SRI GAUDIYA GITANJALI : SPECIAL POETRY
radhika charana padma, sakala sreyera sadma,
yatane ye nahi aradhila
radha-padankita dhama, vrndavana yara nama,
taha ye na asraya karila [1]
radhika bhava gambhira, chinte ye va mahadhira,
gana-sanga na kaila jivane
kemane se syamananda, rasa-sindhu snanananda,
labhibe bujhaha eka-mane [2]
If somebody did not strive to worship Radhika’s lotus feet, which are an
abode of all auspiciousness; if they did not take shelter in the holy abode
of Vrindavan, which is decorated with Radha’s holy footprints; if they did
not have in their life the association of the great self-controlled souls who
always meditate upon Radhika’s profound transcendental mood – how can such a
person hope to attain Shyamananda Krishna or bath in the blissful ocean of
divine ecstasy? Pay close attention and try to understand this.
radhika ujjvala rasera acharya
radha-madhava suddha prema vicharya [3]
Radhika is the acharya in the amorous pastimes, and any dealings of
Sri Radha-Madhav are to be considered from the standpoint of pure devotional
love.
ye dharila radha-pada parama yatane
se paila krsna-pada amulya ratane [4]
Those who tried their best to clasp Radha’s holy feet attained the priceless
jewel of Lord Krishna’s holy feet.
radha-pada bina kabhu krsna nahi mile
radhara dasira krsna sarva vede bale [5]
Without Radha’s holy feet, you can never come to Krishna. All Vedas say that
Krishna is the property of Radha’s maidservants.
chhodata dhana jana, kalatra suta-mita,
chhodata karama geyana
radha-pada pankaja, madhurata sevana,
bhakativinoda paramana [6]
Give up all your wealth, people, wife, children and friends; give up all
material activities and knowledge – service to Radha’s lotus feet is full of
sweetness. Bhaktivinod bears witness to that.
