Mon, 1 December 2025 (Fast on Sri Moksada Ekadasi)
Difficult Does Not Mean Impossible
'The problem is that even if people come to this line, they become derailed.
Leaving the path of devotion, you end up pursuing all kinds of other paths.
The problem is not even on the mental level – the problem is simply greed of
your tongues. This is the only reason why you cannot come to this path.'

SRI EKADASI GUIDANCE
Sri Ekadasi Guidance Guidelines on how to observe and honour this holy day: Ekadasi takes an
indispensible part in the life of a sincere practitioner. At Sri Chaitanya
Saraswat Math, Ekadasi and paran are observed with affection and without
fail according to the dates given in the Calendar.
Renunciation of Cowards and Misers [By Srila B.R. Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj]
'What we need is yukta-vairagya: we shall take from the store of
Krishna to keep ourselves fit and to do service. It is Krishna's account, and
if we do not do that, we will be separatists, mayavadis, renunciationists. We
must render maximum service to Krishna, so we must take without any
hesitation whatever is necessary to make ourselves fit for the service;
otherwise, we shall be punishable.'
"Sri
Ekadasi"
(Sri Sri Prema Vivarta)
"One day, Gaurahari left the Gundicha Temple and sat in the Jagannath
Vallabha garden. It was pure Ekadasi, and the Lord spent the whole day and
night chanting the Name of Krishna..."
•SONG:
Suddha-bhakata |
শুদ্ধ ভকত-চরণ-রেণু "I carefully observe the holy days related to Madhava, they are the mother
of devotion."
•SONG:
Sri hari-vasare |
শ্রীহরি-বাসরে হরি "On the holy day of Sri Hari, Sriman Mahaprabhu, the life and
soul of the universe, began dancing..."
"You do not need to know the meaning of each ekadasi tithi because
if you know it, you will want to get this result, that result, etc."

All Glory to Sri Sri Guru Gauranga
Divine
Appearance Day of Sri Gurupadpadma
Dear Devotees and Well-Wishers:
Humbly bowing down at your holy feet, we are extending to everyone a cordial
invitation to observe the grand festival in honour of the holy appearance day
of Param-pujyapad Parivrajakacharya-varya Visva-guru Om Vishnupad Sri Srimad
Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj that manifests on 6 December
2025 (Saturday) this year.
Remembering the holy lotus feet of our eternal Divine Master, Om Vishnupad
Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj, we pray that every devotee of Sri
Chaitanya Saraswat Math may find a possibility to observe this day immersed
in Sri Hari-katha, Hari-kirtan and Hari-seva, which are so extremely
dear and pleasing to our Sri Gurupadpadma and entire Guru-varga, and remember
the transcendental glories of His Divine Grace Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda
Dev-Goswami Maharaj, by whose mercy the banner of Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math
was hoisted to fly high all over the world, through his sincere devotees,
instructions, lectures and books.
Taking your footdust on our heads, we humbly wish that this supremely
worshippable divine appearance day of Om Vishnupad Srila Bhakti Sundar
Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj, celebrated with much joy and grandeur by the

