SRI GAUDIYA GITANJALI : SRI ARATI GITI
sachira angane kabhu, madhavendra-puri prabhu,
prasadanna karena bhojana
khaite khaite tanra, aila prema su-durbara,
bale—’suna sannyasira gana [1]
One day, Madhavendra Puri came to Sachi’s house and took prasad. When
he ate, suddenly irresistible divine love came over him, and he said, ‘Dear
sannyasis, please listen!
mocha-ghanta phulabadi, dali dalna chachchadi,
sachi-mata karila randhana
tanra suddha-bhakti heri, bhojana karila hari,
sudha sama e anna-byanjana [2]
‘Mother Sachi has cooked this banana-flower curry, dal dumplings,
dal, vegetables with gravies and without. Seeing her pure devotion,
the Lord has eaten her preparations. Her cooking tastes like nectar!
yoge yogi paya yaha, bhoge aja habe taha,
hari bali khao sabe bhai
krsnera prasada-anna, tri-jagat kare dhanya,
tripurari nache yaha pai’ [3]
‘You can have whatever yogis achieve by practising yoga just by
eating this today. Brothers, eat and chant the Lord’s Names! Krishna’s food
remnants bless the entire three worlds. Even Lord Siva, the killer of the
Tripura demon, dances when he takes it!’
