Resist Defective Lifestyle
'"O Vaishnav Thakur, please rectify me! Please make me good. I am clasping your feet." This is not about coming up and touching somebody's feet. No. Bhakti Devi is not like that. You must mentally grasp Vaishnavs' feet and feel sincerely, "I will not go anywhere from here. I will do whatever you say."'

Pure Devotional Life (1)
"You must pray to gurudev, you must check the calendar every day. Wake up in the morning and give jay to gurudev, take gurudev’s name. Give jay to Vaishnavs, to our guru-varga. The more you talk about them, the more you will remember them…"

SWEET SUCCESS ASSURED
'Sometimes we achieve what we want and sometimes we do not. But service life is not like that. We must not involve ourselves with any mundane matter. We must involve ourselves with service and we must try to fulfil our service, but the result is in the hand of Krishna. Whatever comes may be good or may be bad but as much as possible I must always try to be successful. This is our life, and joyfulness and success must finally come to us.'

SRIMAN MAHAPRABHU VANDANA: Nagara bhramana kare
‘Wandering throughout the town, Gaura has now come home. Gaura has come home, and my Nitai has also come home. Brushing the dust off Him, Sachi Mata takes Gaura on her lap, and devotees start chanting, "Hari! Hari!" out of joy.’

Sri Sri Prema-Dhama Deva Stotram (Part Five, chanted on Wednesdays)
'He reveals (first, to Sri Sanatan and then to Prakasananda) sixty-two interpretations of the famous verse ‘Atmaramas cha… ittham-bhuta-guno harih’ (‘Even self-realised, self-satisfied souls are moved to worship the Lord’) from Srimad Bhagavatam; interpreting the various lexical meanings of the eleven words of this verse, juxtaposed in different ways, He reveals a treasure-mine of multitudinous meanings of this verse in consonance with the precepts of pure devotional conclusions – I am singing in praise of this beautiful Lord Sri Gauranga-sundar, a worshippable Deity of divine love.'

Today in the calendar: Purnima. Vasanta Rasa of Sri Krishna. Rasa Yatra of Sri Sri Balaram. Appearance of Srila Vamsi-vadananda Thakur and Srila Syamananda Prabhu.

His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad Srila B.N. Acharya Maharaj: "Even if you do not know anything about the Vaishnav mentioned in the calendar, you must still give them 'jay' on this day."

In honour of Sri Syamananda Prabhu:

"Srinivas Acharya, Narottam Das Thakur, and Shyamananda Prabhu started for Vrindavan to have the darshan of Srila Rupa Goswami, Srila Sanatan Goswami, Srila Gopala Bhatta Goswami, Srila Raghunatha Bhatta Goswami and others who were there.

"When they were only a few miles away from Mathura, they heard that Sanatan Goswami had passed away. People were saying that that great Sanatan Goswami who was the prime minister and who had captured all people in the whole of Vrindavan within his heart—that Sanatan had passed away, a great disaster for the country. What to do then? Rupa, Raghunath, Jiva and Gopala Bhatta were still living, so Srinivas, Narottam, and Shyamananda dragged somehow on.

When they reached Mathura, they heard that Srila Rupa Goswami had left the night before that. Sanatana left on an ashari purnima, and Srila Rupa Goswami left after that on next dvadasi. They thought, "What hopeless and cursed souls we are! We have come so near, yet we could not see those two generals of Mahaprabhu!" Mahaprabhu sent two of his generals to Vrindavan to carry out His orders and establish the kingdom of the Gaudiya Vaishnavs there... So, they dragged their bodies to Vrindavan and came to Govinda Mandir. When they reached it, they found that an evening aroti was going on there in a very great splendour. There was a great crowd there—Srila Rupa Goswami had just passed away, so with that feeling of high bereavement, everybody was chanting his name madly. Srinivas, Narottam, and Shyamananda Prabhu were there, but Srinivas Acharya could not stand that sort of sentimental wave—he was standing aside and he fainted. When he regained his consciousness, he saw Srila Jiva Goswami with some of his followers...

In this way, Srinivas Acharya, Narottam Das Thakur, and Shyamananda Prabhu stayed in Vrindavan for one year—Srinivas Acharya took initiation from Gopala Bhatta, Narottam Thakur from Lokanath Goswami, and Shyamananda Prabhu from Srila Jiva Goswami Prabhu..."

(Srila B.R. Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj)

"Sri Gauri Das Pandit is one of the twelve cowherd friends of Krishna in Vrindavan. Shyamananda Prabhu was his disciple and followed him in the sakhya-bhav (transcendental mood of friendship with the Lord), however when he later entered the association of Srila Jiva Goswami Prabhu, who was a follower of Sri Rupa Goswami, he exhibited madhura-bhav (transcendental mood of paramour relationship with the Lord). Shyamananda Prabhu was promoted to the manjari group by the mercy of Lalita Devi. Later, Shyamananda Prabhu went to preach with Srila Narottam Das Thakur and Srila Srinivas Acharya. Srila Narottam Das Thakur preached in Bangladesh, Srila Srinivas Acharya Prabhu preached in the north, and Srila Shyamananda Prabhu preached in Midnapore. They preached and protected our line, Rupa Goswami's line, the main conception."

ANSWERS THROUGH LETTERS
'After the disappearance of Srila Guru Maharaj, in his separation so many inauspicious things have happened, and due to that I am really too much shocked both mentally and bodily, but by the will of Krishna, there is no other way to spend a single moment without His seva programme. Nirjan-bhajan may be possible singlely but sankirtan is not possible without Vaishnava association; in that way we are in the proper line of our Srila Guru Maharaj. Until death we must try to maintain our joyful sankirtan life.'

SARANAGATI GITI: Amara jivana sada pape rata
‘My life is always engrossed in sin. There is not a trace of piety in it. And I have been giving others so much anxiety and pain. I am not afraid to commit sins for my own happiness. I am merciless and selfish. I always lie. I feel unhappy to see others happy, and I feel happy to see others sad.’