We humbly share the following as general guidance on conducting festivals
that we have learned from the association and eternal pastimes of His Divine
Grace Om Vishnupad Srila Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj. Generally, the
programmes arranged and hosted by Sri Gurupadpadma would go as follows:
•
Assembling, gathering and welcoming all august Vaishnavs and devotees with
obeisances, sweet words and garlands; •
A brief introductory opening speech; •
Chanting kirtans:
– Vandana recital
– Sri Guru Parampara kirtan ('Krsna haite
chaturmukha')
– Sri Gurudev's kirtan ('Gurudev! Krpa bindu diya' or
'Gurudev bada krpa kari')
– Sri Pancha-tattva's kirtan ('Sri Krsna Chaitanya Prabhu jive'
or 'Sri Krsna Chaitanya daya kara')
– Sri Vaishnav Thakur's kirtan ('Kabe Sri Chaitanya more', 'Krpa
kara Vaisnava Thakura' or 'Ohe Vaisnava Thakura')
– Sriman Nityananda Prabhu's kirtan ('Nitai-guna-mani amar',
'Nitai-pada-kamala' or 'Akrodha paramananda')
– Sriman Mahaprabhu's kirtan ('Gaurangera duti pada', 'Parama
Karuna' or 'Emana durmati')
– Sri Sri Radha Krishna's kirtan ('Jaya Radhe Jaya Krsna' or 'Jaya
Radha Madhava')
– Hare Krishna Maha-mantra
•
Class or reading from scriptures (glorification of Sri Gurupadpadma); •
If other senior Vaishnavs are
present, they are given turn to speak; •
Concluding kirtan('Hari haraye Nama Krsna', Hare
Krishna maha-mantra); •
Devotees chant kirtan (Guru-arati) and offer
puspanjali (flower petals) to the picture of Sri Gurupadapadma; •
Offering bhoga followed by arati worship (usually, such
programmes take place at noon, so first bhoga arati is chanted,
then the aratikirtans); •
Distributing prasadam with care and affection; •
Presenting daksin and/or auspicious items to senior Vaishnavs or
devotees in general; •
Affectionate farewell; •
Completing cleaning, tidying and other services as required.
From the holy lotus mouth of Sri Gurupadapdma Om Vishnupad Jagad-Guru Srila
Bhakti Nirmal Acharya Maharaj:
•"What did Gurudev leave us for? So that we join the festival, give some
glorification, take prasadam, and leave? Our service does not finish there.
We must distribute to others what Gurudev told all over the world, what
Gurudev kept for us—his books, his audio and video recordings. What we
invent or discover is not necessary to distribute; distribute what he told,
what he invented and discovered, that is sufficient—people will be
benefitted through that. That is necessary for us. We should understand what
he wanted and what he did not want..."
•"Gurudev, Srila Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj always wanted to give some
prasadam to the devotees, and I saw in Chaitanya-charitamrita,
Prapanna-jivanamritam, and even Jagadananda Pandit's Prema-vivarta
that if you have something, you must give it to others—if you have no wealth,
you can give others some prasadam, and if you have no prasadam,
nothing, you can give others sweet words. That is the main thing. You can
make others happy with sweet words."
•"All the devotees know how to cook, what is there to it? When Nityananda
Prabhu is in Ekachakra, He likes roasted and mashed eggplant (begun
pora), and when Nityananda Prabhu comes to Venezuela or Colombia, He
takes arepa there. What is the problem? Nityananda Prabhu's taste is
different—He can take different things from everybody and from everywhere as
long as you cook it with heart. The main thing is to serve with
heart—not to do anything artificially. When you do any service or
cook anything, you must do it with heart, then it will be good for everybody,
and then Mahaprabhu, or Krishna, or Nityananda Prabhu will be happy—They will
enjoy, and Gurudev will also enjoy. This is the main advice how to do
everything. It is necessary for us to understand this."
An extensive guidance on the proper service mood during the Vaishnav seva
festivals is kept in the Daily Practice section of the website:
Observing Festivals A page of the Daily Practice section dedicated to Vaishnav-seva and
observing festivals. "Why are you making a festival? Making a festival
means you are inviting many people and you are giving them some
prasadam, engaging them in Krishna consciousness—it means practising
Krishna consciousness."
Note:
Some of the many preparations known to be favourite to His Divine Grace Srila
B.S. Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj include rice, mung or chana dal, stir-fried
karela, sak, posto bora, aloo siddho (boiled potato, mashed with chilli and
salt), cauliflower pakoras, singara (samosa), mixed vegetable subji, paneer
rasa, tomato chutney, achar (pickle), avocado salad (with a little salt and
olive oil), cucumber salad, mango, paramanna (sweet rice), rasagullas,
sandesh, a cake, vanilla ice-cream.

Distribute Krishna Consciousness!
"There are so many people suffering in this world: they, too, are searching
for the main source; they, too, are searching for the hidden treasure. They
wait for somebody to come and distribute it to them. Go and distribute this
hidden treasure to everyone!"

FORTUNATE INDEED
'We are so fortunate that we have many things, now it is the time to use that
“property” properly. I heard from Srila Guru Maharaj the phrase, “religion is
proper adjustment.” Everything has been given but it is necessary for us to
make proper adjustment: to understand who we are; what our duty is; who is
Krishna, and who is His servitor.'
Sri Sri Prema-Dhama Deva Stotram(Part Two, chanted on Sundays)
'Very tall, beautiful and infused with divine love, His holy form increases
gods’ joy; the lustre of His body, which puts millions of golden lotuses to
shame, is worshipped by the Moon; and His intrinsic form is a holy abode of
divine pastimes manifest as eternal ever-increasing transcendental ecstatic
transformations that spring up as He revels dancing in Sri
Krishna-sankirtan – I am singing in praise of this beautiful Lord Sri
Gauranga-sundar, a worshippable Deity of divine love.'

