SRI GAUDIYA GITANJALI : SPECIAL POETRY
Gist of Sri Gayatri
(By Srila Bhakti Raksak Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj)
bhvades tat savitur varenya vihitam ksetra-jna-sevyarthakam
(bhuradeh savitur varenya-vihitam ksetra-jna-sevyarthakam)
Although the light of the soul illuminates all layers of existence (physical,
mental and intellectual), there is a worshippable area beyond it, where the
soul’s object of knowledge and service exists.
bhargo vai vrsabhanujatma-vibhavaikaradhana-sri-puram
(bhargo jyotir achintya-lilana-sudhaikaradhana-sri-puram)
(bhargo dhama-taranga-khelana-sudhaikaradhana-sri-puram)
(bhargo dhama sada nirasta-kuhakam prajnana-lila-puram)
This effulgent supersubjective area is a worshippable abode that represents
an extension of Srimati Radharani’s service potency; it is replete with the
nectar of inconceivable pastimes; it is an abode that swells with the waves
of peculiar nectarean pastimes that are free from any deception.
(devasyamrta-rupa-lila-rasadheraradha-dhih prerinah)
(devasyamrta-rupa-lila-purusasyaradha-dhi presinah)
devasya dyuti-sundaraika-purusasyaradhya-dhi-presinah
May I be drawn to the Supreme Lord (Krishna) who performs there His playful
pastimes, assuming an extremely sweet form, who is worshipped by all living
entities and possesses effulgent beauty.
gayatri-muralista-kirtana-dhanam radha-padam dhimahi
(gayatri-gaditam mahaprabhu-matam radha-padam dhimahi)
(dhir aradhanam eva nanyad iti tad radha-padam dhimahi)
Krishna’s flute does not produce any other sound except for glorification of
Srimati Radharani, in whom all services have their complete representation.
That is the real meaning and gist of the gayatri mantra according to
the precepts of Sriman Mahaprabhu.