Sri Sri Prema-Dhama Deva Stotram (Part Six, chanted on Thursdays)
'Captivated by and afflicted with an intense feeling of separation, He runs swiftly to the simha-dvara gate of Lord Jagannathdev’s holy temple; the next moment He falls down on the spot, His holy figure transformed into that of a tortoise by the influence of deep separation; attracted by the uncommon divine fragrance emanating from His holy figure, the Telangi cows residing at the temple draw near, surrounding Him – I am singing in praise of this beautiful Lord Sri Gauranga-sundar, a worshippable Deity of divine love.'

SARANAGATI GITI: Ki jani ki bale
‘Everything belongs to You, and I am only a servant. Please rescue me! I have embraced Your holy feet, so I no longer belong to myself. Crying, Bhaktivinod has surrendered at Your feet. Please take charge of him – forgive his offences and let him have taste for the Holy Name.’

Sri Sri Prema-Dhama Deva Stotram (Part Seven, chanted on Fridays)
'He is a holy embodiment of the beautiful reality which is beyond the reach of one’s eyes and ears, which paralyses the very necessity of intelligence and which leaves even firmly fixed consciousness dumbstruck when divine love surges up – even Brahma, Sambhu (Siva), as well as their revealed scriptures, Vedas and tantras cannot conceive of such reality, so they merely keep searching after Him – I am singing in praise of this beautiful Lord Sri Gauranga-sundar, a worshippable Deity of divine love.'

(1.1) VAISHNAVA THAKUR
'I don’t know to what extent the disciples of Srila Guru Maharaj and other devotees all over the world are aware of just how much they are also indebted to Sripad Bhakti Sundar Govinda Maharaj. So this is a wonderful opportunity that we could all come together and show some appreciation on this day.'

(1.2) THE ORIGINAL CURRENT
'From the very beginning of our coming to Srila Guru Maharaj he taught us the glories of Srila Govinda Maharaj. On his own Vyasa-puja day, the day after the sannyasa of Srila Govinda Maharaj, Srila Guru Maharaj said, “Furthermore I want to say one thing, tadiyanam samarchanam, if you serve who is beloved of me, that is more than service to me.”'

(1.3) SRILA GURU MAHARAJ'S DIVINE DESIRE AND DIRECTIVES
'Hereby, I do reveal my final desire and directives unto all my Eastern and Western lady and gentlemen disciples, as well as to the faithful souls devoted to the Divinity, that: they must respect him as the exclusive Acharya and President, and remain faithful to him and cooperate with him in the service duties of the Math. If anyone cannot honour these directives and this final desire of mine, then they shall be bound to disassociate themselves from my established Maths.'

(2.1) DESCENT OF KNOWLEDGE
'Everywhere in Srila Guru Maharaj’s books and Srila Swami Maharaj’s books there is advice and descriptions for our benefit, and if you can capture the essence and understand that properly, you will receive everything. The only cause of not capturing that essence is a deficiency of transcendental knowledge. Our deficiency lies there, and our necessity is to take the help of an expert.'

SARANAGATI GITI: Emana durmati samsara-bhitare
‘(O Lord!) I have fallen into this vile material world, but You have sent a great soul, Your associate, to me. Seeing me so fallen, he took pity on me and came to me, saying: "Poor soul, listen to this good news, it will make your heart rejoice."’

Sri Sri Prema-Dhama Deva Stotram (Part One, chanted on Saturdays)
'Demigods, perfected souls, liberated souls, yogis and Lord’s devotees always sing His praise; He relieves the world from the blazing forest fire of three-fold miseries (caused by the desire for enjoyment, liberation and perfections) brought about by inauspicious actions (performed in aversion to the Supreme Lord); an ocean of generosity, He bestows His own Name from the nectarean storehouse of Lord Sri Krishna’s Names – I am singing in praise of this beautiful Lord Sri Gauranga-sundar, a worshippable Deity of divine love.'

Sri Sri Prema-Dhama Deva Stotram (Part Two, chanted on Sundays)
'Very tall, beautiful and infused with divine love, His holy form increases gods’ joy; the lustre of His body, which puts millions of golden lotuses to shame, is worshipped by the Moon; and His intrinsic form is a holy abode of divine pastimes manifest as eternal ever-increasing transcendental ecstatic transformations that spring up as He revels dancing in Sri Krishna-sankirtan – I am singing in praise of this beautiful Lord Sri Gauranga-sundar, a worshippable Deity of divine love.'

(2.4) ADJUSTING TO HIS ACCOUNT
'At the present time we cannot do pure service and we cannot chant Krishna’s Name properly. For example, we know from Guru, Vaishnav, and sastra that Krishna and Krishna-nama are the same; why then do we not receive the result of Krishna Himself appearing within our hearts when we chant Krishna-nama? We must consider this point. The result of chanting real Krishna-nama is that Krishna will appear in the heart, but Krishna is not appearing within our hearts, therefore we know we are not engaging in real Krishna-nama. Therefore, in our present position we are in the stage of practising, and this is also true for other forms of service. By practising here, the force of our habit will put us in good standing. If we practise chanting the Hare Krishna maha-mantra, then even while sleeping, that Hare Krishna mantra will appear within us. If we practise doing service, then also while sleeping we shall think of service.'

(2.5) PRESENT POSITION, BRIGHTEST PROSPECT
'When we walk along a path we may step on many blades of durvasa grass, but when that same kind of grass is offered to the Lord we take that upon our head. We cannot even think to crush it beneath our feet. Why? We cannot think such a thing because we know it has been offered to Krishna therefore it has assumed a transcendental position. So Krishna says, “If you can do everything for My satisfaction then you will have no debt, and furthermore you will be benefited even while in this mundane plane.” This is the main principle to be followed for our living in this world.'

Today in the calendar: Krishna Saptami. Disappearance of Srila Abhiram Thakur.

His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad Srila B.N. Acharya Maharaj: "We should always check the calendar, and when we see some dates mentioned there, even if we do not know anything about the Vaishnav or events mentioned there, we can at least give 'jay' to them—that also brings some good sukriti, some purification to us. Seeing the calendar and taking devotees' names early in the morning, from the beginning of the day, is very good for all devotees. We must always remember disappearance and appearance days of all Vaishnavs. If we can remember such personalities, such great souls, it will bring great benefit to our spiritual lives."