Wasted Time –
Wasted Life
'You do not understand it now. You think, "I will live more!", "I will eat
more!" but can any of you be sure that you are not going to leave this world
tomorrow or this very moment? Even when you get old, you still think that you
have much time. As the result, you have no time for the Lord or to chant the
Holy Name of the Lord.'

Offering Bhoga on
Ekadasi
"Sometimes, devotees live in their houses – if they offer rice, dal or
khichuri on ekadasi, how will they take it? They do not want to
throw away food, so they do not offer grains on this day. However, if it is a
temple with Deities, then we must offer everything, both ekadasi and
non-ekadasi preparations."

In honour of the forthcoming

Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj:
• DIGNITY OF THE DIVINE SERVITOR •
(3.1) THE WRITTEN WORD
'All over the world Srila Guru Maharaj arranged the fire sacrifice of
sankirtan and we are the ingredients to fuel the flames of that fire,
but if we hide ourselves from there then that is not real saving, but that is
suiciding. That is, everything is transcendentally arranged there and
therefore we cannot feel the burning sensation. Only we can feel the
transcendental joyful nourishment of the mood of sacrifice.'
(3.2) JEWELS
'Sankirtan means that all together we are chanting the Holy Names and
offering service whole-heartedly to our Divine Master and our Lord. Krishna
only looks at this qualification and no other. Each one is like an auspicious
stick of wood fully dedicating himself for the exaltation of Srila Guru
Maharaj by entering into the sankirtan fire sacrifice. These sticks
are burning happily because they do not receive pain, only purification. It
is my only prayer to you all that you must look to this central Math where
there is continuous service to the Deities and Srila Guru Maharaj as well as
the living sankirtan fire sacrifice which is always continuing
here.'
Sri Sri Prema-Dhama Deva Stotram(Part Four, chanted on Tuesdays)
'Overcome with strong bouts of divine love surging through Him and becoming
unconscious of the world around Him, He dances madly and chants
kirtan; the tears streaming incessantly from His eyes flood His body,
the colour of molten gold and tall as the mount Sumeru, His clothes, the
colour of the newly risen sun, and the earth in all fourteen directions
around Him; He glows as He chants, ‘Krishna! Krishna!’, shouts jumbled up
words and relishes various postures and behaviours (roaring with laughter,
etc.) under the influence of divine love – I am singing in praise of this
beautiful Lord Sri Gauranga-sundar, a worshippable Deity of divine love.'

Be Conscious, Be
Good
'If you have no devotion, what will mantras do? Do you think that if you just
recite some mantra, this is worship? Worship is done through devotion.
When people come to take initiation, they do many things, but that is all
external. The main thing is that devotion must come to your hearts. But if
devotion decides to come to your hearts, where will it stay?'

'Om Vishnupad Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj appeared in the

OUR FORTUNATE ASSOCIATION
'It is my special conception that of both the Gurus, one is as avatara
[incarnation], and one is as avatari [origin of all Incarnations].
Actually, Mahaprabhu came as yuga-avatara, and Srila Swami Maharaj
came like a yuga-avatara preacher. But within Mahaprabhu there was
another form. So I can see Srila Swami Maharaj and Srila Guru Maharaj in a
nondifferent way—one form as an avatara, another as avatari.
You all know that Guru Maharaj gave us the finest conception, and Srila Swami
Maharaj made all the arrangements—he arranged for the recipients of Krishna
consciousness; he made the ground and the field, and he planted the seed; he
gave the chance.'
Sri Sri Prema-Dhama Deva Stotram(Part Five, chanted on Wednesdays)
'He reveals (first, to Sri Sanatan and then to Prakasananda) sixty-two
interpretations of the famous verse ‘Atmaramas cha… ittham-bhuta-guno
harih’ (‘Even self-realised, self-satisfied souls are moved to worship
the Lord’) from Srimad Bhagavatam; interpreting the various lexical
meanings of the eleven words of this verse, juxtaposed in different ways, He
reveals a treasure-mine of multitudinous meanings of this verse in consonance
with the precepts of pure devotional conclusions – I am singing in praise of
this beautiful Lord Sri Gauranga-sundar, a worshippable Deity of divine
love.'

