born in India, but you do not understand the proper practice. Look
at them—they come from abroad, but they chant kirtans, listen to
Hari-katha. What will become of you? Next life, you will have to take birth
in the land of mlechhas, and they will get the Lord."

"...While speaking, they went to Jan Nagar and saw the beauty of the
hermitage of Jahnu Muni. Nityananda Prabhu said, 'This charming abode is
known as Jahnudwip and Bhadravan. Jahnu Muni performed austerities here and
saw the golden form of Gaura. Once, when Jahnu Muni sat here to perform his
evening meditation, His copper vessel fell into the swiftly flowing River
Ganga. The copper vessel fell into the river and floated away. Jahnu Muni
then drank all the water of the Ganga with his palm. Maharaj Bhagirath
thought, "Where did the Ganga go?" Bewildered, he began to think over the
situation. Understanding that Jahnu Muni had drunk all the water of the
Ganga, Maharaj Bhagirath became concerned. Sober Maharaj Bhagirath worshipped
the sage for some time, and eventually the Ganga broke out of the sage's
body. Thereafter, she became known as Jahnavi. The whole world now calls her
'Jahnavi'.'"

"There is no prohibition to live a family life, neither is there a prohibition to raise children, but you must make your family Krishna's Family and you must give up bad habits. It is not like if you offer everything to Govinda, you will have nothing to eat. This is not true."

Guidelines on how to observe and honour this holy day: Ekadasi takes an
indispensible part in the life of a sincere practitioner. At Sri Chaitanya
Saraswat Math, Ekadasi and paran are observed with affection and without
fail according to the dates given in the Calendar.

In Praise of Srila Narottam Das Thakur

Narottam Thakur's close associates and peers were Syamananda and Srinivas.
These three great devotees were sent back to Bengal to continue the preaching
of Mahaprabhu. The Bengali Vaisnavas were very eager to read the writings of
Sri Rupa, Sanatan, Raghunath, Krishna Das Kaviraj, Lokanath Goswami, Gopal
Bhatta Goswami, Prabhodananda Saraswati and the other Goswamis; so Narottam,
Syamananda and Srinivas travelled from Vrindavan towards Bengal with many
copies of those great books...