From a purport found in Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita:

"Sri Ramadas, later known as Abhiram Thakur, was one of the twelve gopals, or cowherd boyfriends, of Sri Nityananda Prabhu. The Gaura-ganoddesa-dipika (126) states that Sri Ramadasa was formerly Sridam. By the order of Sri Nityananda Prabhu, Abhiram Thakur became a great acharya and preacher of the Chaitanya cult of devotional service. He was a very influential personality, and nondevotees were very much afraid of him. Empowered by Sri Nityananda Prabhu, he was always in ecstasy and was extremely kind to all fallen souls. It is said that if he offered obeisances to any stone other than a salagrama-sila, it would immediately fracture. It is also said that Abhiram Thakur had a whip and that whoever he touched with it would immediately become an elevated devotee of Krishna. Among his many disciples, Sriman Srinivas Acharya was the most famous and the most dear, but it is doubtful that he was his initiated disciple."

Do Not Take This Life for Granted
'You all live in your material lives, in your family lives, so how can you practise Krishna consciousness? You are always busy with your material lives – you are always taking care of your children, husbands, wives, houses. We are born as humans, but we still live worrying about all this...'

Embracing Controlled Life
"When gurudev tells you to do some service or to go somewhere, you must do that. If you do not do it – if you keep saying that you have no time or make other excuses – then one day this opportunity will be gone. That is why I am telling you all: surrender everything to gurudev, and, whichever way gurudev will use it, it is his matter."

—{ Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math's Treasury }—

• DIGNITY OF THE DIVINE SERVITOR •

(3.2) JEWELS
'Sankirtan means that all together we are chanting the Holy Names and offering service whole-heartedly to our Divine Master and our Lord. Krishna only looks at this qualification and no other. Each one is like an auspicious stick of wood fully dedicating himself for the exaltation of Srila Guru Maharaj by entering into the sankirtan fire sacrifice. These sticks are burning happily because they do not receive pain, only purification. It is my only prayer to you all that you must look to this central Math where there is continuous service to the Deities and Srila Guru Maharaj as well as the living sankirtan fire sacrifice which is always continuing here.'

• SRI GAUDIYA GITANJALI •

SARANAGATI GITI: Sarvasva tomara charane sapiya
‘Forgetting You, I came to this material world and suffered all kinds of pain, but now I have come to Your holy feet. Let me tell You my sad story. When I was in my mother’s womb, I lived in terrible confinement. One time, dear Lord, You let me see You, and this poor servant realised how deprived he was.’

Prasad Consciousness
'We must always remember the Lord. You all know how we can do this and how we must live. We suffer from five material diseases, and it is said in the scriptures that if we honour prasad, then all material illusion will be removed. Prasad-seva: we must honour prasad. What does it mean?'

Science of Self-Effacement
(From the holy mouth of Srila B.R. Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj)
'Your progress will depend on the extent to which you are consciously doing your duty to satisfy your guru, Vaishnavs and Krishna. The degree and intensity of your earnestness, hankering and thirst to satisfy them will determine your progress and improvement. We shall always try to be faithful to the conception centred around the guru, Vaishnav, Krishna, Mahaprabhu, and so on. Our way is mainly self-effacement and self-surrender.'

Be Courageous
(From the holy mouth of Srila B.R. Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj)
"We must not be disappointed. We must have courage. We must face everything courageously and well-meaning in our thoughts, words, and deeds. Srimad Bhagavatam comes to teach us to face any danger, any adverse circumstance with this spirit. This should be our real spirit when facing trouble, then we will get relief very soon, we will not have to wait long."

Today in the calendar: Krishna Dasami. Disappearance of Srila Vrindavan Das Thakur.

In honour of Sri Chaitanya-Vyas Srila Vrindavan Das Thakur:

They were both adorned with the mercy-dust of the lotus feet of Nityananda. I offer my obeisances to these two inconceivable sages who assumed the form of Vyasadeva, one—explicitly (Vrindavan Das Thakur), another—hiddenly (Krishna Das Kaviraj Goswami). Sri Sri Guru Gauranga Gandharva Govinda and Their associates are ever victorious and we, the students, pray for Their mercy."

Under a Haritaki Tree
"Vrindavan Das Thakur's mother's name is Narayani, and she was a niece of Srivas Pandit. Mahaprabhu always held kirtans in the house of Srivas Pandit, and Narayani lived in that same house. When she was very little, she got Mahaprabhu's mercy..."

Composed by Srila Vrindavan Das Thakur:

Are bhai! nitai amara dayara avadhi
'Brother! My Nitai is the acme of mercy personified! Bestowing mercy on souls, He roams from place to place constantly begging everyone to accept divine love for the Lord.'

Bimala hema-jini
‘His figure defeats pure gold! Various flower garlands adorn Him, highlighting His beauty, and in His ecstatic thrill, the hairs on His body standing erect defeat the beautiful stamens of kadamba flowers! His body is covered with drops of perspiration.’

Start From Tongue
"People say, ‘Oh, I will die if I do not eat fish and meat.’ This is a very bad mentality. If your intelligence is bad, you cannot control your mind. If you cannot control your tongues, you will not be able to control anything."

—{ Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math's Treasury }—

• THE BENEDICTINE TREE OF DIVINE ASPIRATION •

DIVINE BENEVOLENCE ABROAD
'Srila Govinda Maharaj loves every one of us, and if the devotees can come together as a loving, serving family, then a beautiful thing will happen. Whenever strangers will see Srila Govinda Maharaj's disciples they will say, "They are so nice, and so loving to each other. Let's try to arrange something with them so that we can gain their association."'

UNIVERSAL GRACE
'There we find all happiness, all ecstasy, all beauty, charm, and Divine Love. Whatever we want in this mundane world within our conditioned position—beyond that, in the Transcendental World, that Divine Love is always waiting for us, waiting to embrace us. That is the actual position, and one who can understand this cannot live without giving that gift to others. That is Krishna consciousness. Once we wake up and get connected with that consciousness, we can never leave it.'