AWAKENING OUR HEARTS TO ETERNAL JOY
'We have seen many things in this mundane world. If we try to realize for
ourselves what is good and what is bad, we shall also understand. It won’t be
necessary to take help from outside. Still, that is not sufficient for our
human life. We need even more than that, and that is Krishna consciousness,
enquiry after God.'
Sri Sri Prema-Dhama Deva Stotram(Part Six, chanted on Thursdays)
'Captivated by and afflicted with an intense feeling of separation, He runs
swiftly to the simha-dvara gate of Lord Jagannathdev’s holy temple;
the next moment He falls down on the spot, His holy figure transformed into
that of a tortoise by the influence of deep separation; attracted by the
uncommon divine fragrance emanating from His holy figure, the Telangi cows
residing at the temple draw near, surrounding Him – I am singing in praise of
this beautiful Lord Sri Gauranga-sundar, a worshippable Deity of divine
love.'

A collection of beautiful photographs taken to commemorate Sri Chaitanya

Sri Sri Prema-Dhama Deva Stotram(Part One, chanted on Saturdays)
'Demigods, perfected souls, liberated souls, yogis and Lord’s devotees always
sing His praise; He relieves the world from the blazing forest fire of
three-fold miseries (caused by the desire for enjoyment, liberation and
perfections) brought about by inauspicious actions (performed in aversion to
the Supreme Lord); an ocean of generosity, He bestows His own Name from the
nectarean storehouse of Lord Sri Krishna’s Names – I am singing in praise of
this beautiful Lord Sri Gauranga-sundar, a worshippable Deity of divine
love.'
Question: It seems that we have one type of fear that having
got some connection with your self we may lose that at death. I do not want
to have connection with anyone else, I want to stay with you. So, I feel some
type of fear...
Srila B.S. Govinda Dev-Goswami Maharaj: Fear? But why have fear? I
cannot understand it.
Devotee: Because if we do not finish our sadhana nicely, then next
life we do not know where we will go—we may not find Govinda Maharaj
there.
Srila Govinda Maharaj: What do you think about Govinda Maharaj?
Devotee: We think that we want to serve you.
Srila Govinda Maharaj:
No, it is okay that you want to serve Govinda Maharaj, but what do you think
about Govinda Maharaj? He is your guru, but in which form do you think about
him? Do you think that Govinda Maharaj is a mundane man or an incarnation of
the Lord coming in front of you to give you connection with Him? If you think
he is an incarnation of the Lord, then he cannot leave your heart and you
cannot leave your Lord. Even if you die, you will get that connection in
another form, perhaps, but you will not be able to leave your Lord. When you
have faith that the Lord always lives with you, then there will be no
fear.
That is the main thing. By the mercy of Vaishnavs I also always feel that my
Srila Guru Maharaj (Srila B.R. Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj) is present with
us. By the mercy of Vaishnavs and the supremacy of Srila Guru Maharaj, such
feeling always comes to us that Srila Guru Maharaj has not left us, that he
is with us.
I have service of Srila Guru Maharaj, and I must do that. Service to Srila
Guru Maharaj is my only goal of life, and whichever way that service comes to
me, I will try to serve.
Devotee: In my next life, I want to forever be a blade of grass
wherever you walk...
Srila Govinda Maharaj:
I do not want to wait for the next life. Actually, we must finish all our job
here this life, then we shall all go to Goloka!

Gurudev's
Appearance
"Today is 1 January, the first day of the year, and this is the
day of my Gurupadpadma Om Vishnupad Jagad Guru Srila Bhakti Sundar Govinda
Dev-Goswami Maharaj's appearance. Choosing this holy dvitiya tithi
day, Gurudev appeared in this world 92 years ago."
Gurudev's Coming
to Temple
"One day, Srila Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj's preaching party came to
Nadanghat on their way back from preaching. They did collection during the
day, and in the evening they would give a class and chant kirtans at
the house of some zamindar. When they came to Nadanghat, Gurudev came and sat
at the programme, listening to the Hari-katha."
Perfect
Adherence
"Within seven days after Guru Maharaj's coming to the temple, Srila Sridhar
Maharaj told him, 'Do not follow what your mind tells you. You must do only
what I tell you. Never do what your mind tells you to do.' Remember
this."
Who Is Guru?
"Guru is the one whom the Lord has invested all his power. Once you get the
mercy of the Guru, you will get all mercy. If Krishna bestows His mercy on
any fortunate soul, then Guru teaches that soul everything in his omniscient
(antaryami) form."
Sri Guru Tattva
"Souls wander throughout this universe, but if some fortunate souls take by
Krishna's mercy the seed of devotion from Gurudev and practises Krishna
consciousness, they can reach the Lord's abode! Do you understand what I am
saying?"
Guru's Greed,
Disciple's Greed
"These are desires or your tongue and mind! The souls never wants all this,
but we are so greedy that we think that our mind and our soul are one and the
same. People do not understand what is mind and what is the soul..."
Deceivers and
Deceived
"If somebody lives in enjoyment, is foolish (ignorant of what one's duty is
and what must not do) and lives following any other path except pure
devotion, then even if this person is called a guru (in name only), it is the
order of the scriptures that he must be given up."

as a beggar for food—come as a beggar for spiritual life! Always remember

(1) AFFECTION
'We need good association. Then affection will grow. Otherwise, the fitness
will not come for us to progress in the higher plane. First, a relationship
will come through association, and when a relationship is formed affection
may come. It is first necessary to have a relationship with Guru and
Vaishnava, the devotee of God; otherwise affection cannot be ours.'

'Lord Ramachandra is a righteous person dedicated to moral rules and
obligations. But when it comes to the service to the Lord, there are no such
moral rules. Remember this. Moral obligations, sense of duty, etc. have no

(2) GOING DEEPER
'We must try to avoid Vaishnava-aparadha, and then we can succeed with
everything else in our spiritual life. For our real goal of life we must
cross over Viraja. At present our universe is actually floating in Viraja.
But beyond Viraja and Brahman also is Paravyoma, or the transcendental world.
The question always arises here—can we achieve it or not? But we can.'
Sri Sri Prema-Dhama Deva Stotram(Part Three, chanted on Mondays)
'He ardently preached that service performed in various divine relationships
(from dasya-, sakhya-, vatsalya- to madhura-rasa)
and the (paramount) service beauty of Sri Radha’s servitors in the highest
paramour madhura-rasa, as well as any transcendental hankering of the

Life
beyond Renunciation [By Srila B.R. Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj]
'The highest law is that you must not leave anything but try to utilise
everything for His service. You are a servant. You are to serve, and there
are many objects through which you are to serve. It is abnormal to try to
exploit or enjoy a particular thing or to cast it off hatefully thinking that
it will harm me. Both are artificial.'

this beautiful Lord Sri Gauranga-sundar, a worshippable Deity of divine

Lord. He is telling you what to do—do this, do that. This is
bhagavat-dharma.'
Krishna!’, shouts jumbled up
words and relishes various postures and behaviours (roaring with laughter,

beautiful Lord Sri Gauranga-sundar, a worshippable Deity of divine love.'

Renunciation of Renunciation [By Srila B.R. Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj]
"To abnegate and cut off our connection with the environment is not our
object. Our object is, rather, to utilise everything for the service of the
Lord. Why should we eliminate anything? Why should we disregard anything? We
must not denounce, reject or dishonour things. We must use them properly,
with reverence, then they will draw benefit from me and bring benefit for me.
Environment can help me earn more, then why should I reject my environment

it could be traced only in his internal sweetness. After his departure I

(3) BRAHMA-GAYATRI
'The meaning of the brahma-gayatri-mantra must bring us to the
conclusion of Srimad Bhagavatam. The gayatri-mantra and
Srimad Bhagavatam are one and the same. It is the very gist of the
Vedanta-sutra. The meaning of the gayatri-mantra must be in the
line of Srimad Bhagavatam. If we analyze how this is possible, we
shall uncover the steps between them.'
Sri Sri Prema-Dhama Deva Stotram(Part Six, chanted on Thursdays)
'Captivated by and afflicted with an intense feeling of separation, He runs
swiftly to the simha-dvara gate of Lord Jagannathdev’s holy temple;
the next moment He falls down on the spot, His holy figure transformed into

Journey from Misguidance to Absolute Guidance [By Srila B.R. Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj]
"It is possible to connect with Him only through surrender, and it will be He
who will decide how He will best suit you. Let Him decide it. 'Hare Krishna'
is not a prayer for anything; it is only an address, 'O Hare Krishna, I want

in danger, and I want Your protection; how you will protect me is to be
decided by You, it is not my business.' By embracing His consideration is

holy feet of our Gurudev. I wish everyone lived without pain and sadness, but
people consciously drink poison—they know it, they have heard about it, but
they are taking poison... We must practise Krishna consciousness."