• SRI GAUDIYA GITANJALI •

SARANAGATI GITI: Manasa deha geha
‘I have offered my mind, body, home, whatever I have, at Your feet, Nanda Kishor. Whether I am living peacefully or in danger, whether I am alive or dead, all my responsibility is gone by embracing Your feet.’

Every Day Service Day
'You think that you can get a hired band to sing some kirtans at your home and this is what spiritual practice is, but what they chant is not the Holy Name! We do not practise like that. What do we do? You eat every day, you sleep every day, you take a shower every day – in the same way, you must serve the Lord every single day, too.'
Download / listen to the audio (17 Mb, 34 min | 1 March 2019)

Cow Consciousness
(From the holy mouth of Srila B.R. Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj)
'Many souls aspire to become a cow in Vrindavan. Cows are represented as the most innocent of all the animals and are considered to be of peaceful nature. We must learn and try to be sincere to our own selves. Purify your inner hearts; do not be eager to purify the outer aspect. The circumstances, the environment will help you to go up. Do not be eager to hold an upper position yourselves.'

I bow my head in eternal obeisance to my Gurudev, the best of acharyas, Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj. He is the ever vigilant, stalwart guardian of the current of pure devotion whose highest form flows from our most worshippable Sri Rupanuga Guru-varga in their exclusive dedication to Mahabhav, Srimati Radharani.

I offer my respectful obeisances to Swami Bhakti Nirmal Acharya, who is energetically inspiring all of Eastern and Western disciples on the path of pure devotion.

Dear Devotees, Vaishnavs and Well-Wishers,

Bowing down at your holy feet, we would like to extend to you a humble and earnest invitation to join the observance of the divine disappearance day of our beloved Sri Gurupadpadma Om Vishnupad Jagad-Guru Sri Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj, manifesting this year on 16 April 2026 (this Thursday).

On this worshippable day, fraught with sorrowful remembrance of His Divine Grace's withdrawal from this world that plunged us into abysmal, pathetic darkness yet pleased the hearts of Sri Sri Guru Gauranga Gandharva Govinda-sundar for They regained the company of Their beloved associate in Their eternal pastimes, we pray for forgiveness of our offences that prevent us from rejecting the illusory charms surrounding us and embracing His Divine Grace's instructions exclusively, as our all-in-all. May the merciful teachings of His Divine Grace reign forever victorious in our hearts. We hope all devotees find an opportunity to observe this holy day for the satisfaction of Sri Gurupadpadma, keeping his divine Guidance on their heads: 'Always sit amidst fire blazing on all four sides. This fire is Hari-katha, kirtan, service to the Lord, and service to the guru. You must progress in your practising life keeping the sacrificial fire of your service ablaze.'

Your aspiring servants,
On behalf of SCSMathInternational.com

Observing Festivals
His Divine Grace many times advised how to hold special programmes and taught it many times by his own example. In summary, such programmes usually consist of kirtan glorification, Hari-katha, arati, pushpanjali (offering of flowers to a photograph) and prasad-seva (cooking a special offering, offering it at the altar and lovingly distributing it to devotees).

Favourite Preparations
When asked, His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj replies, 'When devotees give me something with affection, I accept it.' Presented on this page, however, is a list of preparations favourite to His Divine Grace that was provided by the servitors of His Divine Grace.

Think About Lord
"The Lord says, ‘If you think about Me, I will think about you. But if you think about yourself, then why must I look after you?’ Do not think about yourselves – always think about the Lord. Our line of devotion is such that we always think about the Lord, ‘How can I make the Lord happy?’"

• THE BENEDICTINE TREE OF DIVINE ASPIRATION •

THE EYE-OPENER
'Material education such as we have in colleges and universities is, we are sorry to say, nothing more than progress in ignorance. We can have true knowledge only when we surrender to the lotus feet of a spiritual master. Real knowledge will make us understand our own self, and God. We will realise our happy position as a servitor, and we will serve accordingly.'

• SRI GAUDIYA GITANJALI •

SARANAGATI GITI: (Hari he!) prapanche padiya
‘O Lord! I have fallen into this material world, becoming helpless. I do not see the way out now. You are the shelter of the shelterless, so I surrender myself at Your holy feet. You are everything to me now.’

Sri Sri Prema-Dhama Deva Stotram (Part Three, chanted on Mondays)
'He ardently preached that service performed in various divine relationships (from dasya-, sakhya-, vatsalya- to madhura-rasa) and the (paramount) service beauty of Sri Radha’s servitors in the highest paramour madhura-rasa, as well as any transcendental hankering of the self-realised souls in Sri Vraja Dham, can indisputably be realised in Sri Vrajendra-nandan only – I am singing in praise of this beautiful Lord Sri Gauranga-sundar, a worshippable Deity of divine love.'

Wed, 15 April 2026 (Adhivas of Sri Gurupadpadma's holy disappearance day)

Universal Stumbling Block
'We are suffering because we forgot the Lord, and the only way to get relief from this suffering is to take shelter at the holy feet of a genuine guru. We do not realise that if we want to get something great, we must sacrifice small things. Our only difficulty is that we cannot do that.'

Stay Away from Nonsense
"Do not waste your time. Instead of reading newspapers and watching TV, series and news, chant the Holy Name. There is no use watching the news – it is all lies. Today he says that you are a thief, and tomorrow you are saying that he is a thief. Is that news? This is all lies."

LIFE'S DESTINATION
'A proper examination of the Vedic scriptures will leave us with no doubt that Krishna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Throughout the whole world people are chanting the Hare Krishna maha-mantra, and through that we can also have some understanding. In all the scriptures—the Vedanta, Upanisads, eighteen Puranas, etc.—everywhere we find chanted the glories of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krishna. Still the question arises, "What is Krishna consciousness, and why should we worship Krishna?"'