PURE
DEVOTION
'We can approach the Supreme Lord only through submission, and when we
achieve Him, we won’t care for knowing anything else. We will have no regard
for what is happening or not happening in the outside world. We will deeply
engage in His service for His satisfaction.'
Sri Sri Prema-Dhama Deva Stotram(Part One, chanted on Saturdays)
'Demigods, perfected souls, liberated souls, yogis and Lord’s devotees always
sing His praise; He relieves the world from the blazing forest fire of
three-fold miseries (caused by the desire for enjoyment, liberation and
perfections) brought about by inauspicious actions (performed in aversion to
the Supreme Lord); an ocean of generosity, He bestows His own Name from the
nectarean storehouse of Lord Sri Krishna’s Names – I am singing in praise of
this beautiful Lord Sri Gauranga-sundar, a worshippable Deity of divine
love.'

You. You please consider and decide what will suit me. I only want You. I am
in danger, and I want Your protection; how You will protect me is to be
decided by You, it is not my business.' By embracing His consideration is
where we gain the most. We must only try to increase, if possible, the degree
of our surrender. That is what is actually necessary from us."

Sri Sri Prema-Dhama Deva Stotram(Part Two, chanted on Sundays)
'Very tall, beautiful and infused with divine love, His holy form increases

Maya's Test [By Srila B.R. Sridhar Dev-Goswami Maharaj] Question: When we start chanting the
maha-mantra Hare Krishna, it seems that in the beginning we get more
realisation, more of the mantra, whereas as time goes it seems more
and more difficult. Many devotees have mentioned that they have this feeling
that it becomes more difficult. Why does this happen?
Today in the calendar:
Krishna Ekadasi. No fast. Disappearance of Srila Devananda Pandit (an
associate in Sriman Mahaprabhu's pastimes) and Srimad Bhakti Prakas Aranya
Maharaj (a diksa and sannyas disciple of Srila Prabhupad Bhaktisiddhanta
Saraswati Thakur).
His Divine Grace Om Vishnupad Srila B.N. Acharya Maharaj: "Even if you do
not know anything about the Vaishnav mentioned in the calendar, you must
still give them 'jay' on this day. We must always remember disappearance and
appearance days of all Vaishnavs. If we can remember such personalities, such
great souls, it will bring a great benefit to our spiritual life. If you
remember the glories of Vaishnavs, if you speak about the glories of
Vaishnavs, they can rescue you from all kinds of material bondage. We have
heard a hundred times that if we glorify Vaishnavs, it gives great benefit,
but even though we have heard it a thousand times, how much are we able to
glorify Vaishnavs from our heart? How much can we serve Vaishnavs with heart
and soul? This is the question."
In honour of Srila Devananda
Pandit:
Learn Proper
Conception
"Sometimes we can unconsciously make an offence, but through good association
we can hear and understand the proper guidance, proper etiquette. If we do
not know it, then no matter how much we practise, how much we chant and how
much service we do, we can still sometimes be doing some aparadh."

'You Are

monopoly. Why should we be disappointed? It is all for the best. Everything
comes to help us. Blame yourself for your past activity. Do not waste
your energy on blaming others and throwing mud in the face of others. It is
only a waste of your energy. Not only stop blaming the circumstances but
learn to appreciate that it is He who is at the back of it all. He is
all-love. I am searching what is my fate, what is my fortune, so I have come
to find Him, and He is not a stone, not an ignorant infinite, but a conscious
and loving, merciful infinite. I am surrounded by Him. Why should I be
rejected?"