• SRI GAUDIYA GITANJALI •

SARANAGATI GITI: (Prabhu he!) suna mora duhkhera kahini
‘(O Lord!) Please hear my sad story. I have been drinking the poison of material life taking it for nectar. The sun is setting now (my life is coming to an end)…’

Sri Sri Prema-Dhama Deva Stotram (Part Four, chanted on Tuesdays)
'Overcome with strong bouts of divine love surging through Him and becoming unconscious of the world around Him, He dances madly and chants kirtan; the tears streaming incessantly from His eyes flood His body, the colour of molten gold and tall as the mount Sumeru, His clothes, the colour of the newly risen sun, and the earth in all fourteen directions around Him; He glows as He chants, ‘Krishna! Krishna!’, shouts jumbled up words and relishes various postures and behaviours (roaring with laughter, etc.) under the influence of divine love – I am singing in praise of this beautiful Lord Sri Gauranga-sundar, a worshippable Deity of divine love.'

"A disappearance day is also called viraha-tithi, a separation day. Viraha, separation, comes if there is relation—if you have some relation with the person, then separation comes. When and how does relation come? It comes through service. If you have no service, you have no relation; if you have service, then you have relation, and when there is relation, separation comes. No service—no relation. Remember this."

"You must always listen and speak about the Lord. Where will you find Gurudev? Gurudev has gone now. But you can get his association if you read his books. When I am not here, where will you get my association? I have books – if you read those books, you can get the darshan of your Gurudev and get his association every day. Guru is always with us; he always gives us instruction. If we remember his instructions, his words, if we read his books, we will always get his association through that."

~Srila B.N. Acharya Maharaj

"This day is very painful for me. In happy or unhappy times, he was always with me. I always received help and advice from him. I did not feel any fear towards him. Many devotees were afraid to go to Gurudev, but I have never felt any fear. I always went to him unobstructed, and I could tell him everything without any hesitation, and I always knew that I had somebody. But now I have lost this person... This day gives me very much pain. Those who do not have a relationship with their gurudev cannot understand this. They can never understand the pain of losing one's guru... Only those who have a relationship with gurudev can understand this pain of losing one's guru. We mostly forge only bodily relationships in this world, but when it comes to the relationship with your guru, this is something of the heart – that attraction, that pull comes from the heart (this is not some bodily attraction). The real attraction comes from the heart. Gurudev is my dearest person, my most worshippable person, my closest friend. This is whom I lost..."

~Srila B.N. Acharya Maharaj

Autobiography of Srila B.N. Acharya Maharaj
To try to describe unlimited glories of a Vaishnav is a very challenging task, and because the nature of Guru is beyond what we can grasp with our material intelligence and beyond what we can perceive with our material senses, it makes the task even harder. Presented here is an autobiographical discourse of His Divine Grace Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj, the current Acharya and Sevaite of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math.

PHOTO ALBUM
The photographs presented in this dedicated photo album are only a few glimpses into a particle of the service and contribution that His Divine Grace has made. May they however become a source of inspiration for the service and dedication to the lotus feet of Sri Gurudev that His Divine Grace embodies.

My Grief [22 March 2016 | Part 1]
"Today, by the mercy of Sri Gurupadpadma, by the mercy of Gaura Hari, you have successfully, beautifully and without any obtacles completed Sri Nabadwip Dham parikrama. It is a very happy, joyful day, but at the same time it is also a sorrowful day..."

Who Will Understand This? [22 March 2016 | Part 2]
"This relationship is not a two-day connection, this connection is not just to take initiation and go away, no. You must not only think like this, but you must understand it. What is the love of Guru? What do you receive from your Guru? You must always think about it."

'I Am at Your Service'
'I have seen how many times Gurudev went abroad to reach out to you all, to touch your heart and how much love and affection he gave to you all. Gurudev chose me as his perfect dog for his service, and I am always at your service: you can use me in any way, in any place.'

Cannot Have Foot in Both Camps
'Why will we leave Krishna consciousness? Why do we go to surrender to Maya? If we surrender to Gurudev, then Gurudev will engage us in the service of the Lord as surrendered devotees. But if we surrender to Maya, she will keep us as her prisoners.'

Do Not Compromise with Maya
"So many problems came in their time, and they did not back off—they spoke the truth; but we are ready to compromise our principles—we compromise what Mahaprabhu teaches us with other things. Srila Sridhar Maharaj saw a big dream that Mahaprabhu's proper conception would be preached all over the world by Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math, and that is happening now. We must not surrender to maya."

The last recorded Hari-katha and Guidance of Sri Gurupadpadma:

Take Care of Yourself [2 May 2021 | Part 1]
"...This is the situation now—we must all be careful. We must chant more and more, we must preach more and more, and we must practise more and more. Always continue following all the rules and regulations—we must distribute the teachings that we have got from our Gurudev to others."

Sadhus' Fight [2 May 2021 | Part 2]
"This is a battlefield. We will not run away from the battlefield—we will always stand and fight against Maya. You can see everywhere that finally demons are always defeated by the sadhu. Om is always at the side of a sadhu. Please you all take care yourself. In this situation, everybody should practise on their own, do not be disheartened."

Be Exclusive, One-Pointed [2 May 2021 | Part 3]
"If you think about good things, then all bad things will automatically be removed from you. Do not worry so much about this. When you think some anartha is coming, you must give more and more attention to practising—concentrate your mind on practising."

KIRTANS:
Gurudev! krpa-bindu diya | গুরুদেব! কৃপাবিন্দু দিয়া
"When I examine myself for qualifications, I find none. Your mercy is everything. If you are not merciful to me, then, crying, I will no longer maintain my life."

Krsna haite chatur-mukha | কৃষ্ণ হৈতে চতুর্ম্মুখ
"Srila Govinda Maharaj's dear successor, who is devoted to practising and preaching his teachings, is Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj. All the Gurus in this succession are associates of Sri Gauranga—I pray for their remnants."

Ki rupe paiba seva | কিরূপে পাইব সেবা

Gurudev bada krpa kari | গুরুদেব! বড় কৃপা করি’
"When, O master, will you mercifully grant this servant the qualification to do this? Then my heart will become steadfast, I will tolerate everything, and I will serve the Lord sincerely."

Ye anila prema dhana | যে আনিল প্রেমধন
"I will break my head on a rock, I will enter into fire. Not finding the association of Sri Gauranga, who performed His Pastimes with all these associates, Narottam Das weeps."