kirtan; the tears streaming incessantly from His eyes flood His body,

known as Sri Uddharan Datta, was a resident of Saptagram, which is situated
on the bank of the Sarasvati River near the Trisabigha railway station in the
district of Hooghly.
"In Sri Chaitanya-bhagavata, Antya-khanda, Chapter Five, it is said that
Uddharan Datta was an extremely elevated and liberal Vaishnav. He was born
with the right to worship Nityananda Prabhu. It is also stated that
Nityananda Prabhu, after staying for some time in Khadadaha, came to
Saptagram and stayed in the house of Uddharan Datta.
"In Saptagrama there is still a temple with a six-armed Deity of Sri
Chaitanya Mahaprabhu that was personally worshiped by Srila Uddharan Datta
Thakur. On the right side of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu is a Deity of Sri
Nityananda Prabhu, and on the left side is Gadadhar Prabhu. Uddharan Datta
Thakur was the manager of the estate of a big zamindar in Naihati, about one
and a half miles north of Katwa. The relics of this royal family are still
visible near the Daiìhata station. Since Uddharan Datta Thakur was the
manager of the estate, it was also known as Uddharan-pur. Uddharan Datta
Thakur installed Nitai-Gaura Deities that were later brought to the house of
the zamindar, which was known as Vanaoyaribada. Srila Uddharan Datta Thakur
remained a householder throughout his life. His father's name was Srikara
Datta, his mother's name was Bhadravati, and his son's name was Srinivas

SERVICE TO GURU
'Throughout our lives, we have developed our skills, developed our mental
capacity through knowledge, and now we shall have to develop our feeling

MARCHING ON TO GLORY

(1) THE APPEARANCE OF SRI GAURASUNDAR
'Within the sacred land of India, the holy footprints of the Lord and His
devotees are a place of pilgrimage for the whole world. The seven auspicious
places in India which are said to award liberation are all found within those
footprints. Among those holy places is Sri Mayapur which is situated in Sri
Nabadwip Dham...'

(2) PERFECT CONCLUSIONS OF THE SCRIPTURES
'In India there are a thousand-and-one so-called religions. But the sincere
and thoughtful must embrace the highest path of all, the path of Gaudiya
Vaishnavism, which teaches, simultaneously from the standpoint of ontology as
well as full-fledged theism, the attainment of divine love based on the
science of faith.'
(3) UNIVERSAL CONCEPTION OF GURU
'The scriptures in general present a very broad and universal conception of
Sri Guru, laying stress on the spiritual substance—that divine current of
nectar that flows down to this plane from the highest domain through the
inspiration that is found in the heart of a real Vaishnava. To deny divine
revelation through another agent in the name of being chaste to one’s guru
can be offensive and even suicidal.'
(4) VAISHNAVA SIDDHANTA: SERVING THE VAISHNAVAS
'With surrender to the Lord as one’s guardian, we finally come to know who is
who, and who to really love and serve. Full surrender of body, mind and words
establishes us in our real position and then our God consciousness becomes
Krishna consciousness.'

Today in the calendar:
Gaura Tritiya. Disappearance of Srila Jiva Goswami Prabhu and Srila
Jagadis Pandit.

About Sri Jagadish
Pandit:
Sri Jagadish
Pandit
"Born in Guwahati, Assam, Sri Jagadish Pandit came to live in Nabadwip. Sri
Jagadish Pandit and Hiranya lived together on the bank of the Gages near Sri
Jagannath Misra's house, and Mahaprabhu would often come to visit them."

"Jagadish Pandit was formerly a great dancer in Krishna-lila and was known
as Chandrahasa. He belonged to the village of Yasada-gram, in the district of
Nadia near the Chakadaha railway station. His father, the son of Bhatta
Narayan, was named Kamalaksa. Both his father and mother were great devotees
of Lord Visnu, and after their death, Jagadish, with his wife Duhkhini and
brother Mahesa, left his birthplace and came to Sri Mayapur to live in the
company of Jagannath Misra and other Vaisnavas. Lord Chaitanya asked Jagadish
to go to Jagannath Puri to preach the Harinam sankirtan movement. After
returning from Jagannath Puri, on the order of Lord Jagannath he established
Deities of Jagannath in the village of Yasada-gram."
"Sri Jagadish is described in the Gaura-ganoddesa-dipika (192) as follows:
'Sri Jagadish and Hiranya previously appeared as the wives of the yajnic
brahmans of Vraja. The Lord asked for the grains they offered to Vishnu on
the day of Ekadasi. Chandrahasa, the expert dancer and knower of the mellows
of Vraja, has now appeared as Sri Jagadish Pandit.' Sri Nityananda Prabhu
with His associates are the life and wealth of the most effulgent Sri
Jagadish Pandit."
Jagadish Pandit and Hiranya Pandit—lived in Godrumadwip. Their house was some
distance from the Lord's house. On the day of Ekadasi they arranged a large
offering for the Lord. The injunction for fasting on Ekadasi is meant only
for the living entities, but Lord Vishnu is beyond the jurisdiction of the
rules and regulations that He has established. Since He is not bound to
observe fast on Ekadasi, and since He alone is the enjoyer of all sacrificial
offerings, all types of foodstuffs should be offered to Him on Ekadasi. On
the day of Ekadasi the Vaisnavs give up all kinds of enjoyment and do not
accept the injunction for honoring prasada as on other days, but Lord Sri
Hari, the protector of the devotees, accepts the foodstuffs offered by His
devotees on His day, Hari-vasara. Sri Gaura-Narayan also revealed His desire
to eat those foodstuffs.
(Sri Chaitanya-charitamrita, Sri Chaitanya-bhagavata)
No Other Shelter
"One time, when Nimai was three-four years old, He showed He was sick, and
was crying so much. It was an Ekadasi day. His mother, Sachi Mata, asked Him,
'What has happened?' Nimai said, 'I want to go to Hiranya-Jagadish's
house!'"