108 KIRTANS recorded and collected throughout His Divine Grace's manifest pastimes, chanted among his associates, devotees and fortunate souls at various festivals, programmes and devotional assemblies. We pray this compilation can nourish devotees' hearts and its glory may continue to forever resound throughout the world.

His Divine Grace elaborates on transcendental significance of Hari-kirtan in Guidance 4:

'What does Krishna-sankirtan mean? Playing the mridanga, karatals and singing songs together with many people is not kirtan. If you sing together with some radio artist or a musician, you may practise music skills, but through radio kirtans you can neither taste the nectar of divine love that was described above, nor will such kirtan destroy your material bondage. It has to be pure sankirtan. It takes a pure great soul to bring and introduce such pure sankirtan. A pure great soul is a soul who has been captured by devotion through chanting of the Holy Name, and who has been accepted by Bhakti Devi. If you can join and assist the chanting, the dancing of such pure Vaishnavs, then when you see such chanting of the Holy Name, when you hear it, or speak about it, it will destroy your material existence, paralyse your material desires – your heart will become pure, and you will get to taste or realise this ocean of entire ecstasy. If you have an open mind, if your heart is clean, and if you do not have enmity or hostility, then all this will clearly appear before your eyes – maha-sankirtan will be resounding in your ears, and you will realise what a beautiful kirtan devotees do and how much joy they do it with.'

! The audio files can be listened to or downloaded by clicking on each kirtan below or accessed through: Google Drive (and download all together as a zipped archive – 360 Mb).

'It is said, “Krishna personally appears in Hari-sankirtan." That is the result of Hari-sankirtan. The Name, form, qualities, pastimes of Krishna reveal themselves. Those who can chant such kirtan or hear such kirtan will get the realisation that the Lord is full of love and mercy. Suppose there is a discussion about Krishna – if one’s heart does not get attracted to Him or the desire to serve Krishna does not arise in the listeners after hearing such a discussion, then you must understand that it is not the proper sankirtan. In the proper, pure Hari-sankirtan, you will feel in your heart that Sri Nam Prabhu is sach-chid-ananda (eternal, cognisant, and blissful). "Nama amani udita haya, bhakata-gita-same – when devotees chant the Holy Name, the Holy Name arises on its own." If the desire to know about Him and the inclination to serve Him awakens within you, then you must understand that you have heard the proper Hari-sankirtan.

'Sri Nityananda is the father of sankirtan, He is the presiding Deity of sankirtan. If you get taste for kirtan, you get the mercy of Nitai. "Kirtan" does not mean gratification of one’s own senses – when Sri Nityananda Prabhu hears chanting of the Holy Name, He becomes very happy. It is a matter of a great fortune and it a very great thing to become qualified to give joy to Sri Nitaichand, to attain the right to chant the Holy Name, and to feel happiness when chanting the Holy Name. This happiness comes by His mercy. If Nityananda Prabhu relishes someone’s kirtan, if He likes it, if He becomes happy, then His happiness is reflected onto the person chanting kirtan, i.e. the person who is chanting will also feel happy. "Kirtan" is not some melody, tune, or showing off music skills. Ecstasy of kirtan is born from a lustrous heart, purified by pure goodness. This is a very high attainment. Unless pure goodness appears in one’s heart, the ecstasy of kirtan can never appear there.'

Today in the calendar: Amavasya. Appearance of Srila Gadadhar Pandit Goswami.

In honour of Srila Gadadhar Pandit Goswami:

— { Pranam mantra of Sri Gadadhar Pandit Goswami } —

nilambhodhi-tate sada sva-viraha-ksepanvitam bandhavam
srimad-bhagavati katha madiraya sanjivayan bhati yah
srimad-bhagavatam sada sva-nayanasru-payanaih pujayan
gosvami-prabaro gadadhara-vibhur-bhuyat mad-eka-gatih

"On the shore of the ocean in Nilachal, Sri Gadadhar Pandit would read Srimad Bhagavatam to his Friend (Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu), who suffered from deep pain of separation from Himself (Krishna). Sri Gadadhar Pandit would supply the wine of Krishna-lila to intoxicate his afflicted Friend and thus give Him some relief. As he read, tears always fell from his eyes like flower offerings onto the pages of Srimad Bhagavatam. May this great personality, Sri Gadadhar Pandit, the best of the goswamis, always remain my only shelter."

(Composed by Srila B.R. Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj)

Sri Gadadhar Pandit Goswami
(A chapter from Srila Acharya Maharaj's Bengali book Sri Nabadwip Dham Mahatmya-mukta-mala)
"Sri Gadadhar Pandit stayed with Mahaprabhu from his childhood. His father's name was Madhav Misra, and his mother's name was Ratnavali Devi. They lived in Mayapur near Jagannath Misra's house. Mahaprabhu could never stay without Gadadhar Pandit, and Gadadhar Pandit could not stay without Mahaprabhu even a moment too..."

Service to Gaura-Gadadhar (By Srila B.R. Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj)
"Is worship of Gaura-Gadadhar a completely madhurya conception? Yes, and more than that. This worship is rather related to separation, or union in separation. Gadadhar Pandit represented Radharani's bhava, but though he is the possessor of that wealth, it was taken up by Mahaprabhu, so he stood empty."

Sri Gadadhar Pandit: Mahaprabhu's Shadow
(A chapter from Srila Acharya Maharaj's Bengali book Sri Puri Dham Mahatmya-mukta-mala)

About Sri Sri Gaura-Gadadhar
"Know your place when you serve, do not cross the line. Sri Sri Gaura-Gadadhar are extremely high Deities. They are worshipped only in very rare places, that is because the relationship between Sri Gaura and Sri Gadai is a very confidential, very high."

At Sri Chatak Parvat and Sri Tota Gopinath Temple
His Divine Grace is speaking at the bhajan-kutir of Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur and Sri Tota Gopinath temple on the first day of Sri Puri Dham parikrama, telling the pastimes of Srila Haridas Thakur's disappearance and Srila Gadadhar Pandit.

REAPING THE ETERNAL FRUIT
'This independence has been given to us by the Lord. Why? So that by our own desire and free wish we can engage ourselves in His service. With as much power at our command, as much as we desire, we can combine everything we have and render divine service to the Lord. The Lord’s feeling is, “I have given you independence, and I will not take it back. If you want to serve Me, you may do so; otherwise you can go to Maya. You may do as you wish. But you will be happy if you render service to Me. Why will you be happy? If you serve the eternal, you will reap the eternal fruit; if you serve the temporal, you must reap the temporary fruit.”'

SARANAGATI GITI: (Prabhu he!) suna mora duhkhera kahini
‘If You come to examine me, You will find multiple faults and not a trace of good qualities. Everyone in this world says that You are the master of the world, and, however wretched I may be, I am also part of this world.’

SARANAGATI GITI: Tatala saikate bari bindu-sama
‘I lived amidst children, friends, beautiful women and society, who are all like drops of water on a scorching sandy beach – forgetting You, I dedicated myself to them, but are they of any use now?’

(1) UTILISING OUR FORTUNE
'We must be conscious, therefore, about our position and about our service, then we will not be deviated from our position. But even if some deviation does come, if we are sincere we can emerge from that position also. When we live within this body, there is the possibility of deviation everywhere. ‘O Lord! My heart is pierced with a thick arrow. I have got a very rare body, but because I have not worshipped Lord Sri Krishna, my life has simply passed in vain.’

‘O great soul! “Sankarah Sankarah saksat” (Sankar is Mahadev-Sankar, Lord Siva, himself) – always remember these words. Sankar is a Guru of Vaishnavs, that is why Mahaprabhu spoke of him as an Acharya. Sankar is a perfect Vaishnav. When he made his advent in India, there was a very urgent need in a guna-avatara like him. At that time, discussions of Vedas and practices of varnasrama-dharma had become almost obliterated by the influence of Buddhist voidism, which is extremely atheistic. Although Buddhist doctrine contains some truth about jiva souls, that religion is quite temporal (non-eternal). At that time, almost all brahmans had become Buddhists and had almost completely given up Vedic religion. Filled with wondrous power, the advent of Sankar’s incarnation established the honour of Vedic scriptures and changed voidism into brahmanism. The work he performed is wonderful. India is eternally indebted to Sri Sankar for this great work. All works in the world can be divided into two types. Some works are related to some particular time (temporal), and some are not related to any time (timeless, eternal). The great work of Sankar’s incarnation is temporal, and many good results emerged from it. Sankar’s incarnation created a foundation upon which the incarnations of Sri Ramanuja, Sri Madhva and other great teachers later built the palace of pure Vaishnavism. Therefore, Sankar’s incarnation is the greatest friend of Vaishnavism and a predecessor acharya.

Sri Sankar revealed a conceptual path in this world, and to this day, Vaishnavs easily take advantage of its wealth. Sambandha-jnana (knowledge of the relationship) is extremely necessary for material conditioned souls. Vaishnavs and Sankar Acharya believe that gross bodies existent in this material world are different and separate from transcendental matter, but spiritually, there is no difference between a jiva soul’s internal and external identity. Both agree that giving up material world is called liberation (mukti), and up until attaining liberation, there is very much similarity between Sri Sankar and Vaishnav Acharyas. Sankar Acharya teaches that it is possible to purify one’s heart and attain liberation by practising God consciousness (by serving and worshipping the Lord), but only Sankar is silent about the transcendental path jiva souls face after attaining liberation. Sankar knew very well that if a jiva soul can progress on the path of liberation by serving the Lord, it will gradually, bound by the happiness of spiritual life, become a pure devotee. Therefore, when Sankar showed the path, he did not further reveal the mystery of Vaishnavs. Those who read and consider his commentaries very carefully can understand Sankar’s profound intention. But those who pass their time reading only the external parts of his teachings become driven away from proper Vaishnavism.

In Search of Real Benefit
"The question that Pariksit Maharaj asked Sukadev Goswami was, ‘How can I get real benefit?’ He asked him only one question. Do you know how you can get real benefit in Kali-yuga? What should you do not to get any birth again?"

'Even to see the outside of the Dham is beneficial, but if we make aparadh, offence, it is detrimental to our spiritual life. And if we cannot see properly the real transcendental Dham, at least we should try not to see the opposite thing—to see it as only mundane. The Dham is covered by illusion, but even so, there is some brilliance, and that glow or brilliance of the Dham may touch us if we stay there without offence. But if we stay there too long we may become overly familiar and then that glow may leave us.'

Today in the calendar: Gaura Saptami. Jahnu Saptami: Sri Jahnavi Puja (worship of the Ganga).

In honour of Sri Jahnavi Puja (Sri Ganga Puja):

"...While speaking, they went to Jan Nagar and saw the beauty of the hermitage of Jahnu Muni. Nityananda Prabhu said, 'This charming abode is known as Jahnudwip and Bhadravan. Jahnu Muni performed austerities here and saw the golden form of Gaura. Once, when Jahnu Muni sat here to perform his evening meditation, His copper vessel fell into the swiftly flowing River Ganga. The copper vessel fell into the river and floated away. Jahnu Muni then drank all the water of the Ganga with his palm. Maharaj Bhagirath thought, "Where did the Ganga go?" Bewildered, he began to think over the situation. Understanding that Jahnu Muni had drunk all the water of the Ganga, Maharaj Bhagirath became concerned. Sober Maharaj Bhagirath worshipped the sage for some time, and eventually the Ganga broke out of the sage's body. Thereafter, she became known as Jahnavi. The whole world now calls her 'Jahnavi'.'"