'Overcome with strong bouts of divine love surging through Him and becoming
unconscious of the world around Him, He dances madly and chants
kirtan; the tears streaming incessantly from His eyes flood His body,

colour of the newly risen sun, and the earth in all fourteen directions

words and relishes various postures and behaviours (roaring with laughter,

beautiful Lord Sri Gauranga-sundar, a worshippable Deity of divine love.'

'One should approach the spiritual master for general guidance, to get the
proper standpoint in life. That is the most important thing we can get from
guru. The standpoint we get from our ordinary lives may come from
anywhere and everywhere, but that may mislead us and misguide us. So we must
be very particular about getting the proper direction.'
Sri Sri Prema-Dhama Deva Stotram(Part Six, chanted on Thursdays)
'Captivated by and afflicted with an intense feeling of separation, He runs
swiftly to the simha-dvara gate of Lord Jagannathdev’s holy temple;
the next moment He falls down on the spot, His holy figure transformed into
that of a tortoise by the influence of deep separation; attracted by the
uncommon divine fragrance emanating from His holy figure, the Telangi cows
residing at the temple draw near, surrounding Him – I am singing in praise of
this beautiful Lord Sri Gauranga-sundar, a worshippable Deity of divine

only be an imitation of service, not devotion proper. It will only be a
lifeless activity.'
Sri Sri Prema-Dhama Deva Stotram(Part Seven, chanted on Fridays)
'He is a holy embodiment of the beautiful reality which is beyond the reach
of one’s eyes and ears, which paralyses the very necessity of intelligence
and which leaves even firmly fixed consciousness dumbstruck when divine love
surges up – even Brahma, Sambhu (Siva), as well as their revealed scriptures,
Vedas and tantras cannot conceive of such reality, so they merely keep
searching after Him – I am singing in praise of this beautiful Lord Sri
Gauranga-sundar, a worshippable Deity of divine love.'

THE MAHAPRASAD OR 'THE GREAT FAVOUR’ (From The Harmonist)

connection with the soul. The food that has been offered by the sadhus

Message (2): Inner Quality
"Bad association can damage your faith and spiritual life. Even if you think
that some association is not good and you stay alone, that is good, no
problem. Next year we will be aware of this—we will not do bad association
and we will not criticise others, we must tolerate."

The Answer Is

"If we follow this Bhagavatam – if we embrace that kind of high
thinking, if we think about that kind of highest attainment – then we will
realise that we are all children of nectar. We all have one father – the
Lord."
—{ Sri Chaitanya Saraswat Math's Treasury }—
Sri Sri Prema-Dhama Deva Stotram(Part Five, chanted on Wednesdays)
'He reveals (first, to Sri Sanatan and then to Prakasananda) sixty-two
interpretations of the famous verse ‘Atmaramas cha… ittham-bhuta-guno
harih’ (‘Even self-realised, self-satisfied souls are moved to worship
the Lord’) from Srimad Bhagavatam; interpreting the various lexical
meanings of the eleven words of this verse, juxtaposed in different ways, He
reveals a treasure-mine of multitudinous meanings of this verse in consonance
with the precepts of pure devotional conclusions – I am singing in praise of
this beautiful Lord Sri Gauranga-sundar, a worshippable Deity of divine
love.'
'Maya is always testing whether you love me or you love your parents. If I
lose my parents, I will get other parents next birth, but if I lose my Guru,
if I lose Krishna, I will not get them again. You must decide what is
important for you, but my feeling is like this.'