In honour of Sri Sita Devi:

"Lord Ramachandra said to Sri Sita Devi, 'Loving devotion to Me is relished in two ways. O Sita, please hear My words. The joy felt during union with Me is called sambhoga. The joy felt during separation from Me is called vipralambha. My devotees, My eternal associates, desire sambhoga, and by My grace, they experience vipralambha. Devotees know that the sadness felt for My sake during vipralambha is actually the greatest joy. When sambhoga occurs after vipralambha, the happiness felt is ten million times greater than before. Separation from Me is the cause of that happiness. Accept this as truth; the four Vedas affirm it. During My Pastimes as Sri Gauranga, Mother Kausalya, who is known in the Vedas as Aditi, will appear as Sachi Devi. You will serve Me as Visnu Priya. In separation from Me, You will make a Deity of My golden form. In separation from You, I will make a golden Sita and worship You in Ayodhya. In exchange, You will make a Deity of My golden form and worship Me in Nadia. O Sita, these profound topics are very confidential. They will not be revealed to the public now. Some guidance regarding the forthcoming grand festival in honour of Lord Sri Nrisinghadev's Appearance and the holy Vyasa Puja festival of His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad Srila Bhakti Tilak Niriha Maharaj:

According to the rules established at Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math by our worshippable Sri Guru-varga, the holy day of Lord Sri Nrisinghadev's appearance is observed in the following way:

Sri Nrisingha-chaturdasi adhivas: devotees follow the daily programme of the temple engaging in various services and prepare for the festival (decorating the temple, purchasing and collecting bhoga, inviting honourable guests, etc.).
Sri Nrisingha-chaturdasi day: devotees follow the daily programme of the temple, reading scriptures, engaging in various services, and observe a complete fast until sunset.
Sri Nrisingha-chaturdasi evening (sunset): the evening programme starts before the evening arati (around 4 p.m.) following which an opulent bhoga is offered to the Deities in the evening, containing various grain and non-grain preparations (the grain preparations are made in small quantities, just for the offering of the Deities). At sunset (the time of Lord Nrisinghadev's appearance), the Deities are offered the evening arati and devotees honour anukalpa prasadam (non-grain, similar to what is taken on ekadasi) before finishing the rest of the services and retiring for rest. His Divine Grace comments that anything can be offered on this day, mentioning that our Temple always makes a nice preparation of sweet rice using best ingredients (best rice, milk, raisins and nuts) on this day and that dub, fresh coconut water, can also be offered to provide soothing coolness to the Lord on His appearance day.
The next day morning and afternoon: the morning daily programme continues as usual; paran (breaking the fast) is at 5:09–9:26 a.m. this year, so after offering bhoga to the Deities in the morning, devotees break the fast with the grain maha-prasadam remnants from the day before and from the morning offering. After that, devotees engage in various services and a little later hold a Vaishnav Seva festival programme starting from 9–10 a.m. until midday. Following the main programme of Hari-katha and Hari-kirtan, the Deities are offered another special opulent offering of bhoga at noon as well as the noon arati, after which everyone is lovingly served festive maha-prasadam.

Because the holy appearance day of Lord Nrisinghadev coincides with the divine appearance of His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad Srila B.T. Niriha Maharaj, devotees observe these auspicious days by remembering both the Lord and His associate, following the programme outlined above.

Below is an extensive collection of photographs taken during the festival in 2019 which was observed in the shelter and under the guidance of our beloved Sri Gurupadpadma Om Vishnupad Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj at Sri Nrisingha Palli, Sri Nabadwip Dham, in 2019:

With all the devotees striving heart and soul to please Sri Gurupadpadma and serve all the Vaishnavs, the festival passes gloriously and gorgeously.

[Addressing a devotee who did not go to the temple but made a festival at home.] Why did you have a home festival? You should have gone to the festival at the temple. If there is a temple in your city or nearby, you must go to the temple. How do you make a festival alone at home? You only cook, offer some bhog, and take prasadam—it basically means cooking too much and eating it yourself... You must always go to the temple. What did Gurudev make the temple for? For preaching, to arranging festivals and for giving you a place where you can gather and take devotees' association. It is necessary to understand this. Everybody have a right to stay at the temple, everybody has a right to go to the temple, and everybody must follow the rules and regulations of the temple—be humble, tolerant, and give honour to others. Follow the rules and regulations that Gurudev has established, that will be perfect. We cannot make our own rules, it is not good. The rules must be always the rules and regulations that Gurudev has set. Always behave very nicely with the devotees, be humble, tolerant, and give honour to others. This is what Gurudev teaches us, these are the main qualities we must have. Be humble, tolerant, and give honour to others, and you must also have proper surrender—do not be a hypocrite, do not practise false renunciation; surrender must be proper.

(Srila B.N. Acharya Maharaj, Perfect Rules)

Heartfelt Prayers
"I have no strength, I have no intelligence, I am very poor! Please hijack me! Please give me strength so that I may be able to tolerate everything. I do not want any honour or respect for myself. I want to give honour to everyone. Please give me such power. It is necessary to always chant kirtans in this way."

SECURE AT HOME
'If you can think you can make a garland out of all the peaks of the Himalayas and the peaks of all the mountains of the world and offer that to Krishna, and if you think you can make a rope out of spiders’ webs and bind an elephant, then you may be able to understand something of that plane. So it is not necessary to think too much, but instead our main attention is to try to chant "Hare Krishna" properly. This is our main channel to go there and this is our one hope.'

SARANAGATI GITI: Chit-kana jiva krsna chinmaya bhaskara
‘Souls are spiritual sparks, and Krishna is the transcendental sun, so they eternally see and revere Him. But when some souls turn away from Krishna and desire to enjoy, Maya, who is always nearby, pounces on them.’

About His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad Srila Bhakti Tilak Niriha Maharaj
Holy Guidance of Srila B.N. Acharya Maharaj: "Those who are fit to be disciplined are called disciples. They want to be chastised, they get chastised—such disciples become gurus. If somebody wants to be chastised, has been chastised, and if Gurudev has made and is making a disciple from them, then such a disciple has the qualities of a guru."

"Guru is the divine messenger of immortal hope and joy in this mortal and miserable world. His advent is the most auspicious and happy event to the suffering animation and can be compared to the rising of the morning star that can guide the traveller lost in the desert. A gentle touch of Sri Guru's merciful hand can wipe away the incessant tears from all weeping eyes. Oh the day when this poor soul realises the causeless grace of Sri Gurudev."

(Srila B.R. Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj, Sri Guru and His Grace)

Power of the Holy Name: Abode of Sweetness
'If you chant this Name of Krishna so many times but still there is no love, there are no tears streaming from your eyes, then as I understand there are too many offences and the seed of Krsna's Name does not sprout.'
